| 6/23/26 | ![]() 12 Destinations in Europe That Deserve More Love | Looking for destinations in Europe that deserve more love?In this episode, I'm sharing 12 places across Europe that I think deserve a spot on more travelers' wish lists. These aren't unknown destinations. Because, let's face it, there are very few truly undiscovered places. Instead I'd describe them as places that often get overshadowed by more famous neighbors. From wild Irish coastlines and peaceful English countryside to mountain landscapes in Slovenia, Scotland, Austria, and Italy, these destinations offer a variety of experiences. Along the way, you'll find charming villages, fascinating history, outstanding food and wine, and plenty of opportunities to spend time outdoors. All are places I believe deserve more attention from curious travelers. Some are easy additions to a European itinerary, while others require a bit more patience and a sense of adventure. And of course, all of them are places I've personally visited and would (and have) happily return to.Join me as I share why places like the Yorkshire Dales, Lake Bohinj, the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, Piedmont, the Hochkönig region, and the Mani Peninsula deserve more attention from travelers looking to venture beyond Europe's usual stops.Whether you're actively planning a trip or simply dreaming about future travels, I hope this episode inspires you to discover a few destinations in Europe that deserve more love.Want to chat more about these destinations or this topic?Email me at Lynne@WanderYourWay.com.In this episode:2:45: Intro6:18: County Donegal, Ireland10:30: Normandy, France14:28: Yorkshire Dales, England19:19: Lake Bohinj, Slovenia23:09: Ardnamurchan, Scotland30:17: Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland37:22: Scottish Borders41:08: Isle of Mull, Scotland46:37: Piedmont, Italy51:20: Val di Fassa, Italy54:28: Hochkönig region, Austria58:05: Mani Peninsula, Greece1:03:04: Recap1:03:54: Wrapping it upImportant links:County Donegal • IrelandExploring Beautiful Normandy, France: Going Beyond the D-Day BeachesAmazing Things To Do in the Yorkshire Dales EnglandLake Bohinj • SloveniaDumfries & Galloway • ScotlandExploring the Scottish BordersIsle of Mull • ScotlandPiedmont • Italy6 Reasons to Visit the Beautiful Val di Fassa ItalyDiscovering the Stunning and Beautiful Hochkönig Region of AustriaStoupa • GreeceWander Your WayWander Your Way AdventuresWander Your Way ResourcesNord VPN ★ Support this podcast ★ | 1h 08m 30s | ||||||
| 6/9/26 | ![]() Fascinating Portugal Beyond the Tourist Trail with Julie Fox | Portugal is a fascinating country, but there is so much more to discover beyond Lisbon, Porto, and the Algarve. In this episode, I'm joined by Portugal travel expert Julie Fox of Julie Dawn Fox in Portugal, who has called Portugal home for nearly 20 years. Julie shares how she ended up moving from the UK to Portugal, why the country immediately felt like home, and what has kept her there ever since.Together we explore some of Portugal's lesser-known destination — from charming riverside towns and medieval villages to beautiful natural areas filled with walking trails and stunning scenery. Along the way, Julie introduces us to places such as Ponte de Lima, Buçaco National Forest, Marvão, Alcobaça, Monchique, Penha Garcia, and several coastal communities that offer a quieter and more authentic experience of Portugal. We also discuss Portugal's only national park — Peneda-Gerês National Park, scenic hiking trails (Julie is a keen hiker), and practical tips for travelers who want to venture beyond the country's biggest cities. Julie shares advice on the best time to visit, whether a rental car is worth it, and how to make the most of Portugal's incredible mix of history, culture, nature, and outdoor adventure. If you enjoy slower travel, spending time outdoors, discovering charming small towns, and getting beyond the usual stops, this episode will inspire you to explore a different side of fascinating Portugal.Want to chat more about Portugal?Send me an email at Lynne@WanderYourWay.com.In this episode:1:32: Introducing Julie Fox4:24: Julie's travel story10:21: Lisbon & Porto16:27: North Portugal: Ponte de Lima20:09: Peneda-Gerês National Park23:45: Central Portugal: Buçaco National Forest28:36: Eastern Border: Penha Garcia32:39: Central: Alcobaça38:09: Moving South: Alentejo Region49:10: Algarve Region: Monchique & Alvor57:12: Additional hiking1:02:21: Travel tips plus a few more spots1:13:13: Wrapping it upImportant links:Julie Dawn Fox in PortugalVisit PortugalWander Your WayWander Your Way AdventuresWander Your Way ResourcesVuori ★ Support this podcast ★ | 1h 19m 59s | ||||||
| 5/26/26 | ![]() May 2026 Listener A&A | In this short Listener Q&A episode, I’m tackling a thoughtful question from Miranda that more of us should probably be asking — how do you find cultural experiences that are both authentic and environmentally responsible when you travel in Europe?I share practical ways to travel more consciously — from choosing locally owned accommodations and guides to supporting small restaurants and seeking out truly local experiences. I also talk about eco-certifications — and why they don’t always tell the full story — plus a few simple ways to be a more responsible traveler without overcomplicating things. Then I shift gears and answer a second question from Miranda about traveling to Finland’s Lapland region, including why timing matters and where to start your research if it’s on your list. It’s a short episode, but one packed with ideas to help you travel more meaningfully. | 3/31/26 | ![]() Using AI to Plan Your Trip: What It Gets Right (and What It Misses) | Curious about using AI to plan your trip to Europe? In this bonus episode, I share my honest take on using AI to plan your trip — where it can be helpful, where it can fall short, and why a little caution goes a long way. While tools like ChatGPT can be great for gathering ideas or sketching out a rough itinerary, they don’t always