| 8/31/26 | #48 Regulated Doesn't Mean Calm | We tend to think being "regulated" means being calm, neutral, and grounded. But when you're using your voice in a new way, or setting a boundary you've never set before, regulation can feel like your heart pounding and your hands shaking — and still be exactly right. In this episode, we talk about the difference between activation and dysregulation, why new isn't the same as wrong, and how to trust yourself through the shaky, uncomfortable middle of doing something different.Enjoyed This Episode? Here are three ways you can support the show:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Leave a Review 💬 Join the Community 📲 Share This Episode Connect With Me + Continue Your HealingIf today’s episode resonated with you, you don’t have to walk the healing journey after betrayal alone. | 8/29/26 | ***BONUS Choosing Different Mini Series: What I Wish I'd Done Differently with my daughters, Mataia and Morgan | In this episode of the Choosing Different mini-series, Hali is joined by her daughters, Mataia and Morgan, for an honest conversation about betrayal trauma's impact on the whole family — not just the marriage. Hali reflects on what she believed she was doing right at the time (staying reassuring, keeping hard details between the adults) and what she's since learned she missed about how her daughters were actually experiencing it. Mataia and Morgan share what that season of family trauma recovery looked like from where they were standing as kids, and how it's shaping the choices they make now as young moms of their own.Together they talk about the protective patterns that form in the middle of survival mode, why validating both the parent's experience and the child's experience matters for real healing, and what it looks like to break old patterns on purpose instead of by accident. The episode closes with an invitation to the Becoming Together mother/daughter retreat.Mentioned in this episode: Join Us: Becoming Together Mother-Daughter Retreat If this conversation resonated with you, we'd love for you to join us in person. | 8/17/26 | #46 "Was It Bad Enough?" — Comparing Pain After Betrayal | Have you ever felt like your betrayal story didn't quite "qualify"? Like it wasn't dramatic enough, or the wrong shape, or somehow not worthy of the healing you needed? In this episode, we talk about the quiet habit of comparing our pain — and why measuring our experience against someone else's tends to minimize suffering rather than ease it. Sparked by a moment in Hali's women's betrayal trauma group, this conversation explores the many forms betrayal takes — emotional affairs, problematic sexual behavior, virtual infidelity, financial betrayal, emotional neglect, and every combination in between — and why each person's history, and the depth of the manipulation they endured, shapes a wound that can't be ranked against anyone else's. You'll hear why you belong in this community exactly as your story is. Betrayal is betrayal. Your pain is valid. Come as you are.Enjoyed This Episode? If this conversation resonated with you, here are three ways you can support the show:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Leave a Review 💬 Join the Community 📲 Share This Episode Connect With Me + Continue Your HealingIf today’s episode resonated with you, you don’t have to walk the healing journey after betrayal alone. | 8/10/26 | #45 One Room at a Time: Healing, Sacred Space, and Coming Home to Yourself After Betrayal | Betrayal has a way of stripping your sense of safety and agency. The truth was hidden from you, the timeline wasn't yours, and the version of life you were living turned out to be something else entirely. So where do you even begin to rebuild trust — especially trust in yourself? In this episode, we start somewhere unexpectedly powerful: the space around you. Not as a verdict on how "together" you are, but as a gentle mirror. We walk room by room — the overflowing closet, the cluttered bedroom, the messy desk, the things you've tolerated so long they turned invisible, the neglected kitchen, the blocked entryway — and explore what each one might be reflecting back about where you're ready to heal. This isn't about a spotless home or shaming yourself for the laundry pile. It's about reclaiming one of the few arenas that is fully yours right now, and using small, finishable acts of order and self-care to rebuild the quiet confidence that betrayal trauma so often takes: I can trust myself, and I can care for myself. If you're navigating life after betrayal and craving a sense of control, grounding, and peace again, this episode offers warm, body-inclusive reflections and two simple invitations to start.Enjoyed This Episode? If this conversation resonated with you, here are three ways you can support the show:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Leave a Review 💬 Join the Community 📲 Share This Episode Connect With Me + Continue Your HealingIf today’s episode resonated with you, you don’t have to walk the healing journey after betrayal alone. | 8/9/26 | ***BONUS Choosing Different Mini Series: Three Words Every Parent Owes Their Child: "I Believe You" | What happens when a child no longer has to convince their parent that their pain was real?In this episode of Choosing Different Mini Series, Hali sits down with her daughter, Morgan Ellsworth, for a short, unscripted conversation about one of the most healing things a parent can offer: belief. They talk about the three quiet ways parents unintentionally dismiss a child's experience - through differing memories, good intentions, and simple unawareness - and why none of those things make a child's pain any less real.Join Us: Becoming Together Mother-Daughter Retreat If this conversation resonated with you, we'd love for you to join us in person. | 8/3/26 | #44 Intimate Partner Betrayal Awareness Day | August 4th is Intimate Partner Betrayal Awareness Day — a day set aside to say out loud what so many of you have been carrying in silence: that what happened to you was real, that it mattered, and that it deserves to be named.Today I'm sitting down with Andrea Rogers. Andrea is a Board Certified Coach and a Certified Partner Coach with APSATS — that's the Association of Partners of Sex Addict Trauma Specialists. She's also a Brainspotting practitioner, the founder of Fully Alive Coaching, and she works with women using something called the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model. And Andrea isn't just doing this work from the outside — she's a betrayal trauma survivor herself, which is a big part of why this conversation matters. If you've ever felt like you were "too much" for reacting the way you did, or wondered if you were losing your mind — this conversation is for you.Enjoyed This Episode? If this conversation resonated with you, here are three ways you can support the show:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Leave a Review💬 Join the Community📲 Share This EpisodeConnect With Me + Continue Your HealingIf today’s episode resonated with you, you don’t have to walk the healing journey after betrayal alone. | 8/1/26 | ***BONUS: Choosing Different Mini Series: The Conversations I Wish Every Parent and Child Could Have with my 2 Adult Daughters, Mataia and Morgan | This is the first episode of the Choosing Different mini-series of conversations between Hali and her two adult daughters, who were both teenagers when their family was in the thick of betrayal and dysfunction. Instead of letting that experience pull them apart, they've been doing the slow, unglamorous work of healing, learning each other again, and trying to break some of the generational patterns they grew up with. They are upfront that they don't have it all figured out. This isn't a highlight reel - it's a real, sometimes messy conversation, shared in case it helps open a door in your own family. In this episode, they talk about what it means to relate to each other as two adults instead of parent and child, how to choose curiosity over criticism, navigating marriage and relationships as an adult child, supporting each other's dreams, showing up emotionally, and, at the heart of it, what healthy repair after a rupture actually looks like. | 7/27/26 | #43 Loving Their Potential, Losing Yourself After Betrayal | There's a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from loving someone's potential. You keep showing up for who they could be while quietly absorbing who they actually are — and somewhere in there, you start to disappear. In this episode, we reframe overfunctioning not as a generosity problem or a character flaw, but as a way of keeping hope alive so that grief stays at arm's length. We explore why grief can feel more dangerous than effort — because effort feels active and hopeful and in our control, while grief feels like giving up. We look at the difference between potential and patterns, and why the more honest question isn't whether someone is capable of meeting a need, but whether they do, consistently, over time, including under stress. Finally, we talk about what it looks like to stop — to grieve the relationship you hoped for so you can see the one you actually have, to tell the difference between deserving to have a need met and believing you have to earn the right to ask, and to step out of the audition altogether. Because you don't earn love by disappearing. Recognizing what you deserve starts the moment you stop trying to earn it.Enjoyed This Episode? If this conversation resonated with you, here are three ways you can support the show:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Leave a Review💬 Join the Community📲 Share This EpisodeConnect With Me + Continue Your HealingIf today’s episode resonated with you, you don’t have to walk the healing journey after betrayal alone. | 7/20/26 | #42 Why Joy Feels Dangerous After Betrayal — And How to Feel Safe Again | After betrayal, the hardest emotion to let yourself feel often isn't sadness or anger — it's joy. A good moment arrives and instead of sinking into it, you brace, waiting for the other shoe to drop. In this episode, I unpack why that happens: how a nervous system wired for protection can read joy as risk, and why bracing against happiness is a survival response rather than a personal failing. We talk about Brené Brown's idea of "foreboding joy," why pain can feel safer than openness, and how healing involves teaching your body that peace and joy aren't traps. Then we get practical, with small, repeatable ways to build your tolerance for feeling good again — no forced gratitude, no pretending you're further along than you are. If you've ever caught yourself flinching at your own happiness, this one's for you.Enjoyed This Episode? If this conversation resonated with you, here are three ways you can support the show:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Leave a Review 💬 Join the Community 📲 Share This Episode Connect With Me + Continue Your HealingIf today’s episode resonated with you, you don’t have to walk the healing journey after betrayal alone. | 7/13/26 | #41 Why You Can't Just