The Modern Fairy Sightings Podcast

A small being walked across Rebekah’s home after a sense of presence had been felt for some time. She never imagined it was possible to have an experience like this…until it happened. The therianthrope being appeared weary from travelling, with staff in hand - ‘his’ face reminiscent of an indigenous person. He passed across a doorway in Rebekah's home, seemingly across the building, incongruent to the layout of the house. "The creature was maybe about knee high. It was bipedal and walked with a human gait, but it was a little hunched. I think he might have been wearing brown breeches or something, but nothing else, because his top half was hairy or fur covered, like an animal...my impression was a mixture of animal and human in feature." We discuss the possibility that her home, which is situated next to a mine (a potentially significant factor), lies on a fairy path (a line between two sacred points in the landscape which fairy beings travel along). We also hear how a previous occupant may have been present in the house and possibly took the form of an ‘angel’ who used to visit Rebekah’s daughter as a child. I was fascinated to hear about the ancient ‘Stonehenge-like’ monument beneath the surface of Lake Michigan - one of the sacred sites mentioned. For some time now, I had been meaning to share the profound experiences that took place in relation to my father’s death. It feels tender and vulnerable to offer these stories but I own the decision to do that. I hope that hearing about these experiences might help someone else who is moving through a death or grief process…or they might simply provide another way to view these moments which inevitably take place at some time or another in all our lives. It’s been quiet on the Pod lately as I’m in the last few weeks of writing my book, ‘Modern Fairy Sightings: Personal Encounters in Extraordinary Times.’ I'll be back to my normal fortnightly release from April onwards. I speak with Rick, whose father was an intelligence agent in the CIA from the 1950s onwards. One night in 1954 in Austria, when Rick was a young child left alone briefly in his parents' bed, something unseen began pulling at his body from the bottom of the bed. Eventually, a red being popped up at the side of his bed and shouted ‘FA!’ in his face. It was the culmination of many other unsettling experiences. The family later returned to North America, living in various locations.Later, as a young man while training in Buddhist meditation techniques his encounters with Otherworldly beings began to reignite. Greg, an academic and lifelong experiencer contacted me with what he felt was a gnome encounter.We discuss early memories including his crib levitating and spindly black creatures who would appear at the side of his childhood bed. The Case of the 'Sandown Clown' on the Isle of Wight has intrigued researchers for decades. Now, a woman claiming to be the long-sought-after witness, 'Fay' (a pseudonym) who was seven when the encounter took place has made contact with fellow Wight Islander, Paul Wilson. The woman who has provided compelling material evidence now reports subsequent encounters took place with the same being in 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1989. Here Paul describes those encounters and reveals further information about the original encounter, which was reported to BUFORA in 1978 We also hear about her father's experiences, how they may relate to her encounters and much more. Llyn Hafod y Llyn (The Lake of the Lake Lodge/Shelter!!) ‘Hafod’ is the word for a place on high land where the shepherds would stay in summer while tending their sheep. ( ‘Haf’=Summer ‘Fod’ = place/to be). Lastly, the story of the circle of beings that I was trying to remember actually happened in Westmeath, Ireland...It's in Dermot MacManus's The Middle Kingdom. It is set at Clonmillan Hill. The circle of beings move in a similar way to that reported by Siôn. In addition, just like report from NW Wales, this area was also known to be connected with Otherworldly experiences. The description of bagpipes suggest music may have also played an element.
