That's Joe DeFranco's advice for every man over 40 who's still training like he's 25, and he says he could end the podcast right there. We're glad he didn't, because the next hour is the system behind the most famous rebuild in strength and conditioning: Triple H at 40, body breaking down, one injury after another, willing to trade his physique for function. Joe told him he'd look the same or better. Three months without a heavy back lift, face pulls and band pull-aparts instead of 150-pound dumbbell rows, and his tailor measured his upper back bigger. Sixteen years later they still train together. On this episode of the DDT Method Podcast Drew gets the whole method: no mandatory exercises, upper/lower over the bro split, unilateral lower body, and relative-strength goals like a weighted push-up 10RM that you can't improve while carrying extra body fat.5 Key TakeawaysThe one piece of advice Joe says could end the podcast, and why most men over 40 ignore it every time they lift. Why Joe would make every online coach train people in person for five years first, and the one-in-fifty problem research can't solve. The exact changes that rebuilt Triple H, including the three months his tailor noticed before he did.The bodyweight above which every one of Joe's health markers goes bad, and the mindset shift that got him under it at 51.The weekly template for being good at everything: how many lifts, how many steps, how much zone 2, and the only HIIT session you need.Chapters0:00 Where men over 40 are dropping the ball0:47 If it hurts, stop: listen to your body, not the internet4:03 From a 500-square-foot storage closet to the New York Giants9:44 Train people in person for five years before you coach online18:38 Joe's transformation at 40: satisfied not full, 7.5/10 workouts, move more23:18 What goes wrong in your 40s even when you do everything right26:16 Bigger is not better after 40: leaner and stronger30:18 Good at everything: the pro wrestler problem33:48 No mandatory exercises: concurrent programming and relative-strength goals43:32 How Joe rebuilt Triple H: three months without a heavy weight53:07 The upper/lower split, two-minute mobility, and the unused home gym1:00:35 Cardio: don't start with Norwegian 4x41:04:48 The weekly template: lifts, steps, zone 2, and one HIIT session1:07:01 Where to find JoeConnect with Joe DeFrancoInstagram – https://www.instagram.com/defrancosgym/Website – https://www.defrancostraining.comYouTube – https://www.youtube.com/joedefrancoPodcast – The Industrial Strength Show

That's Dr. Gabriel Alizaidy's diagnosis in the first ninety seconds of this episode of the DDT Method Podcast, and the next hour is the cure: pick the right tool for the right job, run one or two things at a time, dose low and slow, and let someone who isn't you make the call. Drew's intake forms went from three entries to forty-seven. Both of them have been guilty. Nobody gets to feel superior here. The section people will replay is mitochondria. SS-31 is physical therapy for your mitochondria. MOTS-c is exercise. Run them in the wrong order and you get the pattern Gabe sees constantly: two great injections, then tired all the time. He explains mitochondria the way he'd explain them to his mom (miles per gallon, exhaust, scrap the broken car), why diet, sleep, and training come before anything goes in a syringe, why MOTS-c works better with exercise instead of replacing it, and the MOTS-c doses he won't touch. Then the wide-angle stuff: red light therapy and nitric oxide, oxytocin as the peptide he uses before public speaking, myostatin inhibitors and FLGR from a safe distance, how Drew finds new compounds before they hit Instagram, why phase 3 trials for BPC-157 and TB-500 aren't coming, and the decision-fatigue conversation that lands where wealthy people already live: get an advisor for this part of your life. First peptide or fifteenth, this is the episode about how to choose.About the guest: Dr. Gabriel Alizaidy (MD; MS in Precision Health, University of Chicago) came up through CAR-T cancer research at UChicago, runs clinical R&D for a performance-medicine telehealth company, and sat on the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee that voted this summer to move BPC-157, TB-500, KPV, and MOTS-c toward compounding pharmacies.5 Key TakeawaysThe one-line diagnosis an FDA panel doctor gives for how most people use peptides. Why SS-31 is physical therapy and MOTS-c is exercise for your mitochondria. The number of compounds Drew is actually running right now, even though he has vials of everything. Why phase three trials for BPC-157 and TB-500 aren't coming, and