Turn – 6d:The 6 of diamonds on the turn brings in a possible straight. Carrel doesn’t slow down, putting out a second barrel of 350,000. Ho calls again, needing only a four on the river to win the pot. River – Qs:A board-pairing queen of spades on the river is a disaster for Ho, as she improves to trips with a worse kicker. Little does he know that the 6 of hearts is the worst card in the deck for him as he is now drawing dead! He bets $5,000, only to be met by a raise to $16,500 from Airball, who has picked up a backdoor heart flush draw and an open-ended straight draw. Tesla has hit his dream card, improving to the nuts. He puts in the rare cold 3-bet to $31,625, which both Stache and Airball call. River – 3d:The 3 of diamonds river is a brutal card for Airball, as it improves his hand to a seven-high straight. Stache and Airball both check it over to Tesla, who fires out an overbet of $125,000. Stache makes the call with his straight, and now the action is on Airball, who holds the same straight. Have you ever folded pocket kings preflop? Not many people have, especially when they only have 19 big blinds in a poker tournament! Watch to see if Juan Pardo can make the correct fold in a $125,000 Triton Poker Main Event in London. He gets a bit of extra information in this poker hand that he shouldn’t have had. That might make this decision a little easier. What do you think? Only 6 players remain in the $125,000 Triton Main Event and the ICM pressure is huge as the pay jumps for each place are extremely significant. Juan Pardo will be fully aware of this which could factor into his decision as he sits there with the 2nd best hand in all of poker. Jonathan agrees with Chidwick’s decision to cold 4-bet from the small blind vs the 3-bet from Thorel. AK suited is a poker hand that should be more than happy getting all of the money in for less than 40 big blinds preflop. One of the first things you learn as a poker player is that when it goes raise, re-raise and then re-raise from 3 different players – you should fold almost everything! This includes Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates’ pocket jacks that he correctly pitches into the muck very quickly when facing the 4-bet from Chidwick. Jonathan is shocked that Juan Pardo managed to find the correct fold with pocket kings in this spot. You just have to know so specifically that one of your opponents has aces to find this fold. Jonathan says that Chidwick is often going to use Ax as 4-bet bluffs and even his 4-bets for value which then will block the combinations of specifically pocket aces that Thorel could have. Watch as famous poker vlogger Ethan ‘Rampage Poker’ Yau finds his best way to punt his chips off during a Hustler Casino Live stream! This is a unique format in which they are playing a $25/$50 Ante Game, which means every player has to post $25 before the hand (apart from the button who posts $50). The players only have to call the $25 extra to enter the pot and make up the big blind. The action starts left of the button which is considered UTG. Jonathan discusses how ranges should be wider in this type of format due to how much dead money is already in the pot preflop. You should be looking to play hands that can make the nuts, or close to! Having said that he is not a huge fan of the limp/re-raise from Rampage. He has a hand that should much prefer just calling the $600 raise. Jonathan likes the min click 4-bet raise from Luda Chris with his ATo. It’s not a great hand to just call with and against such an aggressive opponent such as Rampage Poker you need to find a wider range of hands to bluff 4-bet with. In the second poker hand Jonathan thinks Rampage is far too wide in raising Q7h, you need to pick hands that have better playability postflop. On the JJ4ccx flop, Francisco decides to lead with his 66 which Jonathan thinks is a mistake. You generally will only be called against opponents that either have you crushed or extremely good equity against your small pair. There is also a chance that you may get raised which turns your hand into a bluff catcher in a potentially big pot by the river. Rampage uses an interesting small raise size on the flop which signals to his opponent’s that his hand is so strong that they are drawing extremely thin to beat him. The problem is in games that everyone is extremely loose then you are still going to get called very frequently. On the river Jonathan thinks the only way that Rampage could get Francisco to fold a full house would be to put maximum pressure on him by putting him all-in or very close to. As Rampage is extremely deep with the button he could have raised even larger to help reduce the stack to pot ratio (SPR) which would make it easier for Rampage to find a way to get all of the money in by the river (or even earlier!) When Rampage decides to use a small bet size on the turn after the flop has checked through he is essentially saying that he now has the range advantage and can start betting for thin value but also with some bluffs. With Song just calling on the turn his range is looking more like a hand that is pocket kings or ace king. He will also have some slow played traps like pocket queens or pocket jacks but these will make up a smaller part of his range due to there being fewer combinations of these hands compared to kings or ace king. Jonathan covers an interesting topic on how you should always look to use the largest ‘small size’ when betting for value that your opponent will still call. He thinks that Song would have called $2,000 on the turn rather than just $1,500 so this could have been a spot that Rampage could have earnt himself an extra $500!
