12 Hour Day with J.D. and Connor

J.D. and Connor wander the city because it's holiday season again. Connor shows J.D. "Maclunkey" and they meet up with their friend Patrick for lunch. They go to a toy store, spend a lot of time in Lincoln Center, and then spend a lot of time talking to their dear friend, Tom. They spend a lot of time talking with Tom. They like Tom.

After the longest gap between episodes, neither Connor nor J.D. has slept much, so they keep things simple. They stay in and just catch up. Connor gives his opinion on shoelaces.

While we wait for J.D. to post the newest episode, Connor really wanted to get some fresh content out there for April Fools Day. So, this is 12 Hour Minute-- one minute of conversation stretched to be the same 12 Hour Length you know and love. Connor and J.D. aren't really even sure the technology behind this works and it's essentially an empty shell of occasional clicks in it's twelve hour length. But, if you can somehow re-condense this down to a minute and the data isn't completely lost during that metamorphosis... then you have yourself a solid one minute of fresh new content.

As a special twelfth episode treat J.D. and Connor get lunch with a new friend. J.D. has bought new equipment. Connor has to perform a show. This episode has conversations about art, unexpected surprises, an audio archive of one of Connor's shows and a stolen radio broadcast. This was a good twelve hour day.

J.D. and Connor start out at Connor's apartment and intend to spend the day doing holiday stuff. They get caught up in conversation and eventually have to head into the city so Connor can perform in a Star Wars themed show. J.D. saves a stranger's hat, but gets badly injured along the way. J.D. and Connor steal power from Lincoln Center. Connor and J.D. find some pleasant New York City holiday joy and also find themselves in the middle of a New York City holiday nightmare. There's some private time, some wandering, some time at the UCB Theater, and a couple phone calls to important people.

J.D. and Connor decide to record an episode from within the subterranean offices of the Chris Gethard Show on a Saturday. Both are audibly tired and J.D. leaves Connor alone for long spells to take work calls and respond to emails. This episode includes conversations at an improv show and personal phone calls with Connor. This episodes includes some of the most solitary moments of the podcast as well as some of the most guest-filled thanks to Connor's phone calls. J.D. thinks people will not like this episode.

It's winter and J.D. and Connor are hosting a late-night holiday get together at the theater. But, the boys decide to go on a christmas adventure before it starts. Unfortunately, a lot of things go wrong including the adventure part of the the podcast being completely lost due to temperature-based equipment malfunction. But, Connor and J.D. still manage to talk to friends, argue about minutia, independently oscillate their moods, and eventually sing songs with friends. As a special in-episode bonus content, we take some breaks to visit with J.D. and Connor's respective families over the holidays.

It's Summer and Connor and J.D. are determined to ride the Staten Island Ferry but are sidetracked by technical difficulties, conversations with friends, and the overwhelming anxiety surrounding the secrecy of business. This episode has long conversational guests, a new "segment" as created by Connor, and J.D. taking lots of work phone calls. You get public time, private time, and maybe even some boat time.

It's a particularly cold day and J.D. and Connor meet up at the Woodside subway station and begin recording their 12 Hour Day as they walk towards Connor's apartment. This episode features the first public description of Connor's apartment, some deeply personal conversations, and dozens of hashtag requests. Emotions range from introspective, to bemused, to sad, to nostalgic. J.D. and Connor spend the day by themselves but there is a brief guest background appearance by a grocery store employee.