what a clinical researcher says should stand in for them. The reason Gabe says even a knowledgeable person shouldn't build their own stack, and the kind of advisor he thinks belongs in your corner.Chapters 0:00 Welcome, and how to work with DDT Method1:24 The #1 peptide mistake: collecting like Pokémon3:13 Who Gabe is: CAR-T research, telehealth R&D, and the FDA peptide panel8:17 The new fat-loss compounds, and why he won't rush them12:53 Mitochondria explained: miles per gallon and exhaust16:59 The non-negotiables before you inject anything20:24 SS-31 is physical therapy, MOTS-c is exercise: which comes first22:58 A word from Amplify Wellness and Janus Optimize25:33 Low and slow: the doses he won't touch28:30 Folate, AMPK, and cardiolipin: what the two peptides actually do33:04 Red light therapy and nitric oxide38:08 Oxytocin: the peptide for public speaking and connection42:52 Myostatin inhibitors and FLGR: watching, not touching47:55 A word from Amplify Wellness, Janus Optimize, and the Skool group50:09 How Drew finds new compounds, and why RCTs aren't coming55:56 Less is more: Drew's medicine cabinet confession1:00:32 Decision fatigue: put the call in an expert's hands1:06:42 Where to find GabeConnect with Dr. Gabriel AlizaidyInstagram – @gabrielalizaidyLinkedIn – https://www.linkedin.com/in/galizaidy/YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiOE4LyFDVoSuQLSLX7SM8A

Jay Ferruggia is the common denominator. He coaches CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, Chad Gable and a who's who of WWE, MLB, NFL and UFC athletes, wrote the Men's Fitness Hardgainer column for a decade, and has spent 30 years fixing the same problems on himself that his clients bring him.His answer is the opposite of what most lifters are doing. Less volume, harder sets, shorter warm-ups, wider rep brackets, and a logbook that is loosely held. More carbs, less fat, more meals, no fasting. Morning sun, sleep, a walk after dinner. And a scoreboard most people have never checked: their morning body temperature.Drew and Jay walk through the CM Punk transformation in detail, the recovery tools that actually move the needle versus the ones that just look good on Instagram, why "eat less, move more" is backwards for the people who are already stuck, how Jay programs cardio for busy people in five to ten minutes, and how to balance looking the part with moving like an athlete.5 TakeawaysCM Punk was training at 5 reps in reserve with far too much volume. Jay cut the volume and the physique showed up in 6 weeks.Jay ate 200 grams of fat a day for years without knowing it. He cut it to 50 and got the leanest he's ever been at 52.A 95.6° morning temperature means you don't burn fat, build muscle or fight off a cold. The fix starts with orange juice before coffee.Take your temperature before and after a brutal workout. It drops. That's why most of his clients get leaner training less and eating more. His warm-up before the 80-pound dumbbells is three sets totaling 12 reps. Most guys do 40 and wonder why the work sets feel heavy.Chapters0:00 Intro: Why Half the WWE Roster Got Jacked2:05 Minimum Effective Dose & Recovery for Banged-Up Athletes8:16 From 147 Pounds to Coaching Pros: Jay's Background18:44 The CM Punk Case Study: Volume, Carbs & Sleep26:09 The Recovery Tools That Actually Move the Needle30:42 Body Temperature: The Metabolic Scoreboard37:00 How to Program Cardio & HIIT for Busy People43:32 Warm-Ups, Rep Brackets & the Logbook Trap54:55 Balancing Aesthetics & Athleticism in a Program60:49 What Dogs Taught Jay About Presence63:59 Building the Perfect Meal PlanConnect with Jay:Jay's site & coaching: https://jay.fitInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jayferruggiaYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUuDiUu00raDqT_MaNhx_HwRenegade Radio podcast (Apple): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/renegade-radio-with-jay-ferruggia/id853941025Renegade Radio podcast (Spotify): https://open.spotify.com/show/0Hw50ZFA1gOfC1vQEZDI3u

