| 4/29/26 | The Butterfly Suffers For This - Trigun (1998) ep. 17-18 | This week on Trigirls: we get a more in-depth look at Vash's past and his relationship with his brother, Knives, in episode 17 "Rem Saverem" and episode 18 "Goodbye For Now". These episodes introduce us to a young Vash and his twin brother Knives aboard one of the spaceships belonging to Project SEEDS, an extrasolar colonization effort for humanity after the collapse of Earth's biosphere. Meanwhile, in the present day, Wolfwood arrives to drag Vash away from his peaceful life in Kasted since the return of Knives, who aims to drive all of humanity to extinction. Next week, we will be watching episodes 19-21, "Hang Fire", "Flying Ship", and "Out of Time". | 4/15/26 | And Then the Whole City Explodes - Trigun (1998) ep. 15-16 | This week on Trigirls: Vash's problems continue to escalate in episode 15 "Demons Eye" and episode 16 "Fifth Moon".These episodes introduce the nefarious "Gung-Ho Guns", a gang of killers who exist solely to attack Vash and cause him suffering, operating at Legato's behest. Vash previously faced the first of their number, Monev the Gale, and this time, he faces Dominique the Cyclops at Jeneora Rock and E.G. Mine and Rai-Dei the Blade at Augusta. Next week, we will be watching episodes 17 and 18, "Rem Saverem" and "Goodbye For Now". Content warnings for discussions of: sexual harassment, misogyny, and human trafficking. | 3/30/26 | Nash the Centipede - Trigun (1998) ep. 12-14 | This week on Trigirls: the plot is here! Folks, the plot has arrived in episode 12 "Diablo", episode 13 "Vash the Stampede", and episode 14 "Little Arcadia". In these episodes, Vash comes face-to-face with a new enemy: the sinister, psychically powered Legato Bluesummers. Legato has sicced the mercenary Monev the Gale on Vash, and once the dust has settled, Vash and the Insurance Girls reflect on where they've been so far, shortly before Milly and Meryl get their own (mostly) solo adventure. Next week, we will be watching episodes 15 and 16, "Demons Eye" and "Fifth Moon". Content warnings for discussions of: child death and endangerment. | 3/18/26 | Wolfwood (If You're Nasty ;)) - Trigun (1998) ep. 09-11 | Another update! At the top this time because it's important. This week's episode was late because we were waiting on our hosting service to pull our distribution from Spotify. We will no longer be distributing our episodes there due to our disagreement with Spotify's policies on generative AI and their choice of ad partners. If you'd like to know more, Austin Walker and Jack de Quidt from Friends at the Table explain it better than I ever could. I also hope this doesn't discourage anyone from continuing to listen! As alternatives to Spotify for podcasts, Overcast, Pocket Casts, and Podcast Addict all come recommended. This week, the Trigirls and Vash meet and get to know our first (alive) recurring character since episode one, the friendly yet mysterious itinerant priest Nicholas D. Wolfwood in "Murder Machine", "Quick Draw", and "Escape from Pain".In these episodes, Vash, Milly, and Meryl leave the sandsteamer behind, making their way across the desert by bus instead. There they encounter Wolfwood, who helps Vash fend off killer drones. Later, he and Vash compete in a quick draw tournament, before he and Milly help a young couple in distress. Meanwhile, the Trigirls have their first hater moment. Next week, we will be watching episodes 12-14, "Diablo", "Vash the Stampede", and "Little Arcadia". Content warnings for discussions of: misogyny, sexual violence, and human trafficking. The Trigirls and Vash make their way across the desert on board a combination train/cruise ship in "B.D.N." and "And Between the Wasteland and Sky...".In these episodes Vash becomes embroiled in a train robbery/hostage crisis executed by the infamous Bad Lads Gang of bandits and their notorious leader, Brilliant Dynamites Neon. Along the way, he and the young boy Kaite help and hinder each other to save the lives of everyone aboard and preserve the sandsteamer itself.Next week, we will be watching episodes 9, 10, and 11, "Murder Machine", "Quick Draw", and "Escape from Pain".Content warnings for discussions of: racismImages referenced this episodeDOUBLE UPDATE:We have started working on transcripts. The link to the transcript of the quiz show episode is now in that episode's description. More transcripts will be forthcoming and those links will be added to their respective episodes descriptions upon completion. For now, I've added a link to the transcript folder as a whole to our profile on RSS.com (our hosting site). It's come to my attention that Imgur is not available in the UK. In light of this I've switched to using Google Drive to host the related screenshots for this episode. I'll be updating earlier episodes soon.Featuring Stella-Jude (they/them), Maggie (she/her), and Cassie/Moose (she/they/it)Produced by MaggieOur theme music is "Far Feasible" by Three Card MonasteryCover image created by Stella-JudeFollow us on Tumblr or email us with any questions at trigirlspodcast@gmail.com | 2h 10m 55s | |
