If you ever go on a hike, however, anyone with experience will make something very clear: Keep drinking water. Here’s why. In such a region, the air is so dry that it draws moisture from your body without you realizing it. When that happens, dehydration can set in. The level of dehydration can quickly reach a point where your mind grows confused, disoriented, and unable to process what’s happening. In other words, your dehydration can become so severe that you may not realize you need water. The fallen world in which you and I live is a spiritual desert. As I live, work, and move about, the cultural air around me is steadily dehydrating my soul. Left unchecked, my heart can quickly grow confused, disoriented, unable to process what’s happening.
