Your mood shifts, your energy drops and you’re just not quite yourself, all because of one interaction that’s now living in your mind and body. Meanwhile, they’ve probably moved on and haven’t given it another thought. And that’s where the shift is. It’s not really about what was said, it’s about what you chose to do with it afterwards. Because even if it hurt, even if it felt unfair, you still have a choice in whether you hold onto it or let it stop there.
