| 9/2/26 | The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Living Intentionally by Viterose Van Huis | Living Intentionally by Viterose Van Huis https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CGWFSJMN From an early age, we are influenced by many different voices that constantly suggest how to be more beautiful, healthy, and wealthy, making it challenging for us to set clear intentions for ourselves. Living intentionally means living a life of knowing who we are. We don’t have a life; we are life. All we need to do is trust our intentions and the enabling force that powers our intentions. In an inspiring guide, Elaine Van Huis shares insight into a multitude of life experiences both in Barbados and the United States as she learned the value of setting intentions and maintaining a positive mindset to achieve her goals—even during challenging times. As she reveals how she transformed into a wife, mother, and more, Elaine leads others through her lessons learned on her evolutionary journey as she attempted to stay present, visualize the best possible outcome to every situation, intentionally grow old, and move away from misguided and negative intentions. Living Intