Much of the political world is reeling from last weeks Presidential verdict, not necessarily by who won, but by how much he won by. Immediately it was clear who clinched the election for the Republicans – men. And so stones of hyperbole, already, have started to be thrown; with outraged Democrats blaming a so-called "racist" and "sexist" electorate, who want to putatively punish women, stripping away their rights, to send them back to a handmade's tale. But is it that simple? Why did so many men fail to vote for the Democrats, are they sexist, or did they simply not see a party that was doing anything for them? And when an entire political wing labels men as 'toxic', 'privileged', 'violent', 'oppressive,' and compares them to bears – is it surprising so many packed up their bags and left? Richard Reeves is a policy expert, and the President of the newly formed American Institute of Boys and Men.His book, Of Boys and Men, which peers into the hidden truth of how far behind men and boys are in education and health, was a huge success; read across the world, and came widely recommended, even by former President Barack Obama himself. Reeves was also recently awarded an unprecedented $20,000,000 by philanthropist Melinda French Gates, to be distributed by the AIBM in ways to enrich the lives of boys and men.
