| 10/18/26 | #501: MIAMI WINS 43-35 vs Florida State in 2OT | OBB Week 7 Recap Show | Miami beat Florida State 43-35 in double overtime, on the same Saturday five of the top eight teams in the country went down. It wasn't pretty. The Canes piled up 583 yards of offense and still needed two extra periods to put away a Seminoles team they should've handled. We break down how FSU hung around: Mike Norvell refusing to kick (nobody attempted a field goal all night), a field position gap that had Miami starting deep in its own end while FSU kept getting the ball near midfield, back-to-back personal fouls, and three Darian Mensah plays he'd like back. Then the run game. Is "A-gap for life" dead with this offensive line? Javion Mallory went for 108 yards on 13 carries and might be RB1 now, Mark Fletcher is playing through a wrist issue, and yes, we have thoughts on where Girard Pringle ends up. Plus Malachi Toney's two-point throw, true freshman Stafford stepping in when Toney went down, and what went wrong in the secondary on Deuce Robinson's 75-yard touchdown. We also get to the rest of the carnage: Georgia losing to Auburn at home, Notre Dame falling at BYU, Florida knocking off Texas, Julian Sayin's injury at Ohio State, and whether Miami is about to be No. 1 for the first time since 2002. We wrap with AP poll predictions, why college football is turning into NHL hockey, how big the playoff should really be, and a look ahead at Pitt at noon, UNC on Halloween and the trip to Notre Dame.00:00 Cold Open: Canes Survive FSU in Double OT01:19 Historic Upset Saturday & Survive-and-Advance Mode03:20 Where Were the Field Goals?05:06 The Igloo Sandwich: How FSU Hung Around07:47 583 Yards & Back-to-Back Personal Fouls08:59 Field Position by the Numbers11:26 Deuce Robinson's 75-Yarder & the Secondary15:44 A Top-5 Rivalry Game With Real Concerns18:14 "A-Gap for Life Is Dead": O-Line & Run Game21:59 Mensah's "Worst" Game & Rocket Booster Failures23:41 Credit to FSU... | 10/15/26 | #500: Miami Week 7 Preview vs FSU w/ Rudy Fernandez | A Great Time To Be Alive | Five hundred episodes. Four guys, one podcast, and a first episode that almost never came out because the audio was cooked. And the night we hit 500 just happens to be Florida State week. Couldn't have drawn it up any better. We start by tooting our own horns for once: how this thing started on a Vox Pro with maybe four people waiting for it, what 500 episodes has meant to each of us, and why this show only works with four. Then it's the new AP Top 25, with Miami at No. 3 and Alabama somehow not moving after a loss, a Gator fan begging FSU for help, Billy Napier living his best life at JMU, and SMU's recruiting class sitting dead last in the ACC.Then our friend Rudy Fernandez, UM's Executive Vice President for University Operations and Senior Advisor to the President, comes back for his third appearance on the show. Rudy talks about the move from Adidas to Nike, why Miami's next athletic director will look more like a CEO of athletics, the piece of the federal college sports bill Miami wants changed (and why it only helps two schools), the new 30-year campus agreement with Coral Gables, NIL budgets, and what Mario Cristobal has done to build a player-led team. He also shares a great story about his son and a travel-ball coach, admits Dalvin Cook still gives him nightmares, and has a few thoughts on the national media and Notre Dame. And yes, somebody calls Jai Lucas "Jay Clark." We love Jay Clark.IP Daily checks in with a 500th-episode tribute only IP Daily could write. Then it's on to Saturday: keys to the game against a Florida State team limping in at 3-3, over/unders for Darian Mensah, Malachi Toney, Mark Fletcher Jr. and Damon Wilson, our weekly picks (Ohio State-Indiana, Florida-Texas, Alabama-Tennessee, Mizzou-Ole Miss and Notre Dame-BYU), and final score predictions for Miami-FSU.To everybody who's listened along the way, from the first four people to now: thank you. | 10/8/26 | #499: Miami Bye Week