| 4/22/26 | Throwback Thursday episode 165: The Homeopath Farmer - with Pat Aherne | Want to learn more about holistic farming and food production systems that prioritize health? In today's episode with Pat, we will discuss how to support farmers who are looking for alternatives to synthetic chemicals, antibiotics, and artificial intervention, as well as how homeopathy can help farmers practice whole-health farming. Pat Aherne is a conventional farmer with an unconventional outlook. Pat is located on what is properly the last piece of farmland between Cork Airport and Cork City. He holds the title of being the last farmer in his parish of Ballyphehane, a once thriving farming community and home to the famous CMP Dairies. He owns a herd of 90 cows under the prefix AnnaMaria (named after his two daughters). Pat is the third generation on the farm. His grandmother bought the farm in 1958, Pat’s father Patrick took over in 1970 and Pat took over in 2014. Pat started to explore a more unconventional approach to farming when he had a major outbreak of mastitis 13 years ago, with sixteen cases being treated at one time. Amazingly, he did get on top of the problem but swore that he would never subject his cows to the same level of antibiotic treatment again. Pat has transformed his herd's health and fertility while reducing antibiotic use through a homeopathic approach learned over the last 10 years. He is passionate about a naturopathic approach to his herd of 90 dairy cows and now leads the way in Ireland and the UK as a homeopath farmer. | 4/19/26 | Ep 454: A fly on the wall. Listening in on a conversation between 2 brilliant Homeopaths | Some of the most meaningful conversations happen when two experienced homeopaths simply sit down and talk, and that’s exactly what unfolds between Jane and Wiet. As close colleagues with a shared interest in the human psyche and healing, they explore health as more than symptom relief—touching on connection to the body, nature, and the wider influences that shape disease, including transgenerational and collective factors. Their discussion moves through remedy relationships, the roots of vitalism inspired by Paracelsus, practitioner ethics, and the delicate balance between intuition and emerging tools like AI and repertory software. They also reflect on themes of Ginkgo biloba and reconsider the idea of fixed constitutional remedies, viewing health instead as a dynamic flow guided by vital intelligence. | 4/9/26 | Ep 447: HRI: How does homeopathy work? - with Dr Alex Tournier | Something about homeopathy that often gets questioned begins to make more sense when you hear it through the lens of science, and that’s exactly what this conversation with Dr. Alex Tournier brings into focus. Alex shares how his journey started during a struggle with chronic fatigue, when a simple homeopathic remedy led to a surprising recovery and sparked his curiosity. With his background in physics, he explains the role of water, its unique properties, and how it may store and transmit information through oscillatory patterns. We also talk about the skepticism around homeopathy, the importance of experimental evidence across biological systems, and the ongoing work at Homeopathic Research Institute to build a stronger scientific dialogue. It’s a grounded, thoughtful conversation that invites a more open-minded look at how homeopathy might work. Episode Highlights:05:05 - Dr. Alex Tournier's Background and Journey into Homeopathy10:52 - The Role of Water in Homeopathy12:05 - Exploring Homeopathy's Mechanism of Action18:04 - Quantum Electrodynamics and Water Properties24:41 - Oscillatory Patterns and Biological Interaction30:49 - Challenges in Homeopathy Research35:36 - Consciousness and Field Effects in Homeopathy40:14 - The Homeopathic Research Institute (HRI) Overview44:38 - Thoughts on Skepticism and Open-Mindedness About my Guests:Dr. Alexander Tournier is a physicist and interdisciplinary researcher known for his work in the biophysics of water and complementary medicine research. He studied physics at Imperial College London and later pursued advanced theoretical physics at University of Cambridge. He completed his PhD in biophysics at University of Heidelberg, where his research focused on water-protein interactions and the physical properties of water in biological systems. Following his academic training, Dr. Tournier spent about a decade working with Cancer Research UK, conducting interdisciplinary research that applied physics and mathematics to biological questions. His work during this period strengthened his interest in understanding complex biological systems and the role that water plays in living organisms. In 2007, he founded the Homeopathy Research Institute, an international organization dedicated to promoting scientific research in homeopathy and complementary medicine. He later became a scientific collaborator at the University of Bern, where he continues to explore the physics of water and its possible relevance to biology and medicine. Homeopathy