He received his undergraduate degree in psychology and religious studies with a masters in Mental Health Counseling. He dedicated his studies to learning about brain-based interventions for mental health while researching the impact meditation and mindfulness practices have on the nervous system. They were newly married and she started her career in the commercial design industry. She had no idea at that time that she would embark on a major career change and find herself called to be a chiropractor. Dr. Lea graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA in 2001. Dr. Joe graduated two years prior and started their practice in his hometown of Traverse City, MI. They were blessed with four children in the six years after she graduated. Full time family practice was put on pause while she focused on their growing family.
