Dire Straits has sold up to 120 million records, received Grammys, brit awards and MTV Awards and also helped fashion the MTV generation. John Illsley, Bass Guitarist for Dire Straits was one of the four brothers and friends, I guess you could call them brothers in arms that decided to form a little band In 1977. They hit the UK rock scene with an album that would go on to launch the career of one of the most influential and important bands in the history of music. Originally known as Cafe Racers, the band thankfully adopted the name Dire Straits and a tour with Talking Heads and a top 10 single Sultans of Swing started their journey. Now a successful solo artist, multiple Brit and Grammy awards, John Illsley is now part of a new single called Think Loud a song to bring awareness to Parkinson’s Disease.
