This episode explores the various responses of early witnesses to the resurrection of Christ and how they reflect our own faith journeys.
What happens after the resurrection? We often celebrate Easter Sunday with great joy, but this message invites us to linger in the aftermath of Christ's resurrection and examine how the early witnesses responded to encountering the risen Savior. Drawing from the final chapters of all four Gospels, we discover at least ten distinct responses that mirror our own faith journeys today. Some were paralyzed by fear and indecision, unable to move forward despite the miracle before them. Others, like Thomas, struggled with conflicted obedience and a show-me-first faith, needing tangible proof before believing. We see dutiful disbelief in those who came to anoint a dead body, operating from inherited faith rather than personal conviction. Perhaps most relatable is the concept of holey hope—hope that leaks when life punctures our confidence. Yet through all these imperfect responses, Christ meets each person exactly where they are. He invites Thomas to touch His wounds, He cooks breakfast for confused disciples, and He asks Peter three times if he loves Him—matching the three denials with three opportunities for restoration.
