January can feel empty, heavy, or even painful. For many people, the end of the holidays doesn't bring relief, but rather a feeling difficult to name: emotional exhaustion, nostalgia, helplessness. In this episode of Gothic Land, I explore why January hurts from a Gothic-Jungian perspective, using the concept of the psychoid character of the archetype, described by Carl Jung, to understand emotional experiences that are felt in the body before they can be put into words.
