| 6/14/26 | ![]() THUS SAITH THE LORD | PROPHECY THE VOICE OF GOD | Series: “Thus Saith The Lord” Sermon: “Listening To The Spirit”The good news is not Jesus and it is not that you get to go to heaven. The good news (GOSPEL) is that God became a man to establish His kingdom on earth.John 8:47 (AMP) “Whoever is of God listens to God. [Those who belong to God hear the words of God.]”The greatest qualification for the next season may not be talent, knowledge, or influence—but the ability to hear.God governs His kingdom through revelation knowledge. Heaven's agenda reaches earth through hearers who SPEAK.1 Timothy 1:18 “This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare,…”Prophecy (prophēteuō):— to speak forth by divine inspiration.Prophecy is simply heaven revealing itself through human vessels. It is God's thoughts becoming audible in the earth.Genesis 1:26 (AMP) “...let them have complete authority ...over all of the earth,…” Matthew 6:9-10 “Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.”Psalm 115:16 “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men.”Psalm 8:6 “You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,...”1 Corinthians 14:1, 39 “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.”“Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.” 1 Corinthians 14:3 (NLT) "But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them.”2 Peter 1:21 "For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." Is there a difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant? Is the a difference between the OT priesthood and the NT priesthood? Is there a difference between the OT king and the NT king?Is there a difference between the OT prophet and the NT prophet?Exodus 20:19 “Then they said to Moses, ‘You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.’”God wanted to speak directly to his people. The people wanted a mediator.Matthew 11:13 “For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.”Old Testament prophecy pointed forward to the mystery. John the Baptist said, “Here He is!”Matthew 11:11 (NLT) “I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is!”Example Of NT Prophets:Acts 15:32 “Now Judas and Silas, themselves being prophets also, exhorted and strengthened the brethren with many words.”Acts 11:28 “Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.”OT Prophets were God’s voice to the people.NT Every believer has the innate ability to hear God’s voice. Prophecy acts as a witness.Operating in the wrong model often expresses unhealthy sense of importance.OT Prophets were often lone rangers.NT Prophets are a servant ministry in the body of Christ. TEAMWe need each other for clarity.Operating in the wrong model causes isolation and pride … “I have a hotline.”Dueteronomy 18:20 “But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.”No room for error.OT Prophets had to be exact.NT Prophets submit there words for the others to judge. Prophesy in part.1 Corinthians 14:29 “Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.”Operating in the wrong model breads deception and disappointment.OT Prophets operated in period of law and judgement.NT Prophecy is consistent with the revelation of Jesus, nature of Father. It’s goal is rooted in redemption.Operating in the wrong model is rooted in condemnation and judgement.Matthew 16:15-19 (MSG) “He pressed them, ‘And how about you? Who do you say I am?’ Simon Peter said, ‘You’re the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus came back, ‘God bless you, Simon, son of Jonah! You didn’t get that answer out of books or from teachers. My Father in heaven, God himself, let you in on this secret of who I really am. And now I’m going to tell you who you are, really are. You are Peter, a rock (Petros). This is the rock (Petra) on which will put together my church, a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out. And that’s not all. You will have complete and free access to God’s kingdom, (keys of NKJV) keys to open any and every door: no more barriers between heaven and earth, earth and heaven. A yes on earth is yes in heaven. A no on earth is no in heaven.”Aligning yourself with the revelation of Jesus as King puts you in a place of privilege, trust, and authority and provides keys to ignite, lock, and loose, resulting in the manifestation of His Kingdom.1. Authority -- Keys are for authorized people. Not waiting outside for the blessing to be opened. Keys are only useful if you know what they correspond to!!!2. Access -- Keys Of The KingdomEnjoy all the benefits of the Fathers house. Fridge privileges! Romans 8:32 “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”3. Ownership -- It’s mine!!! I never beg for what I own. Luke 12:32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom." 4 basic types of NT prophecy:1. Spirit of Prophecy — an atmosphere of prophetic revelation.2. Gift of Prophecy — a gift of the Spirit (not reward) functioning through a believer.3. Office of a Prophet — a gift of a person given to the church to serve and to edify.4. Company Of Prophets — Kingdom Life.1. The Spirit of ProphecyThe Atmosphere of RevelationIn the manifest presence of Jesus People suddenly see:Who God really is — Who they really are — What God is doingA realm where heaven becomes discernible.2. The Gift of Prophecy"To another prophecy..." 