Nostalgia & Now

This week, Kelli is pressing play on one of her favorite projects of all time, Kelsea Ballerini’s Grammy-nominated EP, Rolling Up the Welcome Mat! From the highly publicized divorce that inspired it to the deeply personal lyrics and incredible storytelling, Kelli dives into the events leading up to its release and why she believes it’s one of the most beautifully written breakup projects of all time. Plus, she explores the connections to Kelsea’s earlier music, the public back-and-forth, and how six songs became something so much bigger than a response to heartbreak.Listen to the N&N Playlist! - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/71hEXTQHmQGPkRYHyscRVS?si=fa6ee006d718403bJoin the N&N Patreon for more! - www.patreon.com/NostalgiaandNowPod/ Hosted on Acast. This week, Kelli is taking a look back at the millennial partying era, from Marissa Cooper and Jersey Shore to Ke$ha, pregaming, and the glorification of getting wasted. Whether it was the TV shows we watched, the music we listened to, or the movies we loved, it seemed like everything around us was telling us to party as hard as possible. But how much did pop culture influence our relationship with alcohol? Kelli dives into the drinking culture millennials grew up with, the normalization of binge drinking, and why getting blackout drunk was once treated like a rite of passage. Plus, how has our relationship with alcohol changed as we've gotten older? Grab your favorite beverage (alcoholic or not!) and let's get nostalgic!Listen to the nostalgia and now spotify play list here!
