| 8/28/26 | The Paranoid Squirrel ep 1086 | Acweorna! This week we discover that sometimes I’ve heard a song before without actually realising it, which sends us from 20/20 to Professor and The Madman and onwards to Sweden’s Skallbank, one of the bands I’ll hopefully be seeing at next year’s Savage Magic Showcase in Cologne. There’s “100 Years of Punk Rock” courtesy of Cock Sparrer and Die Toten Hosen, with the latter opening the doors to Covers Corner. Punk veterans Andy Blade and Derwood join forces, before Cats become Rats and then Sugar Rats, as Willie Dowling’s latest somehow provides another excuse for some Squirrel musical interconnectedness. Elsewhere there’s brand-new music from The Speedways, Glitter Kick and 2Sevens, Richie Ramone gets dusted off for another spin, Vince Lightning and the Thunderboltz provide some local Rock ’n’ Roll, Kurt Baker goes rummaging through both his own and Slade’s past, and Hard-Ons team up with Poison Idea’s Jerry A. And when the Radio Edition finishes, don’t go anywhere... “The Last Nut” this week is something genuinely special: a rehearsal recording, aired with permission, that you’re extremely unlikely to hear anywhere else. Another hour of Punk, Junk & Glunk — new stuff, classic stuff, forgotten gems and a few musical detours along the way. 01 The Lifetakers – Giftshop – The Lifetakers ep – Self Released02 20/20 – Nuclear Boy - 03 Skallbank – Vakna Upp – Digital Release04 Cock Sparrer – Frontline Heroes – True To The Bone – JKP Records05 Die Toten Hosen – I’m So Bored With The USA – True To The Bone – JKP Records06 Kurt Baker – When Fantasy Calls – Wonder Woman – Wick Cool Records07 Andy Blade & Derwood – Cat In The Bag – Cat In The Bag/Junk Shop Saddle – Cherry Red Records08 Willie Dowling – Rats In The Maze – 369 Music09 Sugar Rats – King Kong – I Fucked Up – Sugar Ratcords10 The Speedways – All Bets Are Off – All Bets Are Off 7” – Stardumb/Beluga Records11 Glitter Kicks – Single – Make The Rainbow Sing – TBC12 Richie Ramone – I Fix This – Cellophane – DC-Jam Records13 Vince Lightning and the Thunderboltz – Jealousy – Veni, Vendi, Vincey – Bandcamp14 2Sevens – Shut Down The World – Shut Down The World – Self Released15 Hard-Ons/Jerry A – Radio Blah – Hard Ons/Jerry A – American Leather Records16 The Last Nut – Stream or Download to find out | 1h 09m 08s | ||||||
| 8/21/26 | The Paranoid Squirrel ep 1085 | Acweorna! 🐿️ This week’s hour of Punk, Junk & Glunk takes in brand new releases, forthcoming albums, punk rock history, forgotten gems, gig and tour news, a bit of Beckenham interconnectedness and the usual musical rabbit holes that somehow lead from one record to another. There’s music stretching from the 1970s right through to tracks that aren't even officially out yet, with plenty of power pop, punk, garage and big guitars along the way. BUT... the Catch-Up Crew get something the live Rock Radio UK listeners didn’t. When the outro finishes, DON’T SWITCH OFF! Stick around for “The Last Nut” 🌰 because this week, I’ve squirrelled away a bona fide WORLD EXCLUSIVE — a track you won’t hear anywhere else at the moment, played with the artist’s blessing. New stuff. Classic stuff. Forgotten gems. And The Last Nut! Where Melody Meets Mayhem!01 The Alarm – Presence Of Love – Eye Of The Hurricane – I.R.S. | 8/14/26 | The Paranoid Squirrel ep 1084 | Acweorna! Episode 1084 of The Paranoid Squirrel is packed with another hour of Punk, Junk & Glunk, mixing brand-new releases with classics, covers, lost demos and a fair amount of musical interconnectedness. This week Compare & Contrast gets a workout as we investigate a few songs that sound strangely familiar, while Covers Corner takes us from Captain Sensible to Julian Cope via some wonderfully unlikely connections. There’s also new music, forthcoming album and gig news, a demo rescued from 1987, plenty of Beatles-related coincidences and the usual stories and diversions along the way. And when you think it’s all over, don’t switch off just yet. After the outro there’s one final musical treat waiting for you... The Last Nut. | 8/7/26 | The Paranoid Squirrel ep 1083 | Acweorna! After last week's Power Pop & Punk Special, normal service is well and truly resumed as The Paranoid Squirrel returns with another hour of Punk, Junk & Glunk. This week's show is packed with brand-new releases, punk classics, exclusive tracks, gig news, live reviews and, of course, the welcome return of Covers Corner, where familiar songs are turned upside down and given a whole new lease of life. Along the way there's a look at the UK Subs' farewell tour, a review of a recent visit to London's legendary Hope & Anchor, the latest news from the punk underground, and stories linking together musicians and bands in the wonderfully interconnected world of rock 'n' roll. As always, a huge thank you goes to the artists, record labels and friends of the show who continue to send me new music. Your support allows me to shine a light on both established names and the next generation of bands keeping the spirit of punk, power pop and rock alive. So whether you're a lifelong punk, a power pop obsessive, or simply someone who enjoys discovering great music, pull up a chair, turn the volume up and join me for another journey through the ever-expanding world of Punk, Junk & Glunk...01 Cheap Trick – I Surrender – Heaven Tonight – Epic02 Marc Valentine – Temporary Buzz – Uncommon Side Effects – Wicked Cool Records03 The Boys – Never Mind The Botox – Damn Those Eyes/Never Mind The Botox 7” – Damaged Goods Records 04 The Sideshows – Nothing To Say – The Sideshows – European Phonogram05 UK Subs – CID (Single Version) – Another Kind Of Blues – GEM06 Vanity Rose – Lost On Your Highway – Vanity Rose – Self Released 07 The Wipes – My Head – One Shot – Self Released08 Mauro & The Mob – What Have I Got To Lose – What Have I Got To Lose 7” – Snap Records09 Menace – I Could Be You – A Punk Tribute to the UK Subs – Violated Records10 Rob Moss & Skin-Tight Skin – Bettie Rides A Donkey – Rob Moss & Skin-Tight Skin/The James Clark Institute split single – Bandcamp11 The James Clark Institute – A Donkey – Rob Moss & Skin-Tight Skin/The James Clark Institute split single – Bandcamp12 The Chuck Norris Experiment – Don’t Bring Me Down – PUNK CHARTBUSTERS Vol.7– Wolverine Records13 MC16 – Rubble Walker – We’re Gonna Need A Milkman – Neverlution Records14 2Sevens – Black Leather – SDTW - Bandcamp | 1h 00m 00s | ||||||
