| 5/1/25 | ![]() #55 Minerals and Metals in Ayurveda - Iron | Even in these modern times of technology and scientific research, contemporary literature can hardly rival the abundant and detailed ancient texts of Ayurveda in matters that regard the effects of metals on human physiology. | 4/10/25 | ![]() #54 Marine Salt vs Soma Salt | While we worry about pesticides, colorants, preservatives, and other harmful chemicals in our food, antibiotics and vaccines in meats, very few people are aware of the health-deteriorating effects of microplastics in table salt. As a result of decades of trash dumping in our oceans, plastic bottles, bags, and other manufactures shred into very tiny fragments that we end up ingesting with the salt. They are a well-known factor in sterility and many other disorders/illnesses in our physiology. An alternative to marine salt, the Himalayan salt, also referred to as pink salt, has always been considered a better substitute. Even in the ancient times of the rishis, when ocean pollution did not exist, this salt variety was regarded as superior and recommended in the Sanskrit texts. In this brief but revealing episode, Vaidya Mishra explains all about Himalayan salt, from sourcing to purification and laboratory tests involved in the produccion of Soma Salt. | — | ||||||
| 3/28/25 | ![]() #53 Detoxification - PART 2 | The extraordinarily deep understanding of physiological processes revealed by Ayurveda points almost invariably to toxins as the underlying cause of diseases or the imbalances that, if not addressed early, will lead to them. This extraordinary live presentation by Dr. Teitelbaum covers in two parts all that is needed to know about such a crucial subject. Part 1 explains the four types of toxins as well as the vibrational and physical channels. Part 2 addresses the main organs of elimination, the seven tissues with their chain of transformation, and finally, the ayurvedic techniques to detoxify putting special emphasis on how to prepare the body by unclogging the channels to ensure that toxins get truly eliminated instead of leaving a tissue to get stuck on another without being driven out. The most powerful detoxifying foods and the most convenient seasons of the year to engage in detoxification protocols are also revealed. | — | ||||||

| 1/17/25 | ![]() #48 Medicinal Properties of Spices | In the Western world, spices are seen as flavor-enhancing plants that contribute to the refinement of dishes. Under the millennia-old wisdom of Ayurveda, spices are known to be health-boosting and physiology-balancing medicines that contribute to the elimination of toxins, the absorption of nutrients, the flow of prana, and the strengthening of the immune system. They also play a role in our emotional balance, mental strength, and physical performance as well as many other aspects of our overall wellbeing. In this revealing episode, Dr. Teitelbaum keeps no secrets. Discover how to prepare meals with health, not flavor, as the primary goal of your cooking routine. | 11/28/24 | ![]() #45 What is Kaph? | This is the third and last episode of the trilogy: What is Vat?What is Pitt? What is Kaph? Kaph is the best approximation spelling of the dosha which is transliterated as Kapha in the Western world. It is pronounced "Ca-fa" (with consonantal sounds similar to those in the word "coffee".It is the dosha of people with a physiology that is soma-predominant and is divided into the five sub-doshas listed below (spelled Western style): 1) Tarpaka Kapha2) Kledaka Kapha3) Avlambaka Kapa4) Shleshaka Kapha5) Bodhaka Kapha Doshas not only govern the physiological processes in our body, but they are also influential in determining personality and character, and kapha people have the tendency to be friendly, sociable, team players, and more tolerant of social friction resulting from interactions with other persons. | — | ||||||
| 11/14/24 | ![]() #44 What is Pitt? | This is episode number two of the trilogy:What is Vat?What is Pitt? What is Kaph? Pitt is the best approximation spelling of the dosha which is transliterated as Pitta in the Western world and pronounced as "Pit-ta" emphasizing the double "t" sound. It is the dosha of people with a physiology that is agni-predominant and is divided into the five sub-doshas listed below (spelled Western style):1) Pachaka Pitta2) Ranjaka Pitta3) Sadaka Pitta4) Alochaka Pitta 5) Bhranjaka Pitta | — | ||||||
| 10/31/24 | ![]() #43 What is Vat? | This episode is the first of a trilogy:What is Vat?What is Pitt? What is Kaph? Vat is the more proper spelling of the dosha which is transliterated as Vata in the Western world and pronounced as "Wata". Since Sanskrit has no letters, its "alphabet" is rather a syllabary, much like the Japanese katakana and hiragana, where characters represent full syllables instead of consonantal or vocalic sounds that have to be combined to make syllables. When a Sanskrit syllable has no vowel at the end, a minuscule "A" sound is attached to it, and since Western alphabets don't know of these short or "half vowels" the transliterations frequently add a full "A" sound at the end. Furthermore, familiar words such as Yoga and Ayurveda are actually "Yog" and "Ayurved" in their original Sanskrit form, they just get a full "A" sound appended at the end. Vat or Vata is one of the three ayurvedic doshas and is the dosha of people with a physiology that is marut-predominant. It is divided into the five sub-doshas listed below (spelled Western style) on which Vaidya Mishra elaborates in this episode covering the functions and the parts of the physical body that each of them governs: 1) Prana Vata2) Udana Vata3) Samana Vata4) Apana Vata5) Vyana Vata | — | ||||||
