| 6/19/26 | ![]() When the Load Feels Too Heavy | Does your load feel too heavy right now? While responsibilities like work, parenting, relationships, and service can fill our plates, often it's the other things that add the most weight. In today's podcast, we discuss 5 things that add weight to our loads. Responsibilities Worries Expectations Emotional Backpacks Other people's "stuff" We will discuss each of these and how they can all add up to the weight that we feel. We will also discuss how to help manage that weight and load. We will talk about making two lists: My responsiblities Things I'm worried about but can't contol. Most importantly, we'll reflect on Christ's invitation to those who are "heavy laden" and how learning to surrender our burdens can bring greater peace, strength, and clarity. If you've been feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or emotionally exhausted, this episode offers a reminder to get clear on what it is that is adding weight and reminding us all that we don't have to carry everything alone. Questions to consider as you listen: What am I carrying right now? Which burdens belong to me, and which do not? What might I need to place in the Savior's hands? Join me as we explore how to lighten the load and find greater peace in the middle of life's demands. | — | ||||||

| 2/13/26 | ![]() Bonus Replay Interview with Jeff Brabant | Welcome to the Bonus Replay of my Interview with Jeff Brabant! Jeff was my son Dylan's baseball coach at Miles Community College in Miles City, Montana. Besides being an amazing coach, he was again, like Jason, a good human with so much wisdom and perspective. One of the main things I loved about Jeff and his coaching style with the BOAC he had with each player. BOAC stands for a "bit of a chat." He'd have a one-on-one chat with each player discussing not just baseball, but ALL things. Jeff knew that his players had a whole lot of other stuff in life, like school, family, and work. It wasn't just baseball. He treated the players like humans, like family, and he loved them like his own. I felt that when I met him, and I saw that when Dylan played for him. We dive into acknowledging others' contributions to your life and your success. He said in a Facebook post, "A clock is worthless without its second hand." Listen in as we dig into this concept as we apply it to our homes, families, work, and communities! | — | ||||||
| 2/13/26 | ![]() Bonus Replay Managing Weakness with Jason Hunt | Jason Hunt is a human physiology professor at BYU Idaho, a husband, father, and lover of motorcycles! Besides teaching in the classroom, Jason also speaks to audiences about managing and overcoming weaknesses through deliberate actions of humility, self-love, and love for others. He uses his knowledge of the human body and human behavior and the gospel of Jesus Christ to help others understand emotions and coping mechanisms we use to find relief. We learn about the "room" that we enter when we are trying to escape uncomfortable emotions, how to leave the "room" using the ACE acronym, and how to act deliberately based on our values system to have humility, love for ourselves, and love for others. This interview is POWERFUL and will help you see the patterns and behaviors of yourself and others in a different light. One that will invite growth, learning, self-discovery, and change. | 2/13/26 | ![]() Teaching and Learning 300 Episodes Later | Welcome to today's podcast! With the celebration of today's episode, number 300, we are reviewing the top episodes of Lifting the Lifter's! First, Managing Weakness with Jason Hunt. In this episode, we talk about our weaknesses and how we typically handle them, with coping strategies and mechanisms. All in an effort to avoid uncomfortable emotion. We use the ACE acronym, acknowledge, connect, and engage, to help us when we are in that unhealthy place to move forward and upward. We also discuss avoiding idle time and using deliberate actions to help us maintain a path of growth and progression. The second-highest podcast is an interview I did way back in the beginning with Jeff Brabant. I did this interview and then also did a replay because it is so good. BOAC stands for a "bit of a chat." This episode was full of nuggets of wisdom for us all! Third top episode: Interview with my brother-in-law and sister about his battle with cancer. It was raw and real. Luke was diagnosed with lung cancer that shocked us all. He has never smoked and has been a healthy, rough-and-tough hunter and dad his whole life. The interview with him and my sister was full of tenderness, love, miracles, and hope. If you or a loved one is struggling right now with a diagnosis, this one is good. Henry Ford said: "Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young." Aging is a journey of accumulating wisdom and new experiences, not just years, allowing us to become more authentic versions of ourselves. Keep learning and growing! | 2/6/26 | ![]() Your