1 Corinthians 12:10It is a manifestation of the Spirit not a reward for maturity. Source — Holy SpiritA new believer or a mature believer may prophesy.Paul teaches that the gift of prophecy brings: strength encouragement and comfortThe gift of prophecy turns ordinary conversations into divine encounters: In schools. In businesses. In homes. In grocery stores. The Kingdom advances whenever heaven finds a voice.Prophecy is heaven interrupting earth with encouragement.3. The Office of the ProphetAn Ascension Gift (Person) Given to the Church."He gave some to be apostles, some prophets..." Ephesians 4:11A prophet carries: vision / direction / alignment equippingNot merely revelation, but formation. They create a hunger for the voice of God.Prophets help align the church with heaven's agenda.A prophet is not God's favourite child; a prophet is God's servant to His people.True prophets do not gather followers around themselves; they gather people around Jesus.4. The Company of ProphetsThe entire Church becomes a prophetic community."Would that all the Lord's people were prophets." (Numbers 11:29)What Moses desired, Pentecost accomplished. This is the Company of Prophets functioning:A father speaks life over his children.A wife speaks hope over her husband.A business owner declares Kingdom purpose over employees.A believer prays over a neighbourhood.A church speaks God's destiny over a city.A people whose mouths agree with heaven. The Church is not called merely to observe history. The Church is called to announce heaven into history. We speak:Life over death / Hope over despair / Blessing over curse / Christ over chaos Reconciliation over divisionGod’s promise is looking for a believing voice. The Church is God's prophetic embassy in the earth. We do not speak in order to make God act; we speak because God has acted in Christ. The Kingdom is not coming into force—it is already in force. Prophecy is the announcement of its victory. | 33m 29s | ||||||

Abraham and Sarah — Hagar Jacob — Multiple wives 12 sons WOW! David — incredible king, failed father.1 Kings 1:6 “Now his father, King David, had never disciplined him at any time, even by asking, ‘Why are you doing that?’" Jesus — siblings who didn’t believe in Him at first.Acts 21:8-9 “Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea and stayed at the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the Seven. He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied.”2 Timothy 1:5 (NLT) “I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you.” Generation Of FaithPsychologists say the “emotional blueprint” for relationships, trust, and identity is built in a Childs first three years.Neuroscience shows that during these years the brain forms over a million neural connections per second. Family interactions literally wire the brain.Psalm 22:9-10 (NLT) “Yet you brought me safely from my mother’s womb and led me to trust you at my mother’s breast. I was thrust into your arms at my birth. You have been my God from the moment I was born.”Family doesn’t just raise children, it shapes how they experience reality. In the first three years these three questions get answered:Am I Safe? Am I Valued? Am I Loved?Your starting line is not your finish line.Your childhood may explain you, but it does not have to define you.Family may write the first chapter of your story, but God writes the ending.Psychologist Ann Masten in her book “Ordinary Magic: Resilience in Development”People are resilient and often recover from early adversity when they have:One supportive relationship. — A sense of purpose — Hope for the future1. Know Who You AreJohn 8:14 “Even if I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going;” You are unique. There is no one like you. Be yourself!Jesus secured identity, resulted in confidence.People who don’t know who they are:Get offended easily. Compete constantly. Seek approval endlesslyAn identity secure in Christ, allows you to stop needing everyone to validate you.“The church preaches too much about who we aren’t. Knowing who you now are and Who lives in you is the key to Christian living.” Ryan Rufus2. Practice VulnerabilityJohn 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…”Knowing who you are, where you come from and where you are going frees you to be present and authentic.C. S. Lewis (The Four Loves) “To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”3. Avoid Labelling PeoplePeople don’t appreciate Judgement or Assumptions. We tell ourselves an average of 50 stories a day. We forget they are stories. We tend to reduce people to labels.difficult / lazy / dramatic / unreliable Labels freeze people in their worst moments.God is always doing something bigger in people than what we see. Grace leaves room for growth.4. Excel At PackagingColossians 3:14 “Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.”Don’t be a brown paper bag. Add some bling to the presentation.5. Practice RepairColossians 3:12-13 “Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do."Conflict doesn’t damage relationships a lack of repair does.Healthy relationships are not built on perfection, they are built on repair.