FOUNDER #40. £8M Sports Travel Mogul: "I Watched A Million Pounds Evaporate" - Ian Kerr

About this episode

Ian Kerr shares his journey of building and rebuilding a successful sports travel business amidst challenges.

If you're a Founder and would like to come on the podcast, then you can apply on the link here 👉 https://dodgewoodall.com/guest Ian Kerr built one of the UK's leading sports travel businesses, growing an independently booked trip to watch cricket in South Africa into an £8 million operation trusted by the BBC, national press and high-profile clients. But behind the success lies a story of sacrifice and resilience. Years of relentless travel strained his health and his marriage, before the pandemic forced refunds, redundancies and the collapse of the business, and a later crypto venture he'd poured a year into fell apart overnight. Rather than walk away, Ian rebuilt, channelling 17 years of industry knowledge into Follow On Sport, an AI-first travel company for the next generation of travellers. He reflects on entrepreneurship, resilience, and the lessons learned from building - and rebuilding - a life around the thing he loves most.