catch the nuances that come from real, on-the-ground experience. I walk through a real client example where AI missed a simple (and better) travel option, along with common pitfalls like outdated recommendations, closed sites, and logistics that don’t quite add up.You’ll also hear my thoughts on the bigger picture — how AI is shaping travel planning, the pros and cons of using AI to plan your trip, and why having a real human in your corner still matters when things don’t go as planned. If you’re thinking about using AI to plan your trip, this episode will help you do it smarter—so you can take advantage of the good without getting tripped up by the not-so-good.And if you decide you’d rather hand things over — or just want a second set of eyes on your plans — I’m always here to help.Want to chat more about this topic?Feel free to email me at Lynne@WanderYourWay.com.In this episode:0:54: Intro1:47: Ethical considerations of AI2:42: Using AI for planning your trip3:53: Some examples5:18: More considerations in using AI8:07: Wrapping it upImportant links:Wander Your WayWander Your Way Adventures ★ Support this podcast ★ | 9m 46s | ||||||

| 3/24/26 | ![]() March 2026 Listener Q&A | Got questions about traveling in Europe? I’ve got answers! And this month’s Listener Q&A features two fantastic ones from Luana. She’s heading to Europe for the first time this summer and wrote this:"I am going to Europe for the first time this year in summer! Due to it being our first time a little over half of our trip is large/famous cities. So, understanding it will be very busy in these cities (Venice, Rome, Barcelona, Athens) are there any recommendations you have for making our experience smoother/more enjoyable in the crowds?"So in this episode, I share some practical tips to help you navigate peak season with a bit more ease — from when to visit popular sites to how to find quieter corners and build in breaks so you can actually enjoy the experience. Her second question takes us in the opposite direction:“Do you have any off-the-beaten-path locations you would recommend in winter?” I love this one. We dive into why some destinations are actually better in the off-season, along with ideas for quieter regions, smaller towns, and even how to rethink those big-name cities when the crowds disappear. If you’ve ever wondered how to handle Europe in the height of summer — or where to go when things slow down — this episode is full of thoughtful insights to help you travel Europe your way. From Ireland to Pompeii, she explains why knowing the context of a place transforms a visit from interesting into unforgettable. We also talk about Jackie’s approach to blending books and travel, including how historical novels, biographies, and audiobooks can deepen your connection to the places you visit. She shares why reading before you go changes what you notice once you arrive, and how learning through story makes history through travel feel accessible rather than overwhelming. If you’ve ever felt drawn to historic places but weren’t sure how to truly connect with them, this episode will inspire you to slow down, look closer, and travel with deeper curiosity and understanding.Want to chat more about history through travel?Email me at Lynne@WanderYourWay.com.In this episode:0:40: Intro1:35: Introducing Jackie Lapin4:35: Jackie's Story14:45: Book directory & offerings24:56: Experiences through history28:08: Favorite sites31:13: Historic hotels32:34: Other favorites43:15: Final tips & thoughts47:10: Wrapping it up53:39: Listener reviewImportant links:The Historic TravelerNord VPNWander Your WayWander Your Way AdventuresWander Your Way Resources ★ Support this podcast ★ | 54m 42s | ||||||

| 12/23/25 | ![]() Year of Travel in Review 2025 | As 2025 comes to a close, I’m looking back on a remarkable year in travel where I explored some new places in some old countries. In this Year of Travel in Review 2025, I’m sharing a high-level overview of where I traveled during the year — from England’s countryside and dramatic coastlines to iconic regions of France, with the Italian Dolomites, where I led my very first Wander Your Way Adventures small group tour, woven in between. This episode isn’t a deep dive into each destination (those are coming!), but rather a big-picture look at how this intensive travel season shaped my perspective, my work and what’s ahead. During a late-summer and fall travel window, I explored several of England’s most beloved (and quietly spectacular) regions, including Oxfordshire, the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales and the coastal town of Whitby in North Yorkshire. Each place offered a different pace and personality — and plenty of inspiration for future episodes. France was another highlight of 2025, with time spent in Normandy, the Loire Valley, and my favorite city, Paris — reinforcing why France remains such a cornerstone of European travel. And reminding me that I still have so much more of this fabulous country to explore). Finally, one of the most meaningful parts of this Year of Travel in Review 2025 centers on Italy — specifically the Dolomites — where I led and hosted the inaugural Wander Your Way Adventures small group tour. What an experience!Leading this first small group adventure was a defining moment for me and for my business — truly unforgettable. So tune in as I reflect on my Year of Travel in Review 2025, a season that left a lasting mark.Want to chat more about travel to Europe?Email me at Lynne@WanderYourWay.comIn this episode:0:45: Intro3:25: Oxfordshire England6:02: Peak District England7:40: Yorkshire Dales England8:51: East to Whitby England12:30: Back to the Peak District 14:18: Normandy France19:03: Loire Valley France21:41: Paris22:32: First Wander Your Way Adventures Small Group Tour31:31: Wander Your Way Adventures 2026 Tours35:49: Wrapping it upImportant links: Peak DistrictYorkshire Dales Normandy FranceLoire Valley FranceWander Your Way AdventuresWander Your WayWander Your Way Resources ★ Support this podcast ★ | 40m 54s | ||||||
