About this episode
Pastor Chad McDonald discusses Psalm 120 and the spiritual journey of longing for a heavenly home.
May 24th, 2026 Pastor chad McDonald This week, we begin an overview of the Psalms of Ascent, beginning with Psalm 120. Three times each year the people of Israel would ascend to Jerusalem to worship. The ascent was not only geographical but also spiritual. It was a “going home” for the nation. These psalms were sung as the people made their way up to Jerusalem, and this first psalm was a song that demonstrated their longing to return to Zion. In this psalm, we will see that the psalmist is homesick. He has spent too much time in the world, and he wants to go home. You have probably been there, too. There have been times when you have probably been homesick, geographically or spiritually. I pray you will join us this weekend as we begin our ascent with the psalmist, and as we turn our attention to our heavenly home. In Christ, Pastor Chad
