Saintsaholics Anonymous: A New Orleans Saints Podcast

Another week, another disappointing Saints performance. But the problems in New Orleans are bigger than just the ones on the field. This week, we're turning our attention to the top, questioning the leadership of Mickey Loomis and Gayle Benson, the organization's lack of accountability, and whether meaningful change is possible without a shakeup at the highest levels. The Saints had this one. Until they didn't. We break-down New Orleans' 35-27 loss to Las Vegas, from Shough's four touchdowns to four turnover game, our expectations moving forward, and a glimpse into next week's matchup against our most-hated opponent, the Atlanta Falcons. The Saints leave Detroit with a heartbreaking 31-30 overtime loss to the Lions. We break-down the 21-point comeback, Tyler Shough's 411-yard performance, the decision to go for two, what impressed us, what still needs work, and what it all means as the Saints turn their attention to their matchup against Baltimore.Like, follow, subscribe, and join us all season long!@Saintsaholics | https://www.saintsaholics.com/Who Dat!Theme music: "Heart of the City (Who Dat)" by TEAMMFNWe are proud to feature this New Orleans Saints anthem as the official theme song of Saintsaholics Anonymous. The Saints signing of Travis E'tienne reminded us of the wealth of quality NFL players, both past and present, from our home state of Louisiana. It also got us thinking how many stars and NFL Hall of Famers, including many from New Orleans, reached their heights for other teams. This begged the question: What players from Louisiana could have most helped the Saints if they had played for us instead of elsewhere? We each picked one offensive and one defensive player from the past who we thought answered this question - with ONE CAVEAT - the player you pick would replace whoever the Saints had starting at that position at that time/during the years the selected player was in the league. So, obviously Peyton Manning stands out, BUT picking him in this exercise means no Brees Era for the years that Peyton played. Would any of us DARE go there??? We also do the same exercise with current players. Definitely a fun/state-prideful/though-provoking episode. TUNE IN! Well, the Saints certainly wasted ZERO time getting to work during the "legal tampering" period of this year's Free Agency period, signing bona fide NFL starters and impact players at HUGE positions of need. We also managed some really solid "under the radar" signings. Of course, the good news comes with an absolute dagger to the Saints fans' collective heart in apparently deciding not to re-sign Demario. To say "He'll be missed" is a gigantic understatement. BUT, in the theme of wasting no time, we reunite with a former surprise standout LB the day after Demario's departure. Definitely a solid listen, and worth hearing who out of the three of us deserves the most credit for calling it close to dead on the money as to who we'd sign and how quickly we'd sign some standout FA's. Also, we dive into how these signings will affect our draft strategy at No. 8 overall. Without fail this week has snuck up on us once again. It is NFL COMBINE week aka every dude's favorite (and only?) week to deliberately turn on the TV to watch other dudes run around in their underwear (or so the story goes). But in all seriousness, we talk about some of the main guys we have our eye on this week and what results have surprised us already. We also debate the actual significance of the Combine as a whole. Does it really show us everything so many people claim it does or is it, nowadays, more of a pre-draft hype/PR exercise for guys looking to improve their stock? And, of course, we turn the discussion multiple times into a Saints draft strategy discussion as a whole. Solid ep as we venture further into the beginnings of the 2026 offseason. TUNE IN! As we embark on a new Saints season, we are embarking on a new journey ourselves. Your favorite Saints Podcast now has a NEW name: the Saintsaholics Anonymous Podcast. Fret not, for we will still take every opportunity to reference 28 to 3 and all possible ways the falcons suck, but for reasons stated in this episode, we're going in a new direction with the name and the brand. It's one that every true die-hard Saints fan can absolutely resonate with.PLUS, besides introducing the world to our new name/brand refresh, we get into some actual football talk with our initial offseason outlook for the Saints. Who and/or what positions do we want to see the team prioritize in free agency as well as the draft. Some solid discussion at this early pre-Mardi Gras juncture of the off-season. TUNE IN! WHO DAT?!

It's one of our favorite episodes of the year, our SEASON RECAP and our "Review of the Preview". This is PART ONE of a two part series, in which we look back on what we had to say about the offense and defense BEFORE the season - in our Season Preview Ep - and now, give our takes on how close or how far off we were after the dust has settled on the year. Definitely a worthwhile watch and listen, as naturally, some of our takes were spot on while others were...not so much.
