Geeks Without God

It's certainly a movie, and we all saw it! None of us thought it was bad, per se? And there are definitely some godless topics to discuss from the movie, as well. Is it a Spielberg masterpiece? No, but the score is by John Williams, so it's got that going for it.We obviously spoil this one, but if you've seen the trailer you basically already know everything in store for you.

It's the holiday season and we all know what that means - bell ringers at every supermarket trying to guilt you into giving money to the Salvation Army! Well don't. They are still as homophobic as they always were and they do things like Mission trips to third world countries. We use this episode to remind you that there are a lot of other ways you can give to your fellow humans during this season and really all year round. And remember - your time can be even more important than your money so if you can't afford to give financially but you have some extra time, consider volunteering!

As is our tradition, we recorded an episode about OmegaCon, which is a little relxacon the three of us attend in Siren Wisconsin every year. There is typically a lot of tabletop gaming at the con so we are doing a review of the games we played reviewing which we enjoyed and which maybe needed a little more work. Spoiler: Discount Salmon needed a little more work.

We get a bonus helping to Tony Miller this week! He sits down to talk about resilience and resistance in a time of fascism. The world we live in can be exhausting. How do we keep going and find the energy not only to simply exist but to continue resisting? We talk about what we are doing to keep ourselves focused and fighting. Tony also brings us five questions!

Tim's boner is pretty old, as is to be expected. Molly's is a lot newer. Nick is excited about an Anime/Manga romance, which is about as unexpected as you might imagine.

Hey - another episode about a super hero movie! This time we are talking about Fantastic Four: First Steps. If you have super-hero fatigue, we totally get it. We still think this is one of the better installments in the MCU and about as good a Fantastic Four movie that isn't "The Incredibles" as you are going to get! Spoilers a-plenty are in this episode so watch the movie first if you care about such things!

Dave Rand-McKay and Lee Harris joined us to talk about Generative AI in their workplace and in the world at Large. Dave works as a professor of Geography and Lee is an Editor with Tor Books. We all talk about our encounters with AI both positive and negative and it is super interesting!
