About this episode

B Cave shares his journey from sports to music, discussing his latest album and experiences in the industry.

On our first episode of 2026, we welcome rapper & producer B Cave to the show! B Cave shares his story of coming from a very musical family, but choosing to take sports such as baseball more seriously until he starting making beats in college. He then made the leap to move to LA right after his time playing baseball at Tampa University, knowing nobody and having no connections; he even lived in a hostile for 6 months. But B Cave persevered, and is now flourishing in his time out in LA, working with high-level producers such as Max Mitchell, and creating the duo 5TH YEAR with fellow collaborator Dayne Black B Cave is also fresh off of his latest solo album release ‘SAGE’ which features some of his best work yet, and also comes off the heels of his most tumultuous year of his life, which included a serious arm injury that forced him to take a break from music altogether. The album is really a full-circle moment for B Cave, and he shares the in-depth story with us. B Cave and Mike also discuss a variety of other topics, including the legacy of Mac Miller, the importance of authenticity, writing music from real experiences, and so much more.