In this episode he lays out the full order of operations for building extreme size, and the argument underneath it is that safer use is not lower use. Every input has a range where it still returns something. The job is to push each lever as far as it productively goes and then move to the next one, instead of pushing harder on the one you already finished. He walks it in sequence: training and calories before any drug, testosterone and a DHT before 19-nors, growth hormone and insulin only once diet and cardio are already consistent, and peptides last because they buy the health headroom that lets the whole thing keep running. Along the way, the blood work cadence he wants, the blood pressure and hematocrit management most people ignore, the supplement protocol he credits for a clean echocardiogram after years of aggressive cycles, and the 2,700mg trenbolone mistake that taught him low doses work better. What you'll learnWhat "safer use" actually means in practice: pushing many levers as far as each one goes, rather than maxing a single pathwayThe full buildout order, from training and calorie structure through anabolics, cardio, GH, insulin and peptidesWhere the real thresholds sit on testosterone and growth hormone, and why insulin follows carbohydrate demand rather than creating itThe blood work cadence, blood pressure and hematocrit management, and the supplement protocol behind a clean echocardiogram after years of aggressive cyclesWhat peptides actually do in an enhanced protocol, and why they are health infrastructure rather than growth drugsChapters0:00 Effort, Method & How He Got Here7:36 What Safer Use Actually Means14:11 The Buildout Begins: Training, Calories & First Anabolics22:39 Estrogen, Neurosteroids & Blood Work Frequency28:56 Blood Pressure, Hematocrit, Cardiac Scans & Calcium Scores41:48 Cardio as an Anabolic Tool45:10 Growth Hormone & Insulin: Thresholds and Demand54:38 Peptides: The Levers That Keep the Rest Running1:00:05 Rapid Fire & the Tren StoryConnect with Alex HammerstoneInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexhammerstone/X: https://x.com/alexhammerstone

He's a pharmacist with a background in exercise physiology, he came up alongside Charles Poliquin, and his lab was the first to synthesize MOTS-c.Which means he watched the entire field get built. And he's watching the current boom repeat mistakes that were already settled twenty years ago.In this episode he takes apart the errors nobody in the space seems to notice: why "TB-500" doesn't reliably tell you which molecule is in the vial, why the GHK-Cu results people are excited about are mostly the copper, why the doses that sound dangerous are the ones the papers actually used, and why the human research everyone says doesn't exist has existed for decades — just not in English. He also gives you his own protocol, which is a single weekly injection, and the reasoning that makes daily pinning unnecessary for most people. Then he does the thing almost nobody in this space does: when Drew asks him to rank SS-31 against MOTS-c, he says he doesn't know enough to answer. If you've been running peptides for a few years and you're starting to wonder how much of what you've been told is actually true, this is the hour. This conversation is for informational and educational purposes only and is not medical advice. He competed straight through to 2014, took a decade off, spent five years as a corrections officer working the main intake at Rikers Island, then moved his family to South Florida and went back to coaching full-time — which is what he has actually been doing since 2011. He came back to the stage in 2024 and turned pro. He promotes the IFBB South Florida Pro and the NPC Chisel Classic, had six athletes on the Olympia stage last year, and learned the trade under Dave Palumbo, Chad Nichols, Fakhri Mubarak and George Farah, back when prep meant an hour on the step mill in the morning and another hour at night. That background is what makes this conversation worth an hour, because Adam now argues almost the opposite of how he was brought up. His whole system is built on using less pharmacological force and controlling the conditions around it instead. Peptides that let him take clenbuterol down to nothing. Starting prep near maintenance rather than in a hole, so there's somewhere to go at eight weeks out. Never more than forty minutes of cardio in a sitting, because the inflammation costs more than the calories buy. Shortening a female's time on rather than cutting a male's dose in half — the poison is in the duration, not the dose. Weekly blood pressure and glucose readings, because a stalled athlete is usually a filtration problem rather than a diet problem. A fifteen-minute walk after a meal instead of another unit of insulin. And a peak week where water and sodium go up rather than down, because water is what carries the carbohydrate into the muscle. He closes with the worst protocol he has ever seen a female handed by another coach, which is the argument for everything above it.5 Key TakeawaysWhy athletes who start prep already underfed have nowhere left to go by six weeks out, and where Adam sets the starting point insteadThe rule that governs how he builds every female