| 3/20/24 | ![]() 2.4 Goofy Genesis, Part 2: Abraham And The Boys | Abraham is the father of the three largest religions on Earth. This character is pretty important, whether he existed or not, though i think he probably did in some way. P.S. I hope this episode comes out alright, i really need to leave and i didn't get a chance to listen to the finished product. I move mountains for you people, but I'm happy to do it. You're welcome, Humanity. Highlights: Abe leaves home at the age of 75.He establishes that the West Bank belongs to him and his children, sparking 6,000 years of warfare. He tells a Pharaoh his wife is his sister, but it's only half a lie, because she's only half a sister.Sodom and Gomorrah get blown up, and maybe that actually happened.Abe does a lot of other stuff, then he dies.I got places to be. If you're reading this and you're disappointed, just listen to the episode, and I'll just rant to you there. Cheers, Humans! With Love,Wilson King. | 45m 26s | ||||||
| 3/13/24 | ![]() 2.3 The Bronze Age, What's Up With That? | Someone figured out agriculture and writing. They (not necessarily the same person) also figured out how to mix copper with tin and make bronze. All of this was a big deal, it turns out. In this episode, i also talk about: The Sumerian King's list, (for too long,)How economies formed,And Sargon Of Akkad, among other dickheads of Akkad. It's a banger, trust me. you didn't even know you wanted to know this stuff.you"re welcome! If you read this far, i will clean exactly one dish in your sink if i happen to be in your kitchen. (conditions Apply.) I love you, Goodnight. | 44m 13s | ||||||
| 3/6/24 | ![]() 2.2 Goofy Genesis, Part 1 | This is my feeble wacky retelling of the Biblical story of Genesis. This story starts with the epic creation of the universe in a convenient seven day work week, and ends with Noah getting hammered on home made wine after his whole story with the floating zoo and the flood. I'd love to go into more detail on this podcast version of a back cover blurb, but I've been working for about 16 hours, it's 2 AM, and I want to get some sleep. I love you and so does Jesus, so I'm told. Goodnight! | 41m 36s | ||||||
| 2/28/24 | ![]() 2.1 The Old Stories | Ancient Eastern Mediterranean mythology. In this episode, I manage to casually cover the supposed beliefs of Egypt, Greece, Hercules, and a fairly brief stint on the Canaanites. I didn't really have time to get to the Babylonians or Hittites, but, honestly, it's a pretty similar story. Well, I didn't even check on the Hittites, but who cares about them, right? Probably the same story, even the Norse have basically the same story about their gods and the creation of the universe, but theirs is more metal. Also, I go over the story of Hercules in this episode, because it's awesome.Maybe I'll write more here one day. Maybe not. Who cares? Leave a review if you actually read this, if you did I'll give you one coupon for me to lovingly snuggle you.Cheers, Wilson King. | 54m 39s | ||||||
| 2/14/24 | ![]() 1.6: Species With Amnesia | Between 12,800 years ago, and 11,600 years ago, the ice age ended, Hard. There's a lot of theories on what caused it, (probably a comet impact on the Canadian ice sheet) but evidence is becoming more clear all the time that it was a cataclysmic time across most of Earth. There was a mass extinction, sea levels rose 400 feet, and we are now left with only legends of great civilizations that sank under the sea. The more we learn about this time, the more we find out that we are a Species With Amnesia. | 47m 39s | ||||||
| 2/7/24 | ![]() 1.5: The Megalithic Age | It's an hour long rant about big ancient rocks. There's more to it than that, but I'll write this up later when i get a second. Puma Punku is super weird. With Love, Wilson. | 54m 06s | ||||||
| 1/31/24 | ![]() 1.4 Nerd Legend- Ancient Aliens? | Yep, this is gonna be the weirdest episode for quite a while. I have no idea if it's true, but it's a fun story either way. This is the story, or interpretation, of the alien sky gods on Earth in the ancient past. In the immortal words of Forrest Gump, "that's all I got to say about that." For Further Reading, if this interests you: There's a book called "Our Occulted History" By Jim Marrs. It's a fun tinfoil hat read, and i gotta admit, it makes some pretty good points at times. If you really want to nerd out on this topic, there's a book called "The Stage Of Time" By Matthew LaCroix. I'll admit, I haven't finished it yet, because there's only so many hours in the day, but it goes real deep. I hope you find this episode fun, it's a little goofier than most. Thanks For Listening!Wilson King | 42m 16s | ||||||
