Stop them in their tracks and ask.....IS THAT TRUE?*There is a simple question you can ask yourself throughout your day that can help you find greater peace of mind and let go of intrusive thought loops. The question is to ask ourselves, Is That True? Asking this question can allow us to pause and take a second to explore whether or not what we're telling ourselves about ourselves or deciding to believe about another person or situation is in fact completely accurate or perhaps may be tied to fear or assumptions. Which, by the way, is a pretty brutal combo when you come to assumptions out of fear, perhaps fearing the worst or making rash judgements. It also allows us to enter that Divine Feminine space of stillness, reflection, consideration, and balance. To sit with something rather than act on it impulsively. Then once we're able to decide if something does indeed feel true for us, we can honor that.On this Divine Feminine solo episode I start by exploring what is Truth itself, how this question of Is That True can be very helpful, and I also get into the work of the wonderful Byron Katie who first inspired me to begin this practice. *(Helllllo Listeners! This episode was originally released in July 2023. I just finished an amazing 2 weeks in Hawaii and now I sail across the seas for my new adventure! I plan to record new episodes before too long yet I'm not sure when. I hope you'll hang in and continue to tune in!)*Too often it's the case that someone can receive 100 compliments yet choose instead to only focus on the one person who insulted them. The same can be seen frequently in dating and relationships. When a person we're seeing makes it clear through their actions, words, behavior, demeanor & beyond that they aren't willing to put in the effort for us or give us the love we are looking for. Yet we continue to take the minimal effort they are willing to give in hopes that it will eventually amount to a full blown loving connection. The reality is that 99% of the time it won't and we're better off moving on sooner than later so we can actually be available to the person who DOES want to love us. Codependency holds us back, believing that we need this person's approval and love to be worthy.On this Identify and Heal solo episode, I explore the phenomenon of seeking love from people who are either incapable of doing so or have no interest in giving love to us. Which, when experienced, can lead us to believe that there is something wrong with us and create a fear that maybe we are unloveable. The truth is that these are simply people who are not aligned with us and cannot truly see us for the amazing, Divine Feminine being that we are so why waste our time on them? I provide some insight and personal experience with this concept and how to avoid falling into this trap the next time around.
