| 10/2/26 | 347: Grab Some Pine, Meat! | The 2026 season for the San Francisco Giants has mercifully come to an end, but it did so with a wet thump. After losing 8 of their last 9 games, including two sweeps at the hands of the hated Dodgers, the Giants finished with their third worst record in SF history at 65-97. We also said goodbye to Mike Krukow, the beloved broadcaster and 20-game winner. Although I grew up with broadcasters before him, he was there for the longest duration of my Giants fandom. His euphemisms, stories, and insight will truly be missed. Eric and Chad break down this disappointing season, what went wrong, what management recognizes as the priorities to fix, and to be frank, how we are in one of the worst doldrums and periods of Giants' history. But, we are still here. We are still fans. We are still doing this for the listeners and it's cathartic and good therapy. We give our playoff predictions and briefly discuss if think there will even be a 2027 season with an impending lockout. But, that's for another episode. Thanks for listening all year, you guys are the [email protected]/torturecast | 1h 44m 06s | ||||||
| 9/7/26 | 345: Devers and the Kids | Well, Rafael Devers has finally been consistently putting up the power numbers Giants fans were hoping for. He's up to 35 bombs and right at his career OPS, and that's after a very poor April. In fact, he's in the top three in homers, RBI, walks, and OPS since May 1. Unfortunately, most of the other regulars are on the IL and not with him. Instead, he's leading a rag tag team of quad A and triple A players out to the field every night. To be honest, the Giants' offense hasn't been too bad, mostly because of the Devers-Eldrige duo (which could be a promising duo), but the pitching and specifically the bullpen has been historically bad. The Giants even blew a 6-run ninth inning lead to the Reds, their biggest ninth inning collapse in their 145 year franchise history. It really was an exclamation point and message sent to Buster and Giants' ownership: fix this next year. At least the good news is it's unlikely the Giants will lose 100 games. They need only four wins in their remaining 18 games to avoid that horror. The three amigos are back to talk about Giants baseball, including Jeff Kent's HOF and number retirement, Doug Eddings hat tilt fiasco, and the horrible Kalshi sponsorship deal with the Giants. As Eric put it, the Giants have just been tone deaf in [email protected]/torturecast | 1h 22m 52s | ||||||
| 8/5/26 | 344: Trade Deadline Haul | The Giants pulled in a haul of prospects just before the trade deadline, but parted ways with six, yes SIX players on their major league roster. Buster Posey and management gave a clear sign that they were willing to do a near full rebuild. I mean, they still have talent on their roster, but they have waved the white flag for this season, and probably next season. We break down all five trades and pretty much don't talk about baseball ON the field this episode. We dabble in a little Schmitt injury and close it out with the sad-but-true Bader drunken scooter meets firetruck accident. There's nothing like it!www.torturecast.comfacebook.com/torturecast@torturecast | 1h 12m 52s | ||||||
| 7/16/26 | 343: At the Break - ing Point | The Giants entered the All Star Break with their 6th-worst record in San Francisco history at 41-55 and the third worst team in the National League. Where do they go from here? Clearly not the playoffs. Who will they trade, who would you miss in a trade? Chad and Eric catch up to break down the Giants biggest flaws of the season, try to predict the trade chips, discuss the HR derby and All-Star game, our MVPs and LVPs, and quickly review the Giants draft picks.www.torturecast.comfacebook.com/torturecast@torturecast | 1h 19m 37s | ||||||
| 6/26/26 | 342: Elephant in the Room | Normally, we don't get political, although we believe the Pride Night fiasco is actually not political, but about human dignity, decency and acceptance. Although we spend the first 20 minutes talking about Giants' baseball on the field, we do reserve the last half+ to talk about the way the Giants handled Pride Night. We understand if you don't want to listen to it, for whatever reason, so feel free to stop the podcast at the point. Otherwise, we hope you enjoy the discussion, and, thanks for [email protected]/torturecast | 1h 12m 56s | ||||||
| 6/8/26 | 341: Windy City Recap | The Giants took two of three from the Cubs over the weekend, but it should have been a sweep. After clobbering seven homeruns in an 18-3 drubbing of the Cubs in game one, they traded extra-inning wins in the 10th. The second game was painful, as PCA hit the game-tying homer with two outs in the ninth. The Giants offense has exploded over the last 30 days, a stretch where they are the best in the majors for batting average, runs per game, doubles, OPS, and slugging, and second in homeruns. Almost comically, their walk rate still ranked at the bottom of the league. So, why did they have a losing month with such prodigious numbers? Well, many runs and hits were concentrated across just three games, and their pitching took a dive, being at or near the bottom in every statistical category. We'll be back in two [email protected]/torturecast | 58m 49s | ||||||