Grades | The Meatball Sub | Miami is 5-0, sitting at No. 4 in the AP poll, and finally getting a week off. With the bye here and Hate Week up next, the boys hand out mid-season grades for every position group on the roster.First, Dabo. According to Dabo Swinney, if you take away the pick six and the field goal off a turnover, Clemson was right there. Ro, Jenners, Scoop and Toast have some thoughts on that. They also get into Brian Kelly lecturing Shannon Dawson about how to be a coordinator, Greg McElroy calling Miami the best team in the ACC by a mile, and why Nick Saban keeps going all in on Mario's team. Plus the right guard's selfie from the surgery table, the latest on Lightfoot and Buchanan, and whether a 5-0 start means anything after what happened last October. Then it's report card time. Darian Mensah is completing 84% of his passes with zero picks. The defensive line is leading the country against the run. And the linebacker room, the group this show has complained about for eight straight years, might be the best surprise of the season. Not everybody is handing out A's, though. Toast brought the red pen for the secondary. We close with a Gainesville radio host calling the cops on a caller after Jadan Baugh's rough night against Missouri, then picks for FSU at Louisville, UNC at Pitt, the Red River Shootout, UCLA at Oregon, LSU at Kentucky, and Georgia at Alabama, if that one gets played at all. Episode 500 drops next Thursday with the FSU preview. | 10/4/26 | #498: MIAMI WINS 41-13 at Clemson - OBB Week 5 Recap Show | Your Miami Hurricanes went into Death Valley on a Saturday night and came home with a 41-13 win, a 5-0 record and sole possession of first place in the ACC. Ro, Scoop and Toast are back to break down a game that checked every box.It opened with a three-and-out and a Cooper Barkate touchdown on the second offensive snap. It closed with the offensive line bullying Clemson for nine straight runs and 83 yards right when Miami needed a drive. The guys get into the two response drives, Chase Smith's heads-up play on the snap, why Clemson basically stopped trying to run the ball, and how Miami won big on the road on a night when Darian Mensah and Malachi Toney weren't at their best. Ro also collects on an O-line take he never backed off of. Turns out the line heard all the criticism and took it personally. The injury list keeps getting longer, so the crew asks if that's bad luck or something Mario Cristobal has to answer for with how Greentree practices are run. Either way, the bye week could not have come at a better time before FSU.Then it's around the country. Florida got bamboozled by Mizzou, Pitt lost its quarterback, Virginia Tech looks legit under James Franklin, and Wake Forest and Duke are hanging around. Canes Research has a 5-0 stat every Miami fan wants to hear. We settle up the over/unders, relive the late pick-six that got Mario more fired up than we've seen him in years, and look ahead to a possible top-five showdown at Notre Dame on November 7.Ro's Student of the Game vs Clemson is LIVE on the channel - go check it out now! Plus, nid-season position group grades drop Wednesday during the bye week. | 10/1/26 | #497: Week 5 Preview at Clemson with Eric Mac Lain | Polo Pals | Miami is 4-0, ranked No. 4, and heading into Death Valley as a 16.5-point favorite. That makes this the biggest underdog Dabo Swinney has been in his entire run at Clemson. Oh, and the forecast says it's going to pour.Former Clemson offensive lineman and ACC Network analyst Eric Mac Lain is back on the show, sitting in front of a "worst loss in school history" backdrop that we noticed immediately. Emac tells us why the line feels off to him, who wins the ground game if the weather turns this into a slugfest, and what Clemson has to do to get Darian Mensah off his spot. He makes the case for Mensah as the best quarterback in the country, talks through who on Clemson's roster can even try to stay with Malachi Toney, and gives an honest answer on