In this episode of Families in Transition, France and Chelsea meet Alba, a mother of two trans children and a deeply committed member of the Winnipeg community.Originally from Nicaragua, Alba shares her journey as a mother shaped by love, but also by loneliness and a lack of guidance, at a time when very few resources existed to support a child’s transition. Faced with that silence, she chose to learn, to get involved, and to help create paths so that other parents would not have to walk alone.She speaks about fear, the feeling of loss, the words that take time to understand, and the strength that comes from support between parents.
