In the middle of the heated campaigning, I went to Hyderabad to spend a day with four-time sitting MP Asaduddin Owaisi for this episode. Before we sat down for a chat, Mr Owaisi offered me a ride on his fancy Triumph bike to witness his door-to-door campaigning in his constituency. We discussed how tough this election is for him, the new BJP candidate contesting against him and how hopeful he is in this election. Apart from trying and failing to find out what Mr Owaisi does to ‘chill’ in a Halal way, we also discussed the relationship between the state and religion, BJP’s politics, and Mr Owaisi’s hypocrisies. Mr Owaisi also opened up about three assassination attempts on him, his workout routine and why he thinks therapy is not for politicians.