how Dabo has handled NIL and the portal. Then he makes his pick. Canes fans won't love it.Once Emac leaves, Ro, Scoop and Toast go back and forth on whether the rain actually helps Clemson. Ro thinks it does the opposite and takes the crowd right out of the game, which is how the Polo Pals were born. We also get into the injury report, player prop over/unders for Mensah, Toney, Fletcher and Damon Wilson, everybody's keys to the game, and a few honest feelings about Dabo.Week 5 picks include Pitt at Virginia Tech, Notre Dame at North Carolina, Alabama at Mississippi State, Ohio State at Iowa, Florida at Missouri, UVA at Florida State, and of course Miami at Clemson with final scores. We wrap with that USC radio booth call on the Dante Moore hit and a little something that's probably headed for Benched.Catch us live Saturday night for the Miami vs. Clemson watch-along stream. | 9/27/26 | #496: MIAMI WINS 52-3 vs Central Michigan - OBB Week 4 Recap Show | Miami beat Central Michigan 52-3, and for a good chunk of the night the refs were somehow the bigger story. Ro, Toast and Jenners (filling in for Scoop) get into a game with roughly 30 penalties, 12 of them in the fourth quarter alone, and why all those false starts and holds have them a little nervous about a prime time trip to Death Valley. The good stuff still won out. Miami ran for 201 yards to CMU's 21, outgained them 572 to 158 and went 7 for 7 in the red zone. Four games in, the Canes have the No. 1 run defense in the country at 39.5 yards a game, and that's without Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor. We also get into Damon Wilson II getting robbed of a sack and a scoop-and-score, Malachi Toney's run of 100-yard games, Cooper Barkate's scramble-drill touchdown, and Darian Mensah becoming the first player in FBS history with more touchdown passes (14) than incompletions (12) through four games. Then Vegas posted the Clemson line and the room lost it. Miami opened as a 17.5-point road favorite, it ticked up to 18.5 on DraftKings while we were recording, and nobody at the table knows what to do with that. Also on the show: the ACC scoreboard, Wake Forest knocking off Louisville, PJ Fleck's postgame moment at Washington, the hit on Dante Moore, whether the Big Ten is top-heavy this year, the SEC's push for conference-adjusted playoff selection, our ugly picks record, and a little MLB Wild Card talk before we sign off.Go check out Ro's Student of the Game breakdowns, and catch us live on the stream. | 9/24/26 | #495: Miami Week 4 Preview vs Central Michigan | Three Shades of Orange | Miami is 3-0, leads the country in total offense at 702 yards a game, and went down a spot in the AP poll anyway. Ro, Jenners, Scoop and Toast try to make sense of the drop to No. 6, and most of it comes back to one bad half against Wake Forest. Darian Mensah has 11 touchdowns and zero interceptions, the run defense is holding teams to 45.7 yards a game, and the voters slid Ole Miss ahead of the Canes the minute that game-sealing interception photo hit the internet. From there it's film talk. The secondary is missing its top three corners, so who holds it down now? Wake Forest stunted Miami's interior line all night, and the young guards took their lumps. Scoop has a pretty simple fix: kick Cantwell back outside to tackle and slide McCoy inside to guard. The general feeling in the room is that Wake did Miami a favor by exposing all of this in a double-digit win. Also this week, Mario Cristobal's not-quite-a-complaint about Miami being the only team in the country that hasn't played on a Saturday, a surprisingly heated argument over whether penguins have teeth, and Adidas dropping a 2001 tribute video the same week Miami announced it's going back to Nike. Great video. Still a breakup. Then it's Central Michigan week. The Chippewas are 2-1, Angel Flores leads every quarterback in the country with 312 rushing yards, and they've got the best pass defense in the MAC. The guys set over/unders for