Sermon Notes Resurrection People-Our Work Speaker: Rev. Ho-Ming Tsui Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain. —1 Corinthians 15:58 We are Easter people living in a Friday world, and our work declares that Friday is not the final word. (1) The Resurrection Stirs Our Compassion for the Hurting He executes justice [mishpat] for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. —Deuteronomy 10:18 This is what the Lord Almighty said: “Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. —Zechariah 7:9-10a The Gospel’s Impact: We look at someone in need and we see ourselves. (2) The Resurrection Gives Us Confidence in What We’re Doing The Resurrection proves that death has no grip on the person of Jesus, but also on the work of Jesus. What can I do? 1. Start with the person next to you 2. Pray that God would open your eyes