Think Your Way Out of Survival Mode After Betrayal | Have you been doing all the healing work, the books, the journaling, the prayer, the deciding to trust again, and your body still won't settle? You're exhausted but can't rest. You're holding everything together on the outside while bracing for the next blow on the inside. If that's you, this episode is a reminder: there is nothing wrong with you.In this episode, I talk about survival mode after betrayal: what happens in the body and nervous system when trauma keeps us in a prolonged state of high alert, and why it so often hides behind competence and caretaking. We explore hypervigilance, the exhaustion you can't rest your way out of, the numbness that can settle in even when life looks good, and the real physical toll of living in chronic stress. Most importantly, we talk about why you can't simply think your way out of survival mode, and why true healing has to include the body, not just the mind or the will. I'll share gentle, practical ways to begin signaling safety to your nervous system, along with an honest reminder about when it's time to lean on a trauma-informed professional. If you've felt broken for not "getting over it" faster, this one is for you.Enjoyed This Episode? If this conversation resonated with you, here are three ways you can support the show:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Leave a Review 💬 Join the Community 📲 Share This Episode Connect With Me + Continue Your HealingIf today’s episode resonated with you, you don’t have to walk the healing journey after betrayal alone. | 7/6/26 | #40 Deal Breakers, Ultimatums, and the Right to Change Your Mind: Redefining Non-Negotiables After Betrayal | We've all said it: "That would be a deal breaker for me." But what happens when the thing you swore you'd never tolerate actually happens, and you find yourself still choosing to stay and work things out?In this episode, we're talking about deal breakers and non-negotiables in betrayal recovery, without the pressure to be tougher or to draw a harder line, and without telling you to abandon your standards. Instead, we explore what it means to make decisions from a place of self-compassion rather than ultimatum. Most of all, this is a reminder that you're allowed to change your mind. As you heal and reconnect with your own inner authority, you'll naturally start to recognize what you can and can't live with, not because you forced a hard line, but because you've grown into your own clarity.Enjoyed This Episode? If this conversation resonated with you, here are three ways you can support the show:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Leave a Review 💬 Join the Community 📲 Share This Episode Connect With Me + Continue Your HealingIf today’s episode resonated with you, you don’t have to walk the healing journey after betrayal alone. | 6/29/26 | #39 Finding Clarity After Betrayal: How to Make Big Decisions When Everything Feels Overwhelming — with Betsy Pake | When betrayal scrambles your sense of what's real, clarity can feel impossible. In this episode, I sit down with coach and master NLP practitioner Betsy Pake to talk about how women find their way back to their own truth when everything feels overwhelming. Betsy works with women navigating the painful question of whether to stay in or leave a marriage, and she brings a refreshingly non-prescriptive approach: the goal isn't to be told what to do, it's to reconnect with what you already know. Whether you're deep in the fog or just starting to come up for air, this conversation offers honest, grounded encouragement for taking the next small step.Connect with Betsy Pake: www.betsypake.comwww.instagram.com/betsypakeUse code "rooted" for 50% off The Bridge. | 6/22/26 | #38 Self-Care Isn't a Bubble Bath: Finding Micro Moments of Healing Throughout Your Day | What if everything you've been taught about self-care is keeping you stuck? In this episode, we reframe self-care as what it actually is — compassionate, essential, and foundational to real healing — not a luxury spa day you earn after you're already burned out.If you've ever set aside a big block of "me time" only to feel like the whole day is ruined the moment it falls apart, this one's for you. We talk about black-and-white thinking around self-care, why crisis-only care leaves you running on empty, and how scattering small, intentional moments throughout your day helps you anchor into your body before you hit the wall — not just after. You'll walk away with a full menu of free, doable micro moments and rituals you can fold into an ordinary, imperfect day: sun on your face, mindful eating, a quick walk, breathwork, soft music, candles and incense, connection with safe people and pets, guided meditation, grounding techniques, and more. This is the mindset shift that turns self-care from an event you attend or miss into a thread you carry all day long.Enjoyed This Episode? If this conversation resonated with you, here are three ways you can support the show:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Leave a Review 💬 Join the Community📲 Share This Episode Connect With Me + Continue Your HealingIf today’s episode resonated with you, you don’t have to walk the healing journey after betrayal alone. You are not alone. And here's what most people don't tell you: that discomfort is not a sign you're doing it wrong. It's a sign you're doing something new.In this episode, we're digging into what boundaries actually are at a body level — not just as a concept to understand, but as something you can feel.
