About this episode

Vanessa Luu discusses the themes of sin and forgiveness in Leviticus and how they relate to Jesus as the High Priest.

We’ve completed 7 chapters of Leviticus — and I’m blown away. The book makes one thing abundantly clear: Israel will sin. Even when they don’t mean to. And honestly… so will we. That means the priests were always busy — constantly offering sacrifices for guilt, for sin, for cleansing. But then I read this: “If the entire Israelite community sins by violating one of the Lord’s commands, but the people don’t realize it, they are still guilty.” — Leviticus 4:13 “Through this process, the priest will purify the people, making them right with the Lord, and they will be forgiven.” — Leviticus 4:20 And it hit me — that’s why Jesus had to come. That’s why He is our forever High Priest. Because without Him standing in that role — without His perfect, once-for-all sacrifice — we could never be made right with God. Leviticus shows us what Jesus fulfills completely. We still sin, even unintentionally. But grace still covers, completely. 🙌 https://www.amazon.com/author/vanessaluu