Mensah, Mark Fletcher Jr., Jordan Lyle and Flores, give their keys to the game, and take a detour through NC State's end zone disaster and Jimbo Fisher's ACC Network audition. Picks close it out with Texas at Tennessee, Ole Miss at Florida, Oregon at USC and the big question: is anybody taking the Canes to cover 41 and a half? Nobody is.GO CANES!!00:00 Cold open: 3-0, No. 1 offense and a drop in the polls00:37 FIU, Bulls vs. Owls and the SEC logo problem03:23 Miami falls to No. 6 as Ole Miss jumps ahead05:44 Darian Mensah's perfect start and one bad half07:21 Defense check: injuries at corner, elite run defense11:16 Offensive line struggles and interior stunts14:58 Should Cantwell and McCoy switch spots?19:02 Mario Cristobal on finally playing on a Saturday21:17 Penguins don't have teeth (and woodpecker tongues)23:02 Florida State's coaching wish list24:01 Sponsors and Partners30:28 Adidas' 2001 tribute video and the breakup mixtape33:54 Central Michigan scouting report38:54 Over/unders: last week's results and this week's lines44:01 Keys to the game48:37 NC State's end zone fumble, Jimbo and the NFL54:11 Week 3 Pick 'emsFollow OBB:Website: orangebowlboys.comTwitter/X: @OrangeBowlBoysInstagram: @OrangeBowlBoys Roofing issues? | 9/19/26 | #494: MIAMI WINS 33-20 at Wake Forest | OBB Week 3 Recap Show | Miami went to Wake Forest on a Friday night and came home with a 33-20 win. The scoreboard looks fine. The injury report and the second half don’t.Ro, Jenners, Scoop and Toast do the recap Saturday morning. The Canes looked historic for 30 minutes and mortal for the next 30, with a pile of three-and-outs and a lot of bubble screens that went nowhere. The defense is the reason this stayed a win. Corey Heatherman sent a safety at Gio Lopez on nearly every snap in the fourth quarter, and Wake Forest finished with 22 rushing yards. The guys go through who’s hurt (Malachi Toney, Mark Fletcher, a thin secondary, and at least one player who may be done for the year), whether the offense really falls apart without them, and why Shannon Dawson keeps disappearing for entire halves. There’s also a real-talk monologue aimed at Dawson, an argument over Mario Cristobal sending the kicker out for a 54-yarder, a rant about a broadcast that seemed to have one camera, and a hard look at an offensive line that isn’t last year’s group yet.Darian Mensah still had a big night, but he missed a few he doesn’t usually miss, and the guys talk about why teams will keep coming after him with the blitz. Central Michigan is next, then Clemson.Good teams win, great teams cover. Miami was a good team Friday night. | 9/17/26 | #493: Miami Week 3 Preview at Wake Forest | The Fighting Willies | Josh Pray pulls up on the show fresh off a Florida win to talk trash, and Ro, Scoop and Toast let him have it right back — Nike money, Chris Leak's arm, the Swamp, all of it. Then the news actually breaks mid-show: Miami and Nike just signed a 10-year, $20 million-a-year deal, and the guys spend a solid chunk of the episode arguing about what that means for the jersey rotation, the Jumpman brand, and whether Mario Cristobal's going to keep it simple or go full Oregon with it.Once Josh heads out, it's back to business — the FAMU blowout and the beef between Mario and FAMU's coach over running up the score, a check-in on the defense and where Damon Wilson's been hiding, and the fact that Miami still hasn't hired an athletic director. Then it's fair game on Oklahoma's John Mateer, who Gator and Cane fans alike have been listing on Facebook Marketplace after that Michigan game. The back half is all Wake Forest — Gio Lopez as a real dual-threat problem, keys to the game, surprise stat picks, over/unders, and a full slate of weekend picks across the ACC and SEC.GO CANES!!00:00 – Cold Open00:35 – Josh Pray Joins the Show03:14 – Miami's New Nike Deal Breaks04:08 – Uniform Jokes & the Jumpman Money Talk09:13 – Transfer Rumors & Predicting the Gators' Record17:41 – Swamp vs. Doak: Stadium & Tradition Trash