About this episode

Johnny Mac shares five uplifting news stories including Earth's potential escape from the sun's red giant phase and a record-setting dim sum dinner.

Johnny Mac shares five good news stories: a new study suggests Earth might avoid being swallowed when the sun becomes a red giant because mass loss could weaken solar gravity and tidal effects may be weaker than once believed, potentially letting Earth drift outward (though Mercury and Venus would not). In Portland, Sunshine Division opened a free food market in Slabtown that lets families choose items like a grocery store and aims to serve up to 100,000 households, with about 80% of food donated. In Michigan, Titan Plumbing found an engagement ring in a sewer line and reunited it with Carol, lost for about 10 years, with paperwork dating to 1965; it was cleaned and revealed to be white gold. In Texas, an overturned truck released two million bees, and beekeepers helped recover and transport them to a honey farm. In Seattle’s Chinatown International District, a dim sum dinner drew 900 attendees and Guinness counted 830 toward a new record, with 3,600 dumplings made by hand. 00:00 Show Intro 00:10 Earth Escapes Red Giant 01:27 Free Choice Food Market 02:07 Ring Found In Sewer 03:16 Two Million Bees Rescue 04:07 Dim Sum World Record 04:53 Wrap Up And Sign Off Become a supporter of…
