This week's episode is pretty simple — a deep dive into some aggressive hip hop for the first couple of tracks, then a mellow ending. One key component to playing music is knowing when to put your foot on the gas, like a race car, and knowing when to take your foot off the pedal. I typically tend to rinse tracks in this series, but with various remixes. This episode of The Kat In The Trap, we infuse a little tech house at the beginning and end. In my DJ days at the strip club, I would combine EDM with trap music, which created an energetic vibe for the crowd and entertainers on stage. You can see this also in The 765 Podcast, but The Kat In The Trap tells a different story, often going down more than one rabbit hole or genre of music, much like the Alice in Wonderland storyline it was written after. This was a fun episode of Groove Directive to make. Loaded with tons of remixes and summertime energy.