Talk21:34 – Josh Pray Says Goodbye24:23 – Sponsor Reads: Roofing, Auto Lease & Betting Picks28:07 – More Nike Talk & Old Jersey Nostalgia33:33 – FAMU Blowout Controversy & the Kneel-Down Debate36:14 – Defense Check-In: Damon Wilson & Injury Concerns40:36 – AD Vacancy & Conference Realignment Talk44:53 – Roasting John Mateer's Oklahoma Season47:34 – Wake Forest Scouting Report: Gio Lopez52:23 – Surprise Stat Predictions53:58 – Keys to the Game57:43 – Over/Unders59:59 – Weekend Picks Roundup1:14:11 – Stream Plans, Show Title & Sign-OffFollow OBB:Website: orangebowlboys.comTwitter/X: @OrangeBowlBoysInstagram: @OrangeBowlBoys Roofing issues? | 9/13/26 | #492: MIAMI WINS 77-7 vs Florida A&M | OBB Week 2 Recap Show | Miami didn't just beat FAMU on Thursday night — they buried them, 77-7, and it looked different from any blowout the Canes have put up in years. Ro, Jenners, Scoop, and Toast break down why the win felt as dominant as the score suggests: Luke Nickel's sharp run at backup quarterback, a freshman class already making plays, and a roster so deep it ranks 119th nationally in transfer portal additions and still looks like this. The guys hit the record-setting 856 total yards, a 17-receiver box score, and Javion Mallory's Frank Gore comparisons, then move on to the rest of the college football weekend. That includes an IP Daily rant on Oregon's regret over letting Mario Cristobal walk, Oklahoma State's stunner over the Ducks, an early case of "fraud season," and the full story on the wild Ohio State-Texas finish. Steve Sarkisian's postgame attitude gets called out, Notre Dame's win over Rice draws some pointed reactions, and the crew previews Miami's Week 3 trip to Wake Forest before catching up on Duke's Manny Diaz and the rest of the ACC.Subscribe for more Miami Hurricanes football coverage all season long, and catch OBB Benched for the lighter side of the show.00:00 – Cold Open: Recapping the FAMU Blowout01:21 – Historic Domination, No Letdown Moments02:45 – Luke Nickel's Strong Backup Performance03:59 – Freshman Flashes: Wingo & Spafford's Wild Catch04:38 – Elite Recruiting Depth, Not the Portal05:15 – Record 856 Total Yards & RB Room Depth06:27 – Mallory's Gore Comparisons & 17 Receivers Catch a Pass07:51 – Kicker Battle & a Shutout Defense10:24 – IP Daily: Torching Oregon and Dan Lanning12:05 – Cristobal's Legacy vs. Oregon's Regression12:57 – Oklahoma State Upsets Oregon, Mateer's Heisman Push15:10 – UNLV Blowout & a Wild Saturday Across College Football16:28 – Oklahoma-Michigan Recap & Arch Manning Criticism20:04 – Ohio State Outlasts Texas in an Instant Classic21:34 – Steve Sarkisian's Holly Rowe Blowup25:59 – Notre Dame Routs Rice & Trash-Talk Fallout27:52 – Previewing Wake Forest Week 329:47 – Manny Diaz's Duke Success, No Bad Blood31:17 – ACC Gauntlet Ahead: UNC, Belichick & Pitt32:51 – Toast's High School Coaching Debut & Show WrapFollow OBB:Website: orangebowlboys.comTwitter/X: @OrangeBowlBoysInstagram: @OrangeBowlBoys Roofing issues? | 8/7/26 | #481: Miami Camp & Mario's Extension | Carson Beck's Gonna Be a Hall of Famer | Mario Cristobal just got paid — a deal that pushes him past $10 million a year — and the first thing he did was hand money back to the school. Congress finally did something about the chaos in college sports, clearing the Protect College Sports Act of 2026 through a major hurdle, and Darian Mensah needed exactly one practice at Green Tree to figure out what he signed up for.Ro, Jenners, Scoop and Toast are watching the Hall of Fame Game live as they break down the extension and why nobody in South Florida is bothered by the math (the market went up, and he still isn't a top-10 paid coach). They get into why this Miami staff runs more like family than a corporate front office, sort through the preseason poll snub (Miami at #7, zero first-place votes, and yes, they have thoughts about Dan Lanning), and check in on a recruiting class that's now sitting at an 81% blue chip ratio. There's also a Leagues Cup road trip