| 6/10/26 | ![]() #192 - Landon Donovan speaks on the World Cup | We’re back with Episode 192 of the USA Soccercast, and we get a double dose of Landon Donovan on this episode as we get ready for the World Cup! First, we were fortunate to sit down with Landon as part of his work with the Abbott Dream Team, which sends a couple of players from the United States to train at Real Madrid. It’s a great opportunity for them, and Landon speaks about not just the World Cup, but the opportunity the access to top notch soccer can have for aspiring players. We then got a chance to see Landon Donovan in action at a Raising Cane’s in Inglewood in Hollywood Park just steps from SoFi Stadium. The new Raising Cane’s location was the site of him not just serving chicken to fans, but also to answer questions about the World Cup and what the USMNT players are probably going through as they are a couple of days away from walking out onto the field at SoFi Stadium for their opening match against Paraguay. | 6/9/26 | ![]() #191 - 365 days, 365 USMNT facts (w/ Tracey Reavis Savell) | Ever wondered what USMNT moment occurred on a particular day? June 18th? March 25th? December 1st? Well, now we have a book that chronicles those moments. On Episode 191, we sit down with author and journalist Tracey Reavis Savell to discuss her new book, United States Soccer on this day: A 365-day journey of games, goals, and moments in U.S. Men’s National Team History. It’s a great conversation as we go through some of the important dates in the year and what went into the research behind creating a calendar of U.S. Soccer moments. It’s a nice walk down memory lane in marking some of those moments, from important matches to player birthdates, to other moments that helped the growth of the USMNT program. The book is available on BookBaby Bookshop and Amazon, and it’s a cool way to know the trivia of what happened in U.S. Soccer history on each day of the year. On Episode 174, we speak with defender Max Arfsten, whose arrival on the international scene a year ago has seen him vault into serious contention to be one of the 26 players picked by head coach Mauricio Pochettino. We speak with Max about his rise to the national team and how he was able to play himself into the mix in such a short period of time. We get his thoughts on Major League Soccer’s schedule shift and what he wants to continue to do to show he has earned a spot on the World Cup time. We also get his Super Bowl picks as he discusses some activations he is doing for P&G. We also discuss the selection of venues for the 2028 Olympic soccer tournaments. The tournament will be played across the country and we discuss why that traditionally happens at the Olympics and the format changes on both the men’s and women’s soccer sides. We end with an introduction to Black History Month and what you can do to make it a fruitful month of knowledge as we celebrate Black History both here and abroad. | 1/30/26 | ![]() #173 - Pochettino: "Not Up To Us" To Talk About Ticket Prices | The 2026 World Cup is a few months away, and Mauricio Pochettino spoke some piercing words about the “duty” of players and coaches to comment on World Cup ticket prices. We discuss his comments on Episode 173. In a virtual press conference yesterday, Pochettino was asked whether FIFA was doing all it could to make the World Cup affordable for supporters after Tim Weah commented last week that World Cup tickets were too expensive and pricing out fans. Pochettino’s response? Weah and the rest of the players should focus on the field, not the other stuff. We take Pochettino’s comments to task on this episode, emphasizing the platform that players and coaches have and the true duty to use that platform to help bring the changes that will help make not just the World Cup successful but make the game grow and improve. Pochettino’s comments were disappointing, to say the least. We spend some time on why they were disappointing. After the break, we get into some of the USMNT transfers that have happened and others that are rumored. Are these guys taking some risks in making a move right now? Risks are there. But we comment on why some of these moves could be good for certain players and why others may want to stay put to better their chances of making the World Cup roster.