cycle, and why halving a male's dose is the most common and most damaging mistake in the sportThe early virilization signs that are still reversible if you catch them, and the ones that aren'tWhat an elevated blood pressure reading tells you about why an athlete has stopped losing weight, and why fixing it moves the scaleWhy he drives water and sodium up in peak week rather than stripping them, and what happens to a carb load when an athlete is dehydratedChapters0:00 The Peptides That Replaced High-Dose Stimulants3:44 From Teen Nationals to Rikers Island to Coaching Full-Time8:18 How Fat Loss Prep Changed: Starting Point, Fatigue and Cardio Structure14:51 SLU-PP-332, Clenbuterol and Cycling Fat Loss Drugs23:13 Peptides for Muscle, and Building a Male Cycle27:31 Female Cycles: Duration Over Dose, Virilization Signs and Multi-Show Strategy35:31 What Blood Work Keeps Showing, and Managing Hematocrit39:44 The Cardiovascular Stack, Blood Pressure and Glucose45:38 Insulin, Carb Timing and the Post-Meal Walk53:00 Steps, HIIT, Sleep and the Daily Tracker59:28 Peak Week: Why Water and Sodium Go Up1:03:42 Where to Find Adam, and the Worst Cycle He's SeenConnect with AdamInstagram – https://www.instagram.com/adamreichCoaching with Team Best Built

Ethan Okunas makes the case that this is the wrong end of the equation entirely. Going from 10,000 to 50,000 steps buys you maybe 150 calories. A five-mile run, 300 or 400. Meanwhile GLP-1 drugs, which don't raise your metabolism at all, produce dramatic results through one mechanism only: they make you less hungry.Ethan is a registered dietitian who spent his first job out of school doing outpatient weight loss inside a hospital system, and watched the same thing happen over and over. People lost the weight. Then 75% of them had it back within a year and 95% within five. The calorie deficit worked and then it stopped working, and nobody could tell him why. This episode is his answer. Leptin is the hormone that counts your stored energy and sets your appetite accordingly, and most people's count is wrong — which is what leptin resistance actually is. Leptin runs on a 24-hour clock that only stays synchronized if you see the sunrise. Ethan walks through the five levers that restore leptin sensitivity, the study showing that morning light raises leptin and lowers ghrelin even after a terrible night of sleep, and why the DHA in your eyes determines how much you actually get out of the sun you're standing in.From there it goes deeper: how mitochondria turn a burger into electrons and protons, Gilbert Ling's argument that we don't make enough ATP to power ourselves, structured water as the body's real battery, why arterial plaque may be an exclusion zone problem, and the deuterium story — why the extra neutron in heavy hydrogen jams the ATP motor, why eating a pineapple in a New York winter is a mitochondrial problem, and why deuterium-depleted water is a prescribed cancer therapy in parts of Europe.KEY TAKEAWAYS:GLP-1s don't raise your metabolism — appetite suppression is the whole mechanism, which is exactly why the weight comes backThe five levers that restore leptin sensitivity, in the order Ethan prioritizes themThe study nobody cites: morning sunlight raises leptin and lowers ghrelin even after a poor night of sleepWhy the DHA in your eye membranes decides how much usable signal you extract from the same sunlightDeuterium, the ATP motor, and the practical ways to lower it without buying $10-a-bottle waterCHAPTERS:0:00 Why fat loss isn't a calorie-burning problem1:27 GLP-1s prove appetite is the whole game3:12 Leptin, and what leptin resistance really is5:50 Sunrise, photons, and the 24-hour clock8:52 DHA, seed oils, and the rest of the leptin levers16:24 Ethan's story and the 95% regain problem25:03 What "quantum" actually means27:16 Mitochondria, ATP, and the battery you didn't know you had33:58 EMFs, voltage, and structured water44:03 Deuterium and the marble in the hose48:20 How to lower deuterium (mostly for free)54:41 The 80/20 rule, the toxins everyone forgets, and where to find EthanConnect with Ethan Okunas:Instagram: @quantum.dietitianWebsite and books: https://quantumdietitian.comBooks: Quantum Nutrition and Quantum Weight Loss (buy direct through the site — ebook buyers get edition updates free)Coaching: DM on InstagramBooks mentioned in this episode:The Fourth Phase of Water — Gerald PollackThe Invisible Rainbow — Arthur FirstenbergThe Rainbow and the Worm — Mae-Wan HoHealth and Light — John OttUnderstanding the Heart — Stephen HusseyLife on the Edge — Jim Al-Khalili and Johnjoe McFadden

