| 6/25/26 | ![]() YANKEES POSTCAST: 'Three Big Swings' helps Yankees Beat Tigers | Paul Goldschmidt had two home runs and Jasson Domínguez hit a go-ahead, two-run shot in the sixth inning off Tarik Skubal, lifting the New York Yankees to a 4-2 series-winning victory over the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday night. Skubal (3-4) tied a career high by giving up three home runs, allowing that many in a game for the first time since 2021. The two-time reigning Cy Young Award winner gave up only one other hit, didn't walk a batter and had nine strikeouts over six innings. Ryan Weathers (3-5) allowed two runs - one earned - six hits and walked two while striking out six in six innings. Yerry De los Santos and Fernando Cruz combined for two innings of relief and David Bednar pitched the ninth for his 16th save. Skubal got off to a rough start with three straight balls and Goldschmidt took advantage, hitting a 3-1 high fastball over the left-field wall. In Goldschmidt’s next at-bat in the third, he hit a hanging curveball to left center for his 13th homer - three more than he had last season - just after Skubal had an injury scare. Skubal appeared to hurt his groin while pitching to Max Schuemann, but stayed in the game. After giving up a second homer to Goldschmidt, the 2024 pitching Triple Crown winner retired nine straight - striking out seven of them - before Ben Rice hit a single and Dominguez followed with a full-count, two-out homer to make it 4-2. Yankees: Open a four-game series Thursday night at Boston with RHP Cam Schlittler (8-3, 1.71 ERA) expected to face Red Sox LHP Connelly Early (6-5, 3.64). | 6/24/26 | ![]() YANKEES POSTCAST: Jazz & Co Help Yankees Snap Skid | Jazz Chisholm Jr. homered, drove in two runs and scored twice and the New York Yankees beat the Detroit Tigers 4-3 on Tuesday night. Chisholm scored on Jose Caballero's RBI groundout in the fourth inning before hitting a two-run homer in the sixth as New York ended a three-game losing streak and stopped Detroit's four-game winning streak. Carlos Rodón (4-2) picked up the win, allowing three runs and six hits with two walks in 5 1/3 innings. Three relievers finished, with David Bednar getting the final four outs for his 15th save. Casey Mize (2-5) gave up four runs and eight hits and a walk in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out six while giving the Tigers their 27th straight game in which the starting pitcher allowed four or fewer runs. Detroit took the lead with two runs in the third. Zach McKinstry hit a one-out single and took third when Ben Malgeri singled in his first major-league at-bat. McKinstry scored on Rodon's wild pitch and Malgeri came home on Dillon Dingler's base hit. After Caballero made it 2-1 with his run-scoring groundout in the fourth, Cody Bellinger threw out Riley Greene at the plate to end the bottom of the inning. The Yankees went up 4-2 with three runs in the sixth. With one out, Paul Goldschmidt beat out a rare infield single before Chisholm homered to right-center. Caballero's two-out single brought Tyler Holton out of the bullpen, but Austin Wells doubled to give the Yankees a two-run lead. Dingler and Matt Vierling started the bottom of the inning with back-to-back doubles, cutting New York's lead to 4-3. The teams finish their three-game series Wednesday night with Tigers ace LHP Tarik Skubal (3-3, 3.02) facing LHP Ryan Weathers (2-5, 4.13). Join JAY BERMAN for the Yankees Postcast!!! | — | ||||||

| 6/19/26 | ![]() YANKEES POSTCAST: Benintendi BLAST sinks Yanks late | Andrew Benintendi launched a pinch-hit grand slam off Camilo Doval in the eighth inning Thursday night and the Chicago White Sox ended a nine-game losing streak at Yankee Stadium with a 5-1 victory over New York. Benintendi batted for Randal Grichuk and was Chicago’s third pinch hitter of the inning. He snapped a 1-all tie by driving Doval’s first pitch, a 100 mph sinker, into the right-center seats. It was the fourth career slam for Benintendi, who played 33 games for the New York Yankees in 2022, and his second pinch-hit homer. Benintendi went deep after pinch-hitter Sam Antonacci doubled off Fernando Cruz (4-2). Tim Hill plunked pinch-hitter Jacob Gonzalez and Tristan Peters with pitches before getting an out. The White Sox won in the Bronx for the first time since June 8, 2023. Chicago was outscored 22-7 in the first two games of the three-game series and 58-18 during its skid in the Bronx. Colson Montgomery also homered and made a key defensive play in the seventh before Chicago went ahead. Montgomery tagged out Anthony Volpe trying to stretch a double. Volpe hit a ball over the head of left fielder Junior Perez, but he recovered to make a strong