| 6/4/26 | 340: At Least the 1902 Giants Were Worse | The Giants have the third worst 63-game start in franchise history (1902 and 1943) and the worst in San Francisco history at 25-38, tied with the 1985 100-loss and 2017 98-loss teams. Despite the doom and gloom, the offense has come around as of late. Luis Arraez and Jung Hoo Lee have the third (.325) and fourth (.322) best batting averages in baseball, and as a team, are fourth in batting average (.256). They lead the league in doubles and grand slams, and Bryce Eldridge is flirting with .300. Casey Schmidt is looking like an All-Star, smacking his 13th homer (a new career high...in June) today. And, Logan Webb carried a no-hitter into the 7th in a 1-0 victory over the Brewers. That said, how will the Giants sell at the deadline? What can Buster Posey do at this point to improve the DNA of this team, especially as much of the team is now under his mold?www.torturecast.comfacebook.com/torturecast@torturecast | 36m 57s | ||||||
| 5/28/26 | 339: Arizona Razing | It's definitely not Razing Arizona, it's the other way around. The Giants have lost all 6 games against the Diamondbacks this year and 9 in a row, extending from last year. Their record stands at 22-34, the third worst record after 56 games in the 140 years of this franchise, and we are more than one-third into the season. The other Giants teams that were at or below the current record did not finish well. We are absolutely looking at a team that could lose 100 games for only the second time in franchise history. Who's to blame? Do the fans care? Should they break it down and rebuild? These are questions we didn't think we would ask. But, here we are. The TortureCast three break down their opinions of this club and what they should do going forward. www.torturecast.comfacebook.com/torturecast@torturecast | 51m 59s | ||||||
| 5/20/26 | Series Recap 006 - PIT, LAD, OAK | Willie Dills graces the mic to recap the last several series of Giants baseball. This team has been testing our patience, and when they perform well (like, vs LA and Oakland), we think maybe they're coming out of it, but then they fall back into their regular pattern of no offense and soul-crushing endings like last night's 2-out walk off vs Arizona. Willie covers a bit of the trade of Patrick Bailey to the Guardians, Rafael Devers struggles, Adames underperformance, and the fact that Casey Schmitt is the Giants best player. Maybe baseball in the 1880s is more entertaining than Giants baseball right now. They are 6-6 in their last 12, but that's not going to pull them out of their hole in the National League, sitting at 20-29 with the 4th-worst record in MLB. Listen and commiserate with Willie.www.torturecast.comfacebook.com/torturecast@torturecast | 10m 00s | ||||||
| 5/7/26 | 338: Could they beeee any worse? | The title is vocalized by Chandler's character from "Friends," FYI. Anyway, could they be any worse? Well, the only time they were after 37 games was in 2017...by one game. So, this is their second-worst 37 games start in franchise history. Eric and Chad dive into the desert that is the Giants offense and try to understand what could be causing it. Pitching has been statistically average, but they have had three dramatic late-inning failures in the last week, fueling eight losses in nine games. One one direction they can go: up! Who are we kidding, down is still [email protected]/torturecast | 56m 50s | ||||||

| 4/27/26 | Series Recap 005 vs Marlins | Eric recaps the winning series at home against the Marlins. Schmitt and Lee were top performers, and the Giants are starting to show some life. That's three series victories in a row for the Giants as they move onto Philly to try and get to [email protected]/torturecast | 18m 56s | ||||||
| 4/24/26 | 337: LA Beaten | The Giants finally had a good week of baseball, winning four of six, including two of three from their arch rival Dodgers. The boys talk about the rivalry, the drama with Daulton Rush, their lack of hitting, but also how their pitching is starting to lock in. They actually looked like a major league club this week. We also figured out that we need to do separate shows about obscure baseball rules and great baseball films. [email protected]/torturecast | 1h 13m 36s | ||||||
| 4/19/26 | Series Recap 004 at Nationals | Chad recaps the Washington series. The Giants took 2 of 3 from Washington, hitting .305 in the series and scoring 17 runs despite being shut out in a loss in game 3. Best performances go to Ramos (.385, 2 HR, 6 RBI), Chapman (.400), Gilbert (.417) and the bullpen that allowed only 2 ER in 11.1 IP. They are still floundering a bit at four games under .500, but have been showing signs of offensive life [email protected]/torturecast | 13m 09s | ||||||
| 4/16/26 | 336: Meaty Loss Sandwich | Eric and Chad digest the meat loss sandwich the Giants made this week (that's four meaty losses in a row, bookended by two thin slices of wins). Giants fans are pining for some signs of life, but the team is falling further back in the standings and digging their hole a little deeper every week of this young season. They are last or near the bottom of the league in most hitting categories, and their pitching is sub-average. That said, it was nice to see Landen Roupp and company toss a 1-hit shutout today in Cincinnati. There is some life emanating from Jung Hoo Lee, but the outfield and Bailey remain mostly abysmal. They have time to turn this around, but it can't wait much [email protected]/torturecast | 54m 23s | ||||||
| 4/13/26 | Series Recap 003 vs Orioles | Willie Dills recaps the Baltimore series. The Giants dropped 2 of 3 to Baltimore, but have some....some hints of hitting. But, will that continue with their road trip to Cincinnati? www.torturecast.com@torturecast | 10m 18s | ||||||