that goes sideways over stadium parking, roster updates on Aidan Lowe and Luka Gilbert, a full walkthrough of what the new transfer portal legislation actually changes, and a very confused reaction to Purdue's new AD going viral for the wrong reasons.Football's back, boys.Orange Bowl Boys | Episode 481 is presented by Paul Bange Roofing, Rapid Auto Lease, and BeatinTheBookie.com.00:00 Cold Open: Extension, Congress & Green Tree Tease00:31 Intro: Episode 481, Hall of Fame Game & Friday Countdown01:58 Leagues Cup Road Trip: Messi & the “No Blocky” Bit05:32 Back to Green Tree: Fall Camp Physicality08:09 Blue Chip Ratio Check-In & Playoff Hangover Nerves09:10 Mario Cristobal's Contract Extension, Explained14:34 La Familia: Why Mario Never Leaves Miami17:48 Preseason Poll Snub: Miami Ranked #720:32 Schedule Watch: Notre Dame's Slate & the FSU Rivalry Debate22:06 Recruiting Class News: 5-Star Duo Commits26:38 Local Legend Status: Toney and the 305 Pipeline27:58 Roster News: Aidan Lowe, Luka Gilbert & Award Watch Lists30:26 Carson Beck's Hall of Fame Case31:23 Sponsor Break34:52 Congress Passes the Protect College Sports Act38:35 Purdue AD's Viral “Win Championships” Rant41:57 Benched Teaser, Season Countdown & Naming the Episode44:28 NFL Futures Watch & Sign-OffSubscribe and hit the bell so you never miss an episode. | 8/3/26 | #480: Influencing & 5 Questions | OBB Benched | The Spirit of Europe | Instead of top-rated quarterbacks, training camp or GM sagas... we're talking about influencer degrees, terrible grading scales, getting sucked out of airplanes and Spaceballs! Welcome to OBB Benched!Ro's still out, so Jenners, Scoop, and Toast keep the bench warm one more time before Miami's 2026 fall camp opens tomorrow. This week's five questions cover Arizona State's new bachelor's degree in becoming an influencer (yes, that's real), a screenshot of a grading scale out of California that nobody can quite believe, and the return of Rick Moranis for Spaceballs 2 after 30 years away from the business.Along the way: Scoop's Panda Express standoff over two pennies, a Ryanair passenger who nearly went out the window at 20,000 feet, a sequel debate nobody wins (Phantom Menace still haunts one of these guys), and the athletes whose careers injuries cut short before we ever got to see how good they could've been. Also: Miami lands the No. 1 spot in the ACC's preseason media poll, and Tua's already banged up at Falcons camp before a single practice.#OBBBenched #OrangeBowlBoys #MiamiHurricanes OBB Benched is the offseason, off-topic companion show to Orange Bowl Boys, where no subject is off-limits and nothing is safe.00:00 Cold open — no camp talk today, one day out from Hurricanes camp01:22 Arizona State's new bachelor's degree in influencing07:37 Q1: the degree you wish you'd gone back for11:45 California's controversial new grading scale14:35 The lost art of paying — and getting change — in cash17:38 Maven's "keep the change" moment at Publix19:05 Q2: how you got punished as a kid22:13 Rick Moranis returns for Spaceballs 2 at Comic-Con23:41 Q3: the sequel that was a total letdown25:37 Sequel debate: Top Gun Maverick, Days of Thunder 2, Caddyshack 229:06 Obligatory airline story: Ryanair window scare31:26 Q4: worst airplane passenger you've dealt with35:16 Tua Tagovailoa banged up at Falcons camp35:59 Q5: the athlete injuries robbed of greatness37:18 ACC media poll: Miami picked No. 1 in the preseasonOBB Benched, Episode 480 is presented by Paul Bange Roofing, Rapid Auto Lease, and BeatinTheBookie.com. | 7/29/26 | #479: Miami Camp 1 Week Away | We Found Something | Ro's off in the Keys chasing lobster, so it's Jenners, Scoop, and Toast holding down the show three days before Miami's 2026 fall camp officially opens. The guys get into whether last year's back-half surge was a real foundational shift for this program or just a hot streak that happened to end at the right time — breaking down the offensive line, a running back room that's the same faces with a different