The call is to labor—not to achieve, but to stay in alignment through prayer, Scripture, and fellowship. Righteousness, healing, and prosperity are gifts, not goals, and striving to earn them short-circuits grace and numbs intimacy with God. We've been given tremendous power. The authority that God gave Jesus and Jesus shared with His disciples is the same ability that He, in turn, gave to us. This empowers us to do the same things that He did during His ministry, including healing the sick, casting out unclean spirits, and even raising the dead and walking on water. This is something the devil doesn't want us to know, which is why it's so important to visualize ourselves as we already are in Christ. We must never forget the importance of giving from a place awareness of God's love for us, instead of from a sense of duty that causes us to give grudgingly. Being a giver awakens us to the blessings we already have in Christ. God's economy is one of abundance; giving therefore reflects an awareness of this, rather than of our own worthiness. There's a contrast between the consequences of being in and out of God's will; challenges come in both situations but serve different purposes. Trusting in His guidance allows us to experience the fullness of His blessings.