“The success or failure of a relationship depends largely on whether repair attempts are noticed and accepted.” John Gottman Repair moments: • “I’m sorry.” • “I didn’t mean that.” • “Can we start over?” • “I value you more than being right.”Judges 11:2- 3 “'You shall have no inheritance in our father’s house, for you are the son of another woman.’ Then Jephthah fled from his brothers and dwelt in the land of Tob;”Jephthah :— to open for oneself.Tob :— to be good, be pleasing, be joyful, be beneficial, be pleasant, be favourable, be happy, be right.Jesus didn’t come to start a perfect family. He came to restore a broken one. | 49m 06s | ||||||
| 3/1/26 | ![]() US | US AND THE WORLD | Sermon Series: “US - Loved People Love People” Sermon #3: “Us AndThe World”1 John 4:19 (NIV) “We love because He first loved us.”John 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”I love Impact church because its the first church ive stepped into & I wasnt judged. No one cared about my tattoos, my piercings. Everyone was so sweet & so welcoming to me. This made a huge impact on me. I was so worried about attending a church again because of my appearance. But no one cared - since that day, this has been the only church I follow! Ashley“A substantial majority of Millennials (1981- 96) who don’t go to church say they see Christians as judgmental (87%), hypocritical (85%), anti-homosexual (91%) and insensitive to others (70%).”“A study of people ages 16–29 in the United States found that nearly 90 percent of respondents articulated the opinion that Christians are Judgemental.” Barna Research When you Judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself. Wayne DyerIf you judge people, you have no time to love them. Mother TerresaJohn 3:16-17 (NLT) “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.”John 1:29 (NLT) “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, ‘Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’”2 Corinthians 6:19 (NLT) “For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.”What is Jesus agenda for sinners? Not to harm but to help. Not to judge but to justify. Not to condemn but to convert. Not to hate on but to heal. The Church is not called to be culture’s critic. The Church is called to be heaven’s government. We are not called to criticize the world. We are called to manifest a verdict that has already been rendered.1. The Verdict Is InThe cross was heaven’s courtroom. The enemy doesn’t await defeat. He is operating under defeat. We are not trying to get victory. We are enforcing the victory.John 12:31-32 “Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” John 16:7-11“I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict (Convince) the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.”2. The Flesh Messes It UpThe flesh sees behavior. The Spirit sees identity. The flesh sees what someone did. The Spirit sees what Christ did.The flesh magnifies sin. The Spirit magnifies the Saviour.John 7:24 “Do not judge according to appearance (What you see), but judge with righteous judgment.” 2 Corinthians 5:16 “From now on we regard no one according to the flesh.”3. We Govern In RighteousnessCritics point fingers. Ambassadors open doors.Condemnation announces failure. The gospel announces victory. If our judgment doesn’t sound like reconciliation, it’s not righteous.1 Corinthians 6:2 “Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?”John 7:24 “… but judge with righteous judgment.” Matthew 5:44-45 “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”When the Church governs like Jesus, chaos and brokenness meet Divine order.Judges 6:11-24 “And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, ‘The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!’ Gideon said to Him, ‘O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles.’” …’Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?’ So he said to Him, ‘O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.’ …. Now Gideon perceived that He was the Angel of the Lord. So Gideon said, “Alas, O Lord God! For I have seen the Angel of the Lord face to face.”John 8:6 “But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger.”“Wrote” (katagraphein):— a compound word, to write against, as in framing an indictment. Just used once in the NT.Jeremiah 17:13 “O Lord, the hope of Israel, All who forsake You shall be ashamed. ‘Those who depart from Me Shall be written in the earth, Because they have forsaken the Lord, The fountain of living waters.”Judgment is Love removing what is not Love. 1 John 4:16-19 “We have come into an intimate experience with God’s love, and we trust in the love he has for us. God is love! Those who are living in love are living in God, and God lives through them. By living in God, love has been brought to its full expression in us so that we may fearlessly face the day of judgment, because all that Jesus now is, so are we in this world. Love never brings fear, for fear is always related to punishment. But love’s perfection drives the fear of punishment far from our hearts. Whoever walks constantly afraid of punishment has not reached love’s perfection. Our love for others is our grateful response to the love God first demonstrated to us.” | 41m 33s | ||||||