one-hop throw to Montgomery at third base and Volpe was out by several feet. Ryan McMahon hit a tying homer in the third off bulk reliever Sean Burke (4-4), but the Yankees had their four-game winning streak snapped and fell to 9-5 since losing captain Aaron Judge to a fractured right rib. New York also lost Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the fourth when the second baseman fouled a pitch off the area near his groin. Yankees starter Ryan Weathers allowed one run and three hits in 6 1/3 innings. The left-hander struck out eight and walked one. Burke followed Chicago opener Bryan Hudson and permitted one run and five hits while striking out eight over the final 7 1/3 innings. The White Sox won for the fifth time in their last 17 road games and finished 6-5 in an 11-game stretch against the Phillies, Braves, Dodgers and Yankees. | 6/18/26 | ![]() YANKEES POSTCAST: Surging Yankees beat White Sox | Cody Bellinger hit an early homer and finished a triple shy of the cycle, Paul Goldschmidt homered for the third time in four games and the surging New York Yankees used another big inning to beat the Chicago White Sox 10-5 on Wednesday night. After Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart threw out ceremonial first pitches to continue the celebration for the NBA champion New York Knicks, the Yankees won their fourth straight and for the ninth time in 13 games since losing star slugger Aaron Judge indefinitely to a fractured right rib. New York also equaled its largest lead atop the AL East by moving 3 1/2 games ahead of Tampa Bay. Bellinger hit a two-run homer in the first off Anthony Kay (6-2), doubled in the third against the left-hander and started a five-run fifth with a single. Bellinger finished with three hits for the fifth time this season. Goldschmidt capped New York’s big inning with a three-run drive into the right-field seats off reliever Tyler Davis, who entered after Sean Newcomb took a liner hit by Anthony Volpe off his left triceps. Goldschmidt's homer was his 11th, surpassing his total in 146 games last season. Jazz Chisholm Jr. became the fifth Yankees player to reach double-digit homers this year when he went deep in the seventh for a 10-3 lead. José Caballero added a two-run single in the fifth and Volpe hit an RBI triple in the second. Ali Sánchez contributed an RBI single in the second and reached base three times. Carlos Rodón (3-2) allowed three runs and seven hits in five innings against his former team. The lefty struck out seven and walked one. Colson Montgomery hit a three-run homer off Rodón in the third to get the White Sox within 4-3. Montgomery also homered in the eighth for his first career multihomer game. Sam Antonacci homered in the ninth but the White Sox lost their ninth straight game in the Bronx and fell to 5-5 in a challenging stretch of 11 straight against the Phillies, Braves, Dodgers and Yankees. | 6/14/26 | ![]() YANKEES POSTCAST: BIG BLASTS help Yanks take Series from Jays | Ben Rice hit a tiebreaking home run in the ninth inning, José Caballero added a three-run blast and the New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 8-3 on Sunday for their sixth win in seven games. The Yankees won for the seventh time when scoring the go-ahead run in the ninth inning or later. Paul Goldschmidt hit an infield single off Braydon Fisher (2-2) to begin the ninth and advanced on Fisher’s throwing error. After Ryan McMahon ran for Goldschmidt, Rice drilled a 381-foot homer, his 19th. Jasson Domínguez and Jazz Chisholm Jr. walked before Caballero connected off Tommy Nance for his sixth of the season. The AL East-leading Yankees won 3-1 Saturday when Goldschmidt hit a tiebreaking homer in the ninth. Camilo Doval (3-0) struck out two of the three batters he faced in the eighth for the win. Toronto’s Davis Schneider hit a solo home run, his second, but it wasn’t enough for the Blue Jays. Blue Jays manager John Schneider was ejected for arguing with home plate umpire Steven Jaschinski after a balk call against Jeff Hoffman put Chisholm at third base with one out in the eighth. After the argument, Hoffman struck out Max Schuemann and Anthony Volpe to leave Chisholm stranded. Volpe and Ali Sánchez had back-to-back RBI hits in the second. The Blue Jays answered with two-out RBI hits by Kazuma Okamoto in the third and Nathan Lukes in the fourth. Volpe’s two-out single restored New York’s lead in the top of the sixth, but Davis Schneider homered in the bottom half. Blue Jays shortstop Andrés Giménez was scratched because of a sore left wrist. Toronto was without Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (back) for the second straight game. Join JAY BERMAN for the Yankees Postcast!!! | — | ||||||
