| 7/4/25 | ![]() The Edge of Fate Feels Like Destiny 3—Here’s Why That Matters | The Edge of Fate promises one of Destiny 2’s biggest shake-ups yet, being Destiny 3 in all but name. That means the expansion is bringing fresh gear systems, new mods, and major endgame rewards. Let's dive in. Join the DiscordThis week on Tower Casuals, Josh Finney and Corey Dirrig talk through all the big Destiny 2 news as we get closer to the launch of The Edge of Fate on July 15. Bungie hosted a developer stream, shared a new Rite of the Nine challenge, and announced the hosts for the upcoming World First Raid Race. With Bungie Day and GCX coming soon too, there’s a lot happening in the Destiny world, and Josh and Corey break it all down. One of the biggest changes is the new five-tier gear system. Each tier adds more perks, better stats, and cool visual effects, like blue flame combat flair on Tier 5 weapons. This makes it easier for players to see how valuable a piece of gear really is. Whether you’re chasing the best builds or just want to look awesome, the new system gives more reasons to keep playing and upgrading. They also talk about new seasonal mods that can be used on more weapons. These mods let you do things like deal extra damage to certain enemies or cause explosions after building up charges. It’s a big boost for buildcrafting and adds more ways to play and customize your loadout. Finally, Josh and Corey touch on some economy and power level updates, as well as the return of open access for Destiny 2, making it easier for new players to jump in. With so many changes and events coming, The Edge of Fate is shaping up to be a huge moment for the game—and fans have a lot to look forward to.Thank you for watching or listening to Tower Casuals: The Destiny Podcast by Tower Casuals and Boss Rush Media.