| 2/22/26 | ![]() US | US AND CHURCH | Sermon Series: “US - Loved People Love People” Sermon #2: “Us And Church”1 John 4:19 (NIV) “We love because He first loved us.”John 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”The American Bible Society’s 2025 State of the Bible report indicates that 45% of self-identified American Christians have not attended church in the past six months. Only 33% attend at least monthly.Matthew 16:18 “I will build My church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.”Ephesians 1:22-23 “And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”Ephesians 3:10-11 “…to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,”Romans 16:3-5 “Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, who risked their own necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. Likewise greet the church that is in their house”Church (Ekklesia):— an assembly of people called out.Two ways church is used: 1. Universal Church. 2. Local ChurchActs 20:7 “Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.”Hebrews 10:25 (Message) “Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.”Maslow’s Hierarchy Of Needs — Belonging Is A Real Human Need!I Gather For Three Reasons:1. I Belong To God 2. I Belong At Impact Church. 3. I Belong On Purpose1. I Belong To GodJohn 15:16-19 (NIV) “You did not choose me, but I chose you and… If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. …As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”Isaiah 56:2-5 (Message) “Make sure no outsider who now follows God ever has occasion to say, ‘God put me in second-class. I don’t really belong … ‘I’m damaged goods. I don’t really belong …”2. I Belong At ImpactPsalm 92:13-14 “Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing,…”Ephesians 2:19-20 (Message) “That’s plain enough, isn’t it? You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building.”1 Corinthians 12:18, 20 “But now God has set (tithēmi:— to set, fix, establish) the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased … But now indeed there are many members, yet one body.”Wander and you waste.Belong and you build. We waste when we wander, what could have been built through belonging.A consumer attends. A son builds. When you know where you belong — hell loses its leverage.3. I Belong On Purpose1 Peter 4:10 “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”Romans 12:6 “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them:…”Belonging On Purpose Means:1. I’m Known2. I’m Unpacked3. I Contribute4. I’m Responsible5. I Speak The LanguageActs 20:28 “So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood—over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders.”Galatians 6:9-10 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”The House of God where you belong is not to contain you or constrict you but it is to strengthen you, protect you, and to give you value. A place that serves your specific purpose and brings out the best in you. The Kingdom does not ask you to attend. It asks you to awaken. What you seek outwardly is waiting inwardly.Begin where Jesus began — within. From there, all true gathering flows. | 44m 16s | ||||||

Isaiah 55:11 “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Watchman Nee. “A MAN’S WILL is his organ for decision-making. To want or not to want, to choose or not to choose are the typical operations of the will. It is his ‘helm’ by which he sails upon the sea of life. The will of a man can be taken as his real self, for it truthfully represents him.”Your will is the door between your spirit and all other aspects of your life. You must be active attendant of that door. The enemy is after your will. He wants you to walk in agreement with him. He wants you to live independently of God.John 4:34 “Jesus said to them, ‘My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.’”John 8:29 “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.” Psalm 32:8-9 (NLT) “The Lord says, ‘I will guide you (with my eye) along the best pathway for your life. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”Philippians 2:12-13 (NASB) “So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, … work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to desire and to work for His good pleasure.”