| 9/28/25 | ![]() Bonus: Q&A with Quinn Majeski & Absurdia | Show Notes To tide us over til our next one-shot, here's a bonus episode where our host and GM Fiona chats to Quinn Majeski, show runner of the Monster Hour podcast and the game designer behind Absurdia: A tabletop roleplaying game about absurd humor and surreal horror. Absurdia is an modern fantasy roleplaying game about the inane hilarity and understated horror of everyday life. Inspired by works like Welcome to Night Vale, Alice in Wonderland, Gravity Falls, and the Twilight Zone, Absurdia is an opportunity to indulge in the surreal and outlandish while subverting the absurdity of modern society. In Absurdia, players take on the roles of peculiar residents of an unassuming suburban town turned upside down by entropic chaos. They’ll contend with occult bureaucracy, a megalomaniacal PTA, sentient cars, malevolent garden flora, a non-Euclidean network of back alleys, and the occasional extradimensional cosmic horror in a darkly idyllic community. | 8/17/25 | ![]() Episode #153: KULT: Divinity Lost - The Driver | Content Warnings: KULT: Divinity Lost is a contemporary horror roleplay game with mature adult themes and dark subject matter. Specific content warnings for this scenario, The Driver, include: Guns, Gunshot injury, Gun Violence, Robbery gone wrong, Blood, bodily harm and death, kidnapping and abduction, self harm to get out of restraints and fire. Show Notes This week, Fiona is joined by Rhys for 'KULT: Divinity Lost', a highly acclaimed and infamous contemporary horror role-playing game. Originally released in 1991, this 4th edition of KULT came out in 2018 and features a rule-set based on a variant of the Powered By The Apocalypse system. In KULT: Divinity Lost, the protagonists are people who become involved in or are pulled into events tied to their pasts. Past sins catch up with them, demanding atonement. Childhood fears bubble up to the surface, manifesting in physical form. These terrors take their shape based on what lurks inside of us. The protagonists are forced to journey into the abyss, perhaps even across the threshold of death itself, only to discover there is no final destination – Death is only the beginning. The Driver by Robin Liljenberg is a one on one improv heavy KULT: Divinity Lost scenario. A desperate fugitive is speeding through the desert in a failing car, fleeing some unknown threat and bringing an injured person or hostage.
