| 10/14/26 | Episode 331: The Hunt for Red October | Clear the decks, sound the klaxon and alert the Admiralty - Saints have sink the Skates! Hampshire is red and white once again after Southampton edged out Portsmouth 1-0 in the South Coast Derby, leaving our bitter rivals to navigate their way home through a sea of misery. On this week's In That Number, Tom takes the reigns and celebrates the victory, leaving Pompey with nothing to BRAGG about. Tom is joined by Kevin and Tim who enjoy the south coast supremacy once again. They dissect the performance and also give their predictions for the quick turnaround against Norwich and Bolton in this upcoming week. The Saints are marching, Pompey are sinking, and there's only one team ruling the south coast! Listen now - because a win over Portsmouth deserves to be celebrated like we've just won the cup. | 10/1/26 | Episode 330: FanCast VII | It's international break, Southampton aren't playing, and.... there's still no Tonda news. But fear not, because In That Number has you covered to cure your matchday blues. This week, Tom rides solo and swaps match reports for match shirts and welcomes a special guest: Kit Chat Matt Matt joins Tom to talk all things kits - from his love of classics, stories behind them, to his brilliant content and what makes a kit go from "That's nice" to "I absolutely need that in my wardrobe." But it's not all kit-centric, they can't go the entire episode without taking Saints, they also take a step back and look at Saints' season so far. Are they happy with what they've seen? Who's impressed? If the season so far were a football shirt, would we be buying it, wearing it proudly, or sending it straight back to the club shop? No fixtures. No Tonda news. No problem. Just another episode of In That Number - now available in several different sizes. | 9/21/26 | Episode 329: Die Another Away Day | It's another away day, another defeat and another opportunity to ask.... what the bloody hell is going on on the road? Saints travelled to Wrexham and returned empty-handed after a frustrating 2-1 defeat, despite dominating large part of the game and created enough chances to take all three points. So is there an actual problem with Saints away from home? Why can we look so convincing at St. Mary's but struggle to turn performances into points on the road? Is it concentration, mentality, game management, defending set pieces, finishing chances.... or are we just cursed to spend the season travelling around the country throwing away points? With no match to preview, Ray, Kevin and Tom turn their attentions to the Tonda situation, with the boss expected to learn the outcome of the FA's investigation during the international break. What punishment could be coming his way, and what could it mean for the club moving forward? All that, plus the usual nonsense, arguments, overreactions and attempts to work out how Saints can go from home superheroes to away day villains. At least James Ward-Prowse is back! | 9/14/26 | Episode 328: To Kill a Soccerbird | Saints have gone full Attenborough this week, putting two of the Championship's feathered friends firmly on the endangered species list! First up, the Swans were well and truly plucked as Saints put table-topping Swansea City to the sword with a superb 3-1 victory at St. Mary's. Finn Azaz, Cyle Larin and Léo Scienza got amongst the goals as we turned the Swans into sitting ducks. And just when we thought the aviary might have been spared, along came Bristol City's Robins. They didn't chirp for long. A rampant Saints followed up the Swansea win with a thumping 4-1 victory over Bristol City, with Larin helping himself to another two goals before Kuryu Matsuki and Finn Azaz completed the bird massacre. That's two birds down in four days. The Saints have gone from panic over throwing away leads to apparently deciding that anything with wings is fair game. Elsewhere, the trio of Ray, Kevin and the returning Tom look at Cyle Larin's Golden Boot charge, Saints' home form and from Welsh birds to Welsh dragons (they have wings) - as Saints head to The Racecourse Ground. Wrexham will be desperate for a response after a brutal 6-0 defeat at West Ham, while Saints arrive with confidence sky-high after putting seven goals past Swansea and Bristol City across their last two games. Can the Saints now slay the dragon? Or will Wrexham breathe fire and bring us crashing back down? All that, plus the usual ITN nonsence, arguments, overreactions and probably at least one completely unnecessary bird pun. Episode 328 - To Kill a Soccerbird. Two birds down. One dragon to go. | 9/7/26 | Episode 327: Draws | In That Number 327: DRAWS: You're Gonna Need a Bigger Lead The Saints have discovered a new and deeply frustrating way to navigate the Championship: taking the lead and then forgetting how to play football. We panic our way through back-to-back 1-1 draws against Birmingham City and Lincoln City, as Saints twice found themselves ahead, only to surrender the advantage and leave two wins sitting