Struggling actors rehearse the grand tale of the fictional Jewish prince and merchant, offstage rivalries and romances interfere with their chariot races and sea battles.Get out and experience your city!

Experience at least one, if not more, of these wonderful events happening 'This Week In Art'.- Explore the west with a crew of insane yet loyal volunteers led by one-armed Captain John Wesley Powell as they set out to chart the course of the Colorado River. An all female cast of 'Men On Boats' opens Thursday at Mad Cow Theatre and runs through Feb 9.- Beginning Saturday, ZORA! Festival 2020 celebrates the life of Zora Neal Hurston with public talks, museum exhibitions, theatrical productions, arts education programming, and a 3-day Outdoor Festival of the Arts.- Thursday, Bach Festival Society of Winter Park hosts Insights & Sounds: The Greatest Composers You've Never Heard Of. Experience compsoers whose talent has escaped notice in modern times.- This Friday, Garden Theatre opens 'Violet', a folk musical about a woman's cross-country journey to find healing.It's a beautfiul week in Central Florida. This Week In Art : 01.06.19 Creative City Project Orlando's theater scene is one of the most prominent in the country. This week, we explore 20+ plays happening around the city. No matter what you're into, there's something for everyone to connect to.- Starting Thursday, enjoy the best of Orlando Fringe at Orlando Fringe Winter Mini-Fest. 22 wildly different plays stretching across genres until Sunday.- Saturday, Crealdé School of Art hosts the 9th annual Night Of Fire, featuring a variety of art created in-part with fire.- Becoming Dr. Ruth opens this Wednesday at Orlando Shakes. The play is filled with the humor, honesty, and life-affirming spirit of Karola Ruth Siegel, the girl who became “Dr. Ruth”, Americaʼs most famous sex therapist.- An extension of 2019's sold out performances, Theater On The Edge presents 'TALK RADIO'.Get out and see something amazing this week!

Set in Argentina between 1934-1952, the Tony Award-winning musical follows Eva Duarte on her journey from poor illegitimate child to ambitious actress to, as the wife of military leader-turned-president Juan Peron, the most powerful woman in Latin America. It runs through October.- Tuesday, Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Floridaopens 'Let Me Be Myself', an exhibit covering the life of Anne Frank.- Friday is Movie Night at Harry P.
