Before "Straw Dogs," "Last House on the Left" and "I Spit on Your Grave" it was Whirlpool that ushered in the new decade of the 1970s... George and Travis had never heard of Whirlpool (aside from all the times Dan brought it up over the last 3 years!) and were NOT PREPARED FOR WHAT THEY WERE GETTING INTO. And it led to what may be our most ridiculous episode of the year! Seriously. George and Travis are new to this movie, and Dan forewarned them (perhaps to their own detriment) that they were in for more David Cronenberg. But this isn't your Daddy's Cronenberg of The Fly or Scanners. Instead the guys were faced with a serious and ambiguous tale vacillating between gaslighting and a potential double life. But, spoiler alert: They liked it. Will Travis ever be satisfied with ambiguity? Will George manage to say anything nice about the movie before slipping into criticism? Will Dan find an excuse to reference Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?
