Dear Mr. Club Kid, you're the one in the corner of the coffee shop listening to my podcast with no headphones on because you don’t give a f**k, who orders a black coffee and drinks it all day while writing in a red notebook with a pen that hardly works... Umm sorry, we got carried away. This week we dive into acclaimed actress Mary Louise Parker’s semi-autobiographical book of letters, "Dear Mr. You." We discuss the longing for strangers, retro Coke, getting railed in the East Village, the erotic loss of the father, wearing opera gloves to breakfast, and analyze why she isn’t a hag. Somebody call 9-1-1 because it’s getting hot in here! We finally listened to all you horny club kids, and read Hot Mugshot guy's memoir "Model Citizen: The Autobiography of Jeremy Meeks." This book may be triple spaced but it’s actually an important text that looks into the prison industrial complex, fame, class, B-movies, marrying into money, Morocco, and what it’s like to be raised a lesbian Naval officer. Heyeth, best friends in Christ! The Lord hath sent us His Most Fabulous Messenger—Catherine Cohen of the village of Houston—to discuss His “Second Testament,” aka The New Testament, aka Season 2 of the Holy Bible. From weeping for thine Jewish friends who will burn in the fires of Hell to why Jesus resembleth a member of Fleet Foxes, the divine sex workers of Nazareth, Jesus having only child syndrome, TEDxBethlehem, and addressing if the Virgin Mary was a liar (yes). This is the Book of All Books, The Lastest of all Suppers. Come break unleavened bread and Slay In The Name of All That Is Holy. Amen.Support the show: https://www.patreon.com/cbcthepodSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

I was rooting for you!! We were ALL rooting for you!!! This week we read Jay Manuel's "novel"/self-insertion fan fiction about what it was like to work on America’s Next Top Model in "The Wig, the Bitch and the Meltdown." We dive into this burn book and discuss the 2000’s hot spots Tao and Buddakan (and why Jay chose to put them in a novel that takes place in 2020), doing Tyra dirty, Miss J's d*ck pics, why Janice Dickinson is our favorite, and that scene where Jay gets to pretend that Nigel Barker wanted him carnally. Move over Rachel Cusk, there’s a new queen of auto-fiction in town!Support the show: https://www.patreon.com/cbcthepodSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What if Einstein was a chick??? This week we read wildly popular millennial comedian Iliza Shlesinger’s book "Girl Logic: The Genius and the Absurdity." You might be asking, "What the hell is GL™?" Well, my liege, we’ll explore together. In this research project we discuss white jeans, nose jobs, awesome stepfathers, backup boyfriends, Emerson College, study abroad behavior, how to get female friends, and a time when Sarah Silverman was the hottest comedian. Plus, we'll address the age old question: Can men and women actually BE friends???Support the show: https://www.patreon.com/cbcthepodSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
INPUT (prompt), var1, var2!
This week we read Apple computer inventor/Kathy Griffin's ex-boyfriend's memoir "iWoz: Computer Geek to Cult Icon: How I Invented the Personal Computer, Co-Founded Apple, and Had Fun Doing It." We create a code in order to discuss the evolution of Mac, insane tension between Woz and Steve Jobs, early Silicon Valley, scam-ass printers, how we used to fix our own TVs, Freemasons, and ask the ultimate question: does technology really help us or has it gone too far?Support the show: https://www.patreon.com/cbcthepodSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