| 4/9/26 | 335: Susacrebleu! | What a way for the kid catcher (Daniel Susac) to break open his MLB career! Five straight hits and now 6-7. He has more hits than Bailey already! The boys get together to discuss this week in Giants baseball, where we saw the orange and black go 3-4, but ended the week with two consecutive shutouts over the Phillies before they head out on a nine-game road [email protected]/torturecast | 1h 01m 35s | ||||||
| 4/6/26 | Series Recap 002 vs Mets | Eric Nathanson (@2outhits) recaps the four-game series against the Mets at home. Apparently, the Giants don't want us recapping GOOD baseball. It was a tough weekend for the Giants, dropping three of four to the New York B team, and just getting walloped in the last three games of the [email protected]/torturecast | 27m 59s | ||||||
| 4/2/26 | 334: Catch the F*#$ing Ball! | The Giants had a poor opening week to the 2026 season, with few positives to talk about, I mean, two players have actually out-homered the Giants so far. We talk about a little drama on the field between infielders, lack of hitting, how the rookie manager is handling things so far, and a nice tangent into the ABS system and C.B. Bucknor for [email protected]/torturecast | 1h 12m 25s | ||||||
| 3/29/26 | Series Recap 001 vs Yankees | We are trying something new: series recaps! Ok, not the best series to start with, considering the fact that the Giants were swept at home by the Yankees, but, here we are. It is a historically bad start. But, Chad's here to talk about it. We also are debuting a draft of a new podcast theme song, produced by Willie Dills. www.torturecast.comfacebook.com/torturecast@torturecast | 15m 05s | ||||||
| 3/25/26 | 333: San Francisco Giants 2026 Season Preview | Aside from our episodes after the 2012 and 2014 World Series victories, our annual season preview is the episode that we most look forward to every year. Can't you just smell the grass? The trio discusses the opening day roster and dives into our season predictions for wins, if they make the playoffs, statistical team leads and more. Most of the time, we're way off, but we try. And there are tangents...so many tangents. Might want to play this one on [email protected]/torturecast | 1h 56m 48s | ||||||
| 3/19/26 | 332: WBC Needs ABS | The trio assembled to talk about Spring Training, potential roster decisions as they are about to break camp, the WBC, and the Wall of Fame is getting several new additions in August!www.torturecast.com@torturecast | 1h 11m 49s | ||||||
| 2/27/26 | 331: Spring in our Step | We're back, baby! Eric and Chad kick off TortureCast's 16th season of covering San Francisco Giants baseball with a lively discussion about the team's major acquisitions during the offseason (Harrison Bader, Luis Arraez, Adrian Houser, and Tyler Mahle), notable departures (sad about Wilmer Flores), the early spring results, the projected lineup and rotation, and some interesting numbers about ABS and how it can really make some umpires look bad acutely, but not so bad overall. The sun is shining (at least in Arizona), you can smell the fresh-cut grass, and we can't wait for another season of Giants baseball!www.torturecast.comfacebook.com/torturecast@torturecast (Twitter) | 1h 01m 46s | ||||||
| 11/6/25 | 330: They Who Shall Not Be Named | The MLB season is officially over, and it ended in agonizing fashion with the Dodgers squeaking out their second consecutive championship over a Toronto Blue Jays team that just couldn't put the nail in the coffin. We beat the dead horse that should have been a ring for Toronto, but before that, we break down Tony Vitello's presser at Oracle, Gold Glove wins for Bailey and Webb, and some new coaching hires. We'll be back periodically throughout the offseason as news breaks, but thank you for your continued support as we close out season 15 of the [email protected]/torturecast | 1h 03m 40s | ||||||
| 10/23/25 | 329: Tony Vitello Volunteers | Today, the Giants announced that University of Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello will be their new manager. Vitello becomes the first college coach to move directly to MLB manager without previous professional coaching experience. He turned a Volunteers team around, accruing a .722 winning percentage, and winning the 2024 College World Series and was named Coach of the Year. This could be exactly what the Giants need, or it could flame out in horrible disaster, but they had to try something, and this is Buster Posey's first crack at "his guy" to helm the ship. The whole gang is back together (Willie, Eric, and Chad) to talk about Vitello and to preview the World Series, which unfortunately has that team in blue in [email protected]/torturecast | 1h 03m 13s | ||||||
| 9/30/25 | 328: 2025 Post Mortem | Chad and Eric conduct a partial autopsy on the corpse of the 2025 San Francisco Giants, but before that, there's a long conversation about who the Giants are going to replace Bob Melvin with. That's right, after signing Melvin to an extension on July 1, the Giants parted ways with Melvin and now will search for their next skipper. No, it won't be Bruce Bochy, who just ended his tenure as manager with the Rangers. So much went wrong for the Giants this year, but in the end, they missed the playoffs by just 3 games (they were 2 games back, but Mets held the tiebreaker over Giants). Heck, Ryan Walker blew three saves (all losses) in the last two weeks of the season alone! There are many other games to point to. The Giants are close, tantalizingly close, but they need more. Buster Posey said in this morning's interview that they can't keep doing the same thing and expecting different results, thus the Melvin dismissal. Hey, and we talk about the playoffs and give our predictions. Anyone but the Dodgers, [email protected]/torturecastinstagram.com/torturecast | 1h 33m 31s | ||||||