| 1/24/24 | ![]() 1.3 In The Beginning III, The Rise Of The Humans | In this episode we explore Human Evolution and the Middle Earthy world it happened in. Human ancestors began walking upright, practicing monogamy, and hanging out near fires, and all of that was a pretty big deal. Eventually humans got pretty good at playing with fire, making tools, and started building societies across the planet! We explore some of humanity's cousins, Neanderthals and Denisovans, who are also partially our ancestors, and very interesting. Then we take a look at the potential role of naturally occurring psychedelics in human evolution, and a rough timeline of the spread of humanity across the planet. We learn more all the time about exactly how, when and where humans spread, so nothing is really for certain on that.An entertaining movie about this time is "A Quest For Fire" from 1981. Worth a watch if this period interests you.A good book that's kinda about this subject and evolutionary psychology is "A Hunter Gatherer's Guide To The 21st Century," By Heather Heying and Bret Weinstein. I thoroughly recommend this book. Thanks For Listening! | 33m 07s | ||||||
| 1/17/24 | ![]() 1.2 In The Beginning II, The Rise Of The Mammals | This is the story of that time between the dinosaurs and us. There were sixty six million years in there, and nobody gives a flying squirrel about it, but it's actually pretty fascinating. Mammals happened, for one, which is something mammals should care about. The world got absurdly hot for a while, but it didn't seem to really bother anyone at the time, and a bunch of ferns nipped that problem in the bud by growing on the surface of the ocean. I swear that will make sense. Cats and grass become a thing. Maybe that doesn't make you happy, but it makes me giddy. Then it's kinda a story of the world getting colder for a while until the ice age(s). That's a pretty awesome period, it's when humans actually became humans for the most part, and it gets me strangely excited. There's also saber-tooth tigers and woolly mammoths, and that's awesome.Stick with me, we're gonna be through the natural history soon! Explaining it feels stupid, just listen to the episode! Also, thanks for listening. All the love, Fellow Humans. Wilson King. | 31m 30s | ||||||
| 1/5/24 | ![]() 1.1 In The Beginning I, Rocks And Reptiles | In this episode, I explore the vast majority of time, focused on Earth, how little we actually know about it, and how little all of that actually matters to our perspective of upright walking primates. The universe began, somehow, at some point, and that was pretty cool.Stars formed, yadda yadda yadda. Our solar system formed, Jupiter is our best friend, and we happen to live on the third rock.Volcanoes and meteors, oh my. Earth sucked for 4 billion years or so, then some bacteria started to grow extra cells, and everyone who got on the bandwagon became a giant bug for a while. Some bug grew a spine. That dude's kids became fish, their kids became amphibians, and some of them crawled onto land. Then almost everybody died, for some reason.Next it became trendy to be Dinosaurs, and that lasted for like 200 million years. There were two massive extinctions in here, I'm sure it was all very sad, but we don't really know anything about it.Then there was a mass extinction that Really changed things, known as the meteor that killed the dinosaurs off. Pretty metal. That pretty much sums up what I cover in this episode! Thanks for listening! | 25m 44s | ||||||
| 1/5/24 | ![]() 1.0 Thoughts And Theories | Originally, this was an episode that explained the big picture of the following season, and explained a couple hypotheses about how our idea of super ancient history is probably missing most of the story. Objects get lost, stories get weird when you tell them to kids around a campfire in a cave, yadda yadda.I cover the important points within the first five minutes, and left my original deeper explanations for those who were bored enough to listen to them in the latter twenty minutes. Thanks for listening, if you felt so inclined! | 25m 38s | ||||||
| 1/5/24 | ![]() Introduction To A.D.D History | This is my introduction to the world of A.D.D. History. Just listen to the first five minutes, the rest is basically a waste of time. I'll let you know.Should you dare to listen farther, I'll explain a bit about myself and who I am, why I'm bothering to do this, and how I plan to go about it all. Thanks for checking it out! With Love,Wilson. | 38m 50s | ||||||