mentality, and a wide receiver group they think is one of the deepest in the country. From there it's a full defensive line check-in (Lightfoot, Damon Wilson, Blount, Hayden Lowe) before the crew gets into Todd McShay's praise for five-star quarterback commit Darian Mensah and what a locked-in QB1 means for how Miami spends money everywhere else on the roster. They also run through PFF's early returning ACC quarterback rankings and argue about who's missing from the list.Outside of Coral Gables, the guys break down North Carolina showing GM Michael Lombardi the door before Labor Day, then play a game guessing how long Bill Belichick survives the season given his record without Tom Brady. FSU fans get a bonus storyline too — Tom Herman reportedly signed on as an hourly staffer making $25 an hour while still owed millions from his LSU buyout.Camp opens next Tuesday, so consider this the last quiet week before things get real. | 7/27/26 | #478: Tyson, Sewer People & 5 Questions | OBB Benched | We're All Struggling Down Here | Instead of tampering, tired narratives or big game anticipation... we're talking about gender confusion, old lady asses, sewer people and vacuum cleaner sex... welcome to OBB Benched! The guys start off arguing about a couple of new streaming shows — a prison-break thriller called I Will Find You and a little-people dating show on HBO Max that spirals into a full debate over Peter Dinklage and the Snow White remake. From there it's Mike Tyson at the ESPYs not knowing who Shohei Ohtani is, which somehow becomes the highlight of the whole segment. Then it's two Florida stories back to back — a 77-year-old woman with an extremely unfortunate randomized license plate, and a Central Florida man who made the news for what he was doing with a vacuum cleaner in broad daylight. In between, there's a real, honest-to-God mystery about groups of people sneaking into the New York City sewer system at night that nobody can quite explain. The back half is Five Questions: the coolest last name anyone's ever heard, the greatest uniform in sports history, a decision made in under five seconds that changed somebody's life, the word that instantly ruins a sentence, and the one animal that's a flat-out 10 out of 10 masterpiece. Kangaroo, horse, and tiger all get their case made. | 7/23/26 | #477: Miami's Superstar Snub | Candice Everdeen | Big news out of the Roman household before the football even starts tonight — Tali is officially headed to Loyola Marymount to play beach volleyball, and Ro takes you through the whole recruiting journey, including the moment she almost talked herself out of leaving Miami. From there it's straight into ACC Media Week, where Darian Mensah explains why he left Duke for the freedom of Shannon Dawson's offense, and the crew breaks down the money situation that pushed him out of that Duke locker room in the first place. Manny Diaz gets his say on the tampering questions that followed Mensah to Coral Gables, and Pat Narduzzi gets absolutely nothing but grief for it.From there the running back room conversation takes over — is this current Miami group the best the program has ever had, and how does it stack up against the Gore-Portis-McGahee era? Ro tells the story of the very first recruiting tape he ever watched, thirty years ago, and who was on it. Then the real outrage of the week: Malachi Toney getting left off the ACC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year ballot entirely, while Darian Mensah gets the nod for Miami. The guys argue about whether the one-player-per-team rule makes any sense at all.Second half of the show goes fully off the rails — a countdown to kickoff on the whiteboard at home, a look ahead at what might be the best Saturday of college football all year on November 7th, some FSU bulletin board material that gets an immediate response, and a tangent about a certain senator's whereabouts that somehow ends with a full breakdown of tortoise lifespans, geography, and mating habits.
