| 6/24/26 | ![]() Kids Bible Stories - #419: Not Dead, but Asleep - Mark Part 18 | Mark series · Part 18 | Scripture: Mark 5:35–43 The messengers arrive with the worst news a father could ever hear: Jairus's little girl has died. "Why bother the teacher anymore?" But Jesus turns to the heartbroken dad and says, "Don't be afraid; just believe." Together we walk the long, silent road to Jairus's house and witness one of the most tender moments in the Gospel of Mark — Jesus taking a little girl by the hand and calling her back to life. Jairus came asking for a healing. Jesus gave him something far greater. A gentle, hope-filled episode for talking with your kids about a hard subject — death — and the One who is stronger than it. In This Episode "Not dead but asleep" — and why the mourners laughed A gentle look at "chronological snobbery": the people of Jesus' day knew exactly what death was — they weren't gullible The Big Idea This story answers the question the disciples first asked back in the storm — "Who is this?" — Jesus is the One with power over death itself. And He uses that power tenderly: mighty enough to raise the dead, gentle enough to hold a little girl's hand. It points us forward to Jesus' own death and resurrection, and to the hope for everyone who trusts Him. Support either way = Shout outs 1. ad-free episodes + Coloring page + more OR 2. | 6/24/26 | ![]() Your Daily Prayer - A Prayer to Be a Bold Witness for Christ | A beach day, a grandmother apologizing for her grandchildren wandering over to play, and an unexpected conversation that suddenly became an open door for the gospel. In this encouraging and practically grounded episode, Emily Rose Massey shares how a stranger's boldness with gospel tracts sparked her own courage to speak the truth in love to a woman she had just met. What followed was a real, honest conversation about Jesus — met with some pushback, and ultimately with a genuine thank you. And on the drive home, a beautiful conversation with her sons about why being ready to talk about Jesus matters. 1 Peter 3:15 calls every believer to always be prepared to give a reason for the hope within them — with gentleness and respect. Emily unpacks what that preparation actually looks like: filling our hearts and minds with Scripture, praying specifically for evangelistic opportunities, and fearing God more than we fear the discomfort of rejection or embarrassment. Sharing the gospel, she reminds us, is not about winning an argument. It is about seeing the person in front of us as a soul who desperately needs the hope that only Jesus Christ can offer. That perspective changes everything about how we speak, how we listen, and how we love. Today's Bible Verse "...but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect..."— 1 Peter 3:15, ESV Ponder Today Boldness for the gospel begins with fearing God more than people. The hesitation most of us feel about sharing our faith is rooted in the fear of rejection, offense, or embarrassment. But 1 Peter 3:15 calls us to honor Christ as holy in our hearts first — and that reverence is what displaces the fear of people. Always being prepared means actively filling your heart with God's Word. Jesus said that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34). If our hearts are full of Scripture, we will have something true and life-giving to offer when the moment comes. The Holy Spirit empowers what we feel inadequate to do. We do not have to have perfectly polished words or airtight theological arguments. The Spirit supplies grace and wisdom in the moments we feel clumsy, intimidated, or unsure. A Prayer for You Today Heavenly Father, help me to have eyes to see the opportunities around me to share the hope within me. Even when people are eager to reject Your message, let that not be a roadblock to what You have called me to do as Your disciple. I rest in Your grace to empower me when I feel intimidated or embarrassed. Help me to fear and honor You more than people. Give me a hunger for Your Word so that I am always prepared to tell others about You and Your ways. Thank You for saving me and calling me to share Your great redeeming love with others. In Jesus' name, Amen. Don't Miss an Episode If today's prayer stirred a fresh boldness in your heart to share the hope you carry, we'd love to stay connected. From writing his first song in elementary school to reaching #1 on the Billboard charts, Tedashii shares how grief transformed his entrepreneurial ambition—and how losing his one-year-old son Chase became the defining moment that changed everything he was building toward. Tedashii opens up about the difference between running from something, running to something, and the third road God placed before him: running for something. He shares his vision for a nonprofit called Chase Life, his passion for dismantling the shame narrative that holds entrepreneurs back, and why the church's next great revival may depend on artists and business leaders heralding the name of Christ with excellence. Tedashii (born Tadashi—a Japanese name meaning loyal, faithful, true, and correct) grew up biracial in Texas, discovered Christ at Baylor University, and went on to become one of Christian hip hop's most recognized voices through Reach Records alongside Lecrae. Today he's expanding into public speaking, acting, filmmaking, and nonprofit work, all anchored by the conviction that what he's called to do, nobody else can do. Key Topics: From missionary-minded musician to intentional entrepreneur—and what made the shift click Why authenticity in creativity transcends listenership and becomes a two-way highway The moment Tedashii's son Chase passed away—and how grief redirected his entire entrepreneurial vision Running from something vs. running to something vs. running for something Identity, Imago Dei, and why the enemy uses shame to hinder the entrepreneur Notable Quotes: "I decided to learn how to meet the needs of people, and that made me an entrepreneur." — Tedashii "There's so much pressure on arriving to the thing you're running to, to help you battle the demons that you're running from. And now because I'm running for something, getting to the things I'm running to doesn't, it's no pressure on it anymore." — Tedashii "You're a lousy someone else, but the best you there is. There is not another you. You are a rarity." — Tedashii | 27m 52s | ||||||

Women in their 40s are coming to therapy not because life is unraveling, but to rediscover who they are. Therapist Niro Feliciano, a Today Show regular, calls this process excavating, pulling back layers of output, caretaking, and self-doubt to find the woman underneath. In this episode of Smart Girl Summer, Niro and I talk about the real reasons women hesitate to bet on themselves, where those self-limiting beliefs actually start (yes, middle school makes an appearance), and the two questions every woman needs to start asking herself right now. What You Will Learn in This Episode Why so many women over 40 are seeking therapy, and what is driving the shift Ask the two questions Niro uses to help clients reconnect with what they truly want. | 6/22/26 | ![]() Don't Mom Alone Podcast - The Truth About Mom Burnout: Mental Load, Emotional Labor, and Letting Go of Perfection :: Dr. Morgan Cutlip [Ep 578] | Motherhood has never come with more information, advice, and expectations than it does today. Every scroll through social media offers another parenting expert, another strategy, and another reminder of what we "should" be doing. While access to information can be helpful, it can also leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and wondering if we're ever doing enough. In this powerful conversation, Dr. Morgan Cutlip explores the invisible mental and emotional load that so many moms carry. From managing household responsibilities to regulating emotions, coordinating schedules, and trying to create the perfect childhood, the pressure can feel relentless. We discuss why comparison is a natural human tendency, how expectations formed throughout our lives can quietly shape our parenting, and why unmet expectations often become the roots of resentment. Dr. Morgan shares practical ways to have honest conversations with your partner about parenting pressures and the frustrations that keep surfacing. One of the most meaningful parts of this conversation is the idea of choosing a parenting anchor. Instead of trying to excel in every area, what if you focused on one thing that matters most in this season? Having an anchor gives us something steady to return to when the noise and expectations start pulling us in every direction. Most importantly, this episode is an invitation for moms to share their real stories. When we talk honestly about the challenges, frustrations, and growing pains of motherhood, we help other women realize they are not alone. The more we pull back the curtain on the realities of parenting, the less power shame, guilt, and comparison have over us.If you've ever felt weighed down by the mental load of motherhood, struggled with unrealistic expectations, or wondered if everyone else has it figured out, this conversation is for you. In This Episode We Discuss: The three zones of energy: physical, mental, and emotional Why emotional labor is often the most draining part of motherhood How information overload is making parenting feel harder Expectations, resentment, and relationship challenges after becoming parents Practical conversations couples can have about parenting pressures Choosing a parenting anchor for your current season The concept of intensive mothering and the guilt it creates Raising resilient kids without burning yourself out The power of sharing authentic stories and supporting one another Connect with Dr. Morgan Cutlip: Website: Dr. Morgan Cutlip Instagram: Dr. Morgan Cutlip | Mental Load, Marriage and Motherhood (@drmorgancutlip) Links Mentioned: A Better Share: By Morgan Cutlip [book] Love Your Kids Without Losing Yourself [book] The MomCo [mom ministry] Better Share [quiz] Motherhood Reflection Guide [pdf] Related Episodes: Unpacking Moms’ Mental Load :: Dr. Morgan Cutlip [Ep 503] From Overwhelmed to Anchored: Replacing the Lies of Motherhood with God’s Truth :: Erica Gwynn [Ep 544] <a href="https://heathermacfadyen.com/2023/12/11/organize-your-mental-load-laure | 51m 15s | ||||||