Reactions Are Trying to Protect You | Have you ever noticed how fast you react sometimes, before you even have a chance to think? Recently, I had an allergic reaction to some jewelry, and it turned into the perfect reminder of how our bodies (and our nervous systems) are always trying to protect us. In this episode, we're talking about the difference between reacting and responding, why our brains go into autopilot under stress, and why your reactions aren't a personal failure; they're learned survival habits. I'm sharing this in a very real, very human way, and we'll explore what to do when you don't actually like how you show up in those moments. We'll talk about how to create a little space between the trigger and your response, how to get curious instead of critical with yourself, and how small, simple pauses can start to change the way you move through your relationships and your life. If you've ever thought, "Why do I keep reacting like this?" this episode is for you! | — | ||||||
| 1/30/26 | ![]() Your Guide to Only Going a Little Crazy | There are those times in our lives when we have big events and projects that are causing us some stress and some stretching, but then there are also just the day-to-day happenings that can get us off balance as well! We all need a little help and reminders on how to handle the stressors and loads we carry to give us some stability and traction! This episode will do just that! In our Guide to Going Only a Little Crazy, we discuss three ways to keep it all together. Rocking our routines. Controlling the controllables Receiving Joy These three steps will help keep up regulated, grounded, and decrease the stress and tension to help us be better able to think, process, connect, and problem solve! As you listen, think about your routines, your controllables, and areas of joy, and then make some adjustments to help you feel calm, confident, and happy! | — | ||||||
| 1/23/26 | ![]() Space for Growth | In this episode, I share my word for the year: Space. We discuss why it's become one of the most important shifts I hope to make for my nervous system, my relationships, and my emotional health. Drawing on Viktor Frankl's quote, "Between stimulus and response there is a space," we explore how most of us are living without that pause, and how that lack of space shows up as burnout, anxiety, people-pleasing, emotional reactivity, and chronic overwhelm. You'll learn: How living in constant hurry rewires your nervous system Why your reactions aren't personality flaws, they're survival responses A powerful visual metaphor for understanding your emotional triggers Four simple ways to create more space in your daily life How intentional pauses lead to growth, freedom, and better relationships If you want to stop rushing past your life and start responding with clarity and self-trust, this episode will help you begin! | — | ||||||
| 1/16/26 | ![]() What is the Condition of Your Heart? | In this episode, we explore the condition of our hearts! Is it hard, soft, moldable, or rigid and unflexible? We discuss the condition of our hearts and see how they are connected to our emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual selves. The heart is more than a pump; it's a regulator and communicator, influencing how the body responds to stress, safety, and recovery. We will discuss how assessing the condition of our hearts can be an amazing indicator of where we can make some adjustments. We will use the terms: Listen to your heart. Look for hearts. And live from your heart to navigate our course and help us along our way! This episode is an invitation to compassion, not a correction, to understand how protection can turn into rigidity and how softness and strength can coexist. Because a whole heart isn't a perfect heart, it's a responsive one. | — | ||||||
| 1/9/26 | ![]() Who's Voice Are You Listening To This Year? | In this bold and empowering New Year episode, we explore the questions that quietly shapes every goal, decision, and direction in your life: Who are you telling yourself you are? And Who's voice are you listening to? President Nelson reminds us that the way we think about our identity influences almost every decision we will ever make. So before we rush into new plans and resolutions, we are going to take time to anchor into truth, identity, and divine worth. We talk about: • why identity determines direction • who and what you're listening to and how those inputs shape your confidence • how the adversary targets identity through subtle thoughts • the "Hall of Mirrors" effect and why other people's perceptions cannot define you • choosing self-love rooted in eternal truth, not comparison or pressure You'll leave this episode feeling clearer, stronger, and grounded in who you truly are: a child of God with purpose, power, and divine potential. Plus, I give you two simple but powerful challenges to help you step into this year confident and aligned with truth. | — | ||||||