at Wellie level - Annie Batchelor and Jayne Lyons | What started as a simple conversation over coffee grew into a global movement teaching farmers how to use homeopathy in everyday animal care. I sat down with Annie Batchelor and Jayne Lyons from Homoeopathy at Wellie Level (HAWL) to talk about their journeys into homeopathy and how their work is helping farmers and pet owners approach animal health differently. We explored how their courses are designed to make homeopathy practical and accessible. Annie also shared a powerful real-life example of a farmer dramatically reducing vet costs through simple remedies, showing just how impactful this approach can be. Beyond the training, what stood out most was the strong global community they’ve built—one that continues to support and guide people long after the course ends. Episode Highlights:03:59 - Founder Chris Lees inspired direction06:05 - “I finally felt at home”11:52 - Leaving army for new calling18:01 - Global Reach of Homeopathy Education20:24 - King Charles and Homeopathy24:42 - Course Details and Structure28:53 - Learning starts with strong foundation32:53 - Massive drop in veterinary expenses38:23 - Field Study on Worms in Livestock43:22 - HAWL’s Contact Information and Community Support About my Guests:Annie Batchelor is a highly experienced homeopath based in Salisbury, Wiltshire, with over 30 years in practice treating patients of all ages and species. Working alongside veterinary professionals, she often supports cases where conventional approaches have fallen short. Her work spans a remarkable range—from farm and companion animals to reptiles and even fish—reflecting her deep passion for animal care. Annie was part of HAWL from its very beginning, contributing to its foundation, mission, and teaching, and continues to play an active role today. Having previously run a well-regarded professional homeopathy licentiateship course, Annie shifted her focus from formal teaching a decade ago to more hands-on mentorship, successfully guiding apprentices into becoming registered practitioners. Through HAWL, she has spent over 25 years teaching farmers and animal carers, drawing inspiration from their practical approach and real-world challenges. As the resident academic, she leads foundational teaching for both in-person and international online courses, supported by a growing global network of practitioners and vets. Annie is currently leading a field trial on worms, with plans to expand it into a large-scale study based on early results. Jayne Lyons was introduced to homeopathy at a young age and has used it throughout her life, including during her pregnancy. Inspired by her personal experience, she went on to study at the Welsh School of Homeopathy, qualifying as a Registered Homeopath after five years of training. She now serves as Secretary for Homoeopathy at Wellie Level (HAWL), where she helps teach the responsible use of homeopathy to farmers and animal owners. Before transitioning into homeopathy, Jayne had a successful and fulfilling career as a Commissioned Officer in the British Army. Following the birth of her daughter, her path shifted toward supporting others through physical, mental, and emotional healing. She works with a wide range of concerns—from acute injuries to chronic illness and pregnancy support—and considers it a privilege to be part of her clients’ wellbeing journeys. Alongside homeopathy, Jayne incorporates oligotherapy trace elements, creates creams and ointments using Neal’s Yard products, and promotes aloe vera–based products from Forever to support a holistic approach to health and wellness. | 2/25/26 | Throwback Thursday Ep 156: Centre for Homeopathic Education with Marcus Fernandez | Why is it important to study homeopathy, and why now? In this episode, we'll speak with Marcus to learn more about The Centre for Homeopathic Education, which gives students the chance to reflect on their progress on a psychological, emotional, and spiritual level through both self-development and group work and become successful in their homeopathic practice. We'll also talk about the future of homeopathy and how anyone who is just learning about homeopathy or wants to become a homeopath can get involved. Marcus Fernandez is the founder and principal of The Centre for Homeopathic Education and has been practicing and teaching homeopathy for the last twenty-six years. Marcus felt there wasn’t yet a homeopathic training course that offered its students an in-depth understanding of both classical and practical modern approaches to homeopathy. He wanted to make homeopathy accessible to all by offering short courses for complete beginners and longer-term licentiate practitioner degree level courses for those who would like to become professional homeopaths. He is passionate about facilitating a community for homeopaths and those who are interested in homeopathy. CHE does this by regularly organizing seminars, conferences, webinars, and postgraduate training courses and by creating an active community on Facebook.
