This episode of Takedown is almost entirely given over to Pac. Paul Fontaine runs down his top five Pac moments across a career that spanned Dragon Gate, WWE, and AEW, while Garrett Gonzales shares a story about seeing Pac live in person just recently. The guys also go back to the very beginning of their own fandom, remembering the first time they each watched him wrestle.Along the way, Garrett and Paul work through his overall career — the high-flying independent scene run, his Adrian Neville/Neville years and Cruiserweight Championship reigns in WWE, and the AEW run that made him a two-time double champion and a fixture of Death Triangle and later the Death Riders — celebrating what made him one of the most respected in-ring workers of his generation.Fight Game Media on our website: https://www.fightgamemedia.comThe Fight Game Podcast on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-fight-game-podcast-pro-wrestling-mma-boxing/id1594255707The Fight Game Podcast on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4IpirI4FyHQA3BRMhwei5X?si=37d71307660d4e68Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Paul Fontaine and Garrett Gonzales dig into the Kevin Owens and CM Punk feud ahead of their August 21 Undisputed WWE Championship match in Toronto. The promos have leaned hard into 20 years of legitimate independent-scene history between the two, with Owens airing out how Punk treated him back in their ROH days — but the guys ask the real question: can the actual match live up to that level of personal, shoot-style promo work, or is this a case of the build outpacing the payoff? From there, they head to NJPW, where first-time finalists Ryohei Oiwa and Yuya Uemura closed out the G1 Climax 36, with Oiwa submitting Uemura to win it all and immediately call his shot for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at King of Pro-Wrestling in October. Garrett and Paul debate whether crowning two new names in the final is a real sign NJPW can finally build fresh stars.Next up, AEW's brand new Continental Challenge Cup — the blind-draw tournament feeding into the Continental Classic, with a stacked field including Jon Moxley, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong and Nigel McGuinness, wrapping at All In London on August 30. The guys ask whether bolting a qualifying tournament onto the front of the Continental Classic dilutes what made the original round robin feel special. They close on WWE Raw, where Solo Sikoa turned on Roman Reigns and The Bloodline to align with LA Knight, spiking Reigns and helping demolish the group on the August 17 go-home show after the trio's win at SummerSlam. Garrett and Paul weigh in on whether Solo and LA Knight actually have what it takes to be legitimate babyface main eventers on the Raw side, or if this is a short-term rub before the next swerve.Fight Game Media on our website: https://www.fightgamemedia.comFight Game Media on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4IpirI4FyHQA3BRMhwei5X?si=24304a735a124815Fight Game Media on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/fight-game-media-network/id1594255707Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