on the sidelines. So, is it points gained or four points thrown in the bin? They discuss the performances, the missed opportunities and whether Saints have developed an unhealthy addiction to making things harder than they need to be. The Transfer Roundabout makes one final spin as the window slams shut. They run through the last-minute arrivals, departure, and whether Saints have done enough business to strengthen the squad. Then it's back to the Championship, with two huge games at St. Mary's on the horizon. First up, table-toppers Swansea City, before Bristol City roll into town. Can Saints finally learn how to protect a lead, turn draws into wins and get the season properly moving in the right direction. Two games. Two leads. Two draws. How big does this lead need to be? | 8/31/26 | Episode 326: Little Prowse at St. Mary's | From Carabao Cup humiliation to a five-star demolition job - it's been quite the week at St. Mary's. Ray and Kevin kick things off by welcoming back James Ward-Prowse after three years away, and then trying to make sense of the brutal 4-1 defeat to West Ham. A night where absolutely nothing seemed to go right. Thankfully, just a few days later, Saints remembered how to play football! The duo look back on the sensational 5-1 thrashing of Millwall, with Saints putting on a performance packed with goals, attacking football and, most importnantly, something resembling defensive competence followinf West Ham. This was exactly the response everyone needed. It's also time for another spin on the Transfer Roundabout. With the window entering its final stages, they discuss the latest arrivals, departures and rumours surrounding the club. Finally, there are two trips on the road to preview. First up, it's Birmingham City, as Saints head to St. Andrew's looking to build on the Millwall result. Then it's another trip north to face the mighty Lincoln City. Yes, the word 'minnows may or may not have been used several times during the recording. Can Southampton turn two away games into six points and keep that momentum going? All this, plus the usual opinions, arguments, questionable predictions and plenty of Saints-related nonsense. Up the Saints! Learn more about your ad choices. | 8/24/26 | Episode 325: Divin Retribution | Ray and Kevin are back for another episode of In That Number, and this time, there's something to cheer about. The lads look back on Southampton's 3-1 win over Stoke City at St. Mary's - a much-needed three points after the Watford disappointment and a performance that gives fans something to smile about. There's also plenty to discuss off the pitch, with the latest transfer news taking centre stage - including the ongoing saga surrounding Taylor Harwood-Bellis, as interest in the defender continues to generate plenty of headlines following his Stoke omission. Then it's time to look ahead, because Saints have two huge games coming up. First up, West Ham United visit St. Mary's in the second round of the Carabao Cup, before attention switches back to the Championship and a big clash against Millwall. Knowing Saints, this is probably enough drama for now. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices | 1h 23m 42s | ||||||
| 8/17/26 | Episode 324: Never Mind the Bollocks | The Championship is back and unfortunately it starts with a sour note. The gang dissect Saints' opening day defeat at Watford. They look at what went wrong, the positives to take from the second half, Cyle Larin's goal and whether Saints were unlucky not to come away with something after a much-improved second half. There's transfer chat too, as they take another ride on the Transfer Roundabout. They discuss the latest rumours and potential incomings and outgoings as Saints look to shape the squad for another long campaign. They say goodbye to Shea Charles, with the midfielder completing his move to Fulham in a deal worth up to £30m. There's no denying it leaves another hole in the squad. There's time to turn their attention to Stoke City and the first home game of the season. Can Saints bounce back, get St. Mary's rocking and put that Watford defeat right? They end with Fantasy Football chat. In That Number Podcast email: [email protected] X: @NumberPodcast Facebook/Instagram: inthatnumberpodast Learn more about your ad choices. | 8/10/26 | Episode 323: Two Goals, One Cup | The whole gang is back! The new season is officially underway, and the boys are back together to celebrate Saints getting their competitive campaign off to a winning start. They look back at Southampton's 2-0 Carabao Cup victory over Colchester United, including goals from Cyle Larin and Romeo Akachukwu, who grabbed his first senior goal for the club. It's time for a spin on the transfer roundabout, as they catch up on all the lastest transfer news, rumours and comings and goings. And finally, attention turns to the Championship opener against Watford, as the lads preview the first league test of the new campaign and ask the big question..... just how good can Saints be this season?
