What exactly do I mean by the discipline of "stillness"? At its core, stillness is a state of being calm and quiet, both externally and internally. It’s that moment when you pause, breathe, and allow yourself to simply be. Stillness isn’t just about physical quiet but also mental clarity. Finding stillness can feel like a challenge in a world filled with distractions—social media notifications, endless to-do lists, and the constant buzz of life. | 1/3/25 | ![]() How to Process Death | Many have tried to escape the clutches of death. Some have created strategies in hopes of acquiring greater lengths of time. However, as I have been processing death over the past few weeks, due to the health issue of a friend, I am reminded of the following: Death has respect for no one. Death does not know solitude, stillness, or vacation. Death does not agree with our timeframe or timeline. Regardless of how spiritual or religious you may be, each one of us in our ways ascribes to specific thoughts or beliefs about death and the existence of life beyond here. Ultimately, we must ask ourselves: What can be learned from processing death? This was the question I faced off with over the past few weeks, as a friend of mine endured health issues with an unknown guarantee of living. The following are my thoughts on processing death. It is my hope these can be a resource for your processing when the time comes to process through death. | —

If we think about this many thoughts per minute and in a day, what are we filling our minds with? If you are listening to this podcast and are like most people, several of those 60,000 thoughts within your day are filled with good thoughts, bad thoughts, dangerous thoughts, lies, lust, hypothetical thoughts, fantasies, dreams, and reality. What I’m most interested in is what we are doing with these thoughts once they are in our minds. I want to pose a challenging step for you to process. In our inner being, we are not our thoughts. We'll explore what solitude is, why it's crucial for leadership development, and how you can incorporate it into your life. So, let's get started! Solitude is the state of being alone without feeling lonely. It's a deliberate practice of spending time by yourself, free from the distractions and influences of others. This isn't about isolation or loneliness; it's about creating space for self-reflection, deep thinking, and personal growth. In our hyperconnected world, true solitude has become increasingly rare. | 9/27/24 | ![]() Understanding Agni and Ama in Ayurveda | What in the world is agni and ama? As we continue our discussion on Ayurveda, we must have a basic understanding of Agni and ama. Think of it this way. The quality of our bodily tissues depends on the quality of our, which is conducted by the transformational fire element within us called Agni. From another perspective, if we have food that is not properly digested, it will remain in the stomach and intestines to eventually rot away (Very gross, I know). As the food begins the process of rotting, a toxin is formed called ama. The ama begins its process of incorporating itself into the deep tissues of our bodies such as fat, bones, and nerve cells. Ultimately when our agni is strong, the food we consume is properly digested and the opposite of this is when agni becomes weak, ama poisons our bodies and creates havoc within our digestion. We do not want the second half of this. | —
| 9/20/24 | ![]() Emotional Violence | Welcome to Unlock Your Leadership, your go-to source for inner leadership development. Today, in episode #25, we're delving into a sensitive but crucial topic: emotional violence. | 9/6/24 | ![]() Unleashing Your Inner Leadership | For well over 20 years now, I have been professionally studying the massive leadership landscape. Like the Grand Canyon, the topic of leadership continues to expand to deeper levels as every year passes. The concept of leadership still carries the attractiveness to young and aspiring men and women and regardless of its highs and lows, something about it still sounds sexy to us. Aside from the concepts of titles, positions, and authority, leadership is rich in developing our inner being when we fully submit to it. One of the hardest tests anyone looking to, desiring, or called to lead will face, is inner development. I found it exhilarating, vast, and enjoyable when I started studying leadership. The thrill of learning how to lead others, build teams, develop speeches, tell stories and guide organizations came with a fresh twist and turn. | — | ||||||