“Work out” (katergazomai) :— to bring something to completion, to carry out to full expression, to realize or manifest what is already present.God creates the desire, the inclination, the "want to." God enables the “to do.” He supplies the power, energy, and ability to carry out what He has made us desire. This is not self-powered effort. It's grace-enabled obedience. God is the source of both the willing and the doing. We genuinely choose, we genuinely obey, we genuinely "will" and "do"—yet none of it originates from our unaided strength. God Himself is GRACIOUSLY at work in us, producing both the willingness and the power, all for His good pleasure.Your will is linked in the soul realm to your conscious mind and your subconscious mind.Conscious mind — The ThinkerSubconscious mind — Store House and Auto pilotConscious mind plants seeds — Through thoughts, focus, words, and decisions.Subconscious mind grows habits — Through repetition, emotion, and experienceWhat’s repeated + emotionally charged becomes “normal” The subconscious treats it as truthConscious mind = steering wheel. Subconscious mind = engineRenewal of the mind is conscious. Transformation of behaviour flows from the subconscious.Caroline Leaf — “The Gift In You” 143 “…an attitude is a cluster of thoughts with an emotional flavour, and every type of emotion has one of two roots — love or fear. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun.”Matthew 3:17, 4:3 “And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’” “Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God,…”“Our works don’t come from pressure to please God, but from the peace of the promise that He is already pleased.” D. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord”The Incarnation is: The quietest moment. The humblest arrival. The softest step of God onto earth.Yet it is the most explosive, transformative, history-altering event ever to occur.Bethlehem was the beachhead. The manger was the landing zone. And love was the weapon. Heaven invaded earth in silence— and humanity has never been the same.“The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God.” C.S. Lewis (Mere Christianity)“He became what we are that He might make us what He is.” Athanasius (On the Incarnation)“In the Incarnation, God has bound Himself to man in an unbreakable fellowship.” Karl Barth (Church Dogmatics)“God recapitulated in Himself the ancient formation of man, that he might kill sin, deprive death of its power and vivify man.” Irenaeus of Lyons (130–202 AD)Recapitulated:— Christ sums up, repeats, and restores the whole human story in Himself.Salvific Ontology:— the being of Christ that saves.Because He is God and He became human, He unites God and humanity within Himself which heals humanity at the deepest level.1 Corinthians 15:22 “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.”Tommy Miller:“All creation is already being made new because the Creator has become creature without ceasing to be Creator—and He will never un-become what He has become for us. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, ‘If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well (sōzō) .’Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, ‘Who touched My clothes?’But His disciples said to Him, ‘You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ‘And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. S. Lewis (The Grand Miracle) “The central miracle asserted by Christians is the Incarnation. They say that God became Man. Every other miracle prepares for this, or exhibits this, or results from this.In the Christian story God descends to re-ascend. Torrence“The incarnation of the Son in our humanity … reveals God as the creator and redeemer actually with us in our estranged human existence, and … brings out of our fallen and sinful existence a new humanity that is holy and perfect.”Salvific Ontology:— the being of Christ that saves.Because He is God and He became human, He unites God and humanity within Himself which heals humanity at the deepest level. He comes down; down from the heights of absolute being into time and space, down into humanity; down further still…to the womb…down to the very roots of the Nature He has created. He becomes an embryo, a fetus, a child, an adolescent, a young man… a son, a brother, a friend.Born of a woman, Jesus ate food, slept, experienced temptation, He could perspire, bleed, and display human emotions. He went through puberty, experienced loss, betrayal, denial, and abandonment. In one moment, one seemingly insignificant measurement on the span of time, “The Word became flesh”. The undiminished Deity became humanity. The one for whom are all things and by whom are all things, became a thing —like you and me—God with us.The invisible God became the visible, touchable, pierce-able, whip-able, nail-able, Emanuel—God with us.Divinity took on the garb of humanity so that depravity might be rendered savable.True grace appeared and we received grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. The personification of truth was revealed and now we no longer stumble in darkness.God became a man. The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. The incarnation is one direction from God to man, He acts alone and of his own accord, it is God’s gracious act on our behalf.
