| 10/5/26 | October 28th: The Day Iran Breaks the Bond Market | On September 16, the day the Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the first time since 2023, the speaker of Iran's parliament posted a math equation. It was the formula American central bankers use to set interest rates, with two new terms added, each named after a waterway that Iran and its allies can close. It looked like a joke. One week later, diesel hit $6.53 a gallon, the highest price ever recorded in the United States. The equation was a claim: whoever controls the price of oil controls the price of money in America, from a family's mortgage to the interest on $40 trillion of government debt. Washington has an answer, and it is not cheaper oil. Both sides want crude expensive, for opposite reasons. Only one of them needs it to last. The Fed's next decision is October 28. | 9/28/26 | America vs. Europe: Which is Canada's future partner? | On August 22, Canada walked out of trade talks with the United States, and tariffs of 50 percent took effect on billions of dollars of Canadian goods. The official story is that Washington asked for too much and offered too little. The final demand tells the real story: the Americans asked for a say over which countries Canada could sign trade deals with. Ottawa has faced this exact choice before. In 1972 it signed an agreement with Europe and waited for the trade to follow. The trade never came, because nothing had been built to carry it. Now Europe is offering Canada a seat as its first associate member, the world's largest investors have flown to Toronto, and the tax code has been rewritten to pay for what 1972 never built. Whether it works this time comes down to one thing. It is not the agreement. | 9/14/26 | The Truth About Why Countries Are Pulling Their Gold From America | This year, two of America's oldest allies quietly took their gold out of the United States. France went first and emptied its New York holdings entirely. The Netherlands went second, moving 86 tonnes. Both governments gave the same answer: it's not you, it's me. Paris said the bars were old. Amsterdam said it wanted to be ready for a crisis. Both made a point of adding that the move was not political. Governments do not describe a technical upgrade as "not political" unless somebody has asked the question. Roughly 215 tonnes left American custody this year, and only 27 of them ever went anywhere. The rest changed hands without a single vault door opening. That detail is the whole story, and it explains why no finance minister on earth will say the real reason out loud. | 8/22/26 | The Day America Ran Out of Options | The slow death of the dollar has already begun and the man who just took control of the Federal Reserve can't stop it. Jay breaks down the impossible choice now sitting on the desk of the new Fed Chairman, Kevin Warsh. He traces the trap back to the Panic of 1907, the run on the Knickerbocker Trust and the day J.P. Morgan saved the entire U.S. financial system out of his private library with real gold and cash, and shows how that single crisis built the Federal Reserve, and how the Fed has quietly gone from moving real money to conjuring it out of thin air on a keyboard. As foreign governments are forced to sell U.S. Treasuries to pay for oil, Warsh is cornered into one of three choices: defend the dollar and crush the economy, print to save the bond market and bleed the currency, or walk away from the war and surrender American credibility. Jay explains why every central banker in history, when forced to choose between a fast death and a slow death, makes the exact same call — every single time — and what that means for you before it arrives. | 8/22/26 | The First Domino in the US Debt Crisis | The United States debt crisis is starting to accelerate. Jay breaks down how energy disruptions tied to the Strait of Hormuz could force countries like the UAE and Kuwait to sell U.S. Treasuries for cash, driving yields higher and making borrowing more expensive across the American economy. He explains why emergency dollar swap lines may become Washington’s preferred pressure valve, how they work, and why the first requests for support could signal a much larger financial problem ahead. | 8/21/26 | This won't end well - for anybody. | In the next 90 days, the price of your iPhone is going up. So is your car. So is the wiring in your walls. Not because of inflation. Not because of tariffs. Because a war 7,000 miles away is breaking the system that builds everything. This isn’t an oil story. It’s a supply chain story. Sulfur stops moving. Chemicals get rationed. Copper and cobalt production slows. And suddenly, the cost of building the modern world starts rising. Most people think the U.S. is protected because it has energy. That’s the wrong model. A modern economy doesn’t run on oil alone. It runs on thousands of inputs—most of which it doesn’t produce anymore. Break one link, and the whole system tightens. That’s what you’re watching happen now. ⸻ Sources & Attributions Social Media (Editorial / Commentary Use) https://www.linkedin.com/in/merlenye https://x.com/joshuafarahzad https://x.com/MerleNye News / Context United Nations News (Strait of Hormuz disruption reporting) Public Domain Footage U.S. Department of Defense via DVIDS https://www.dvidshub.net/video/997733/us-forces-launch-operation-epic-fury https://www.dvidshub.net/video/998719/operation-epic-fury-we-control-skies Stock Media Adobe Stock Alamy Music Artlist (Licensed) https://artlist.io ⸻ Disclaimer The appearance of U.S. Department of Defense visual information does not imply or constitute DoD endorsement. ⸻ Chapters 0:00 Prices are about to move 1:11 Why Hormuz actually matters 3:34 The system most people don’t see 5:09 Chemicals to metals to everything 7:03 The cascade 8:07 The energy myth 13:51 A different industrial model 17:02 Proto Town 19:22 Hard assets vs markets 20:34 The shift to scarcity Learn to invest alongside the top minds in commodities. | 8/21/26 | Two Wars: One You Can See. One You Can't. | Jay gives a breakdown of a conflict most people are only half watching. On the surface, it’s a military confrontation in the Middle East. But underneath, a second war is unfolding in bond markets and currency flows and that may carry far greater consequences. As energy supply chains fracture and the Strait of Hormuz closes, the ripple effects move fast: through oil, into global pricing, and straight into sovereign debt markets. The result is a feedback loop that puts the U.S. in a position with no clean exit. Learn to invest alongside the top minds in commodities. Join The Commodity University today.