In this episode, he breaks down why most people's training is Instagram mimicry running on guesswork, and what it looks like to run your body like an operating system instead: assess the limiters, test readiness daily, and let the data decide how hard you push.Phil lays out the exact readiness tests he uses every morning — including a 60-second check you can do with an ice bucket — plus the red/yellow/green system that tells you when to push and when to back off, why how fast your heart rate drops matters more than how high it climbs, and the one mistake with ice baths that quietly blunts your gains. The problem isn't the compounds. It's that they're picking them without understanding what the body is actually asking for.Anthony Castore is back for his third appearance on the DDT Method Podcast, and this time he and Drew go deep on the concept most in the peptide world completely skip: your training stimulus sends a specific cellular signal, and your compounds need to be directionally aligned with that signal to amplify results — not create noise.Metabolic training creates a completely different biological environment than hypertrophic training, which is completely different from neural/strength training. Each calls for a different set of tools. Using the wrong ones isn't neutral — it's actively working against the adaptation you're chasing. From MOTS-c and SLU PP-332 for metabolic phases, to IGF-DES and epicatechin for hypertrophy, to cerebrolysin and S-lactate for neural output — this is the pairing guide nobody made. This is the "money is no object, everything's been tested, leave nothing on the table" stack for advanced athletes, executives and high performers.Key TakeawaysWhy 6–8 weeks of mitochondrial prep before a cut makes fat loss faster and protects muscleNathan's 4-block prep sequence of cleanup, repair, redox, and biogenesisWhy low insulin "takes the brakes off" stored fat, and why yohimbine is a day-one stubborn-fat tool, not a last resortHow Nathan dropped 18 lbs in 4.5 weeks (ab folds 8mm → 3.5mm) without hunger or crashingAnthony's calorie-cycling modelThe cell-danger response that explains why a cut paradoxically stallsWhy cell hydration (not just an electrolyte packet) makes peptides actually signalClenbuterol vs. mirabegron, and keeping receptors sensitive instead of chasing doseHow to build the ultimate shred stack for youConnect with Optimal NathanYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@OptimalNathanInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/optimalnathanBioregulators course: https://whop.com/the-optimization-labConnect with Anthony CastoreInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/anthonycastore/Community: https://www.skool.com/castore-built-to-adapt-7414/For education only — not medical advice. After reversing his own Crohn's disease with peptides and walking away from a career as a global CIO, he now runs three manufacturing facilities and custom-formulates the compounds IFBB pros run into the Olympia. In this episode he pulls back the curtain on what actually works — and what's quietly wasting your money.Drew Donaldson and Mike go deep on the compounds everyone's arguing about: how SLU-PP-332 and BAM15 really work (and why stacking them at the same time backfires), the SS-31 dosing most people get completely wrong, why "less is more" beats the kitchen-sink approach, GLP-1s and muscle preservation, the bioglutide controversy, and the senolytic course that fixed Mike's knees. This is one of the most protocol-dense conversations DDT Method has ever published.KEY TAKEAWAYSWhy stacking SLU-PP-332 and BAM15 together quietly works against youThe weekly split Mike used to drop 10 lbs in two weeks Why "the sweats" on SLU-PP-332 are a red flag, not a sign it's workingThe SS-31 dose almost nobody runs Why 9 out of 10 of Mike's clients are told to take something OUT of their protocolHow to sequence SS-31 and MOTS-c to blow up your resultsThe best GLP for maintaining muscleCHAPTERS00:00 Intro00:29 SLU-PP-332 vs BAM15: Dosing & Mechanism05:26 From Crohn's to Peptide Manufacturer11:22 Keeping IFBB Pros' Organs Healthy16:39 Protecting HDL & Cholesterol on Cycle23:33 Building a Stim-Free Fat Loss Stack29:31 SS-31 & High-Dose Recovery37:20 MOTS-c & the Kitchen-Sink Problem42:15 GLP-1s, Mazlutide & Muscle Preservation45:46 The Bioglutide Controversy50:36 FOXO4-DRI & Fixing His Knees55:26 Biohacks: Sleep, Cold & EMF Beds60:13 Where to Find MikeCONNECT WITH MIKE METZGERInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/pepper_apr/Website: https://aprhealthsolutions.comThis content is for educational and informational purposes only and is not medical advice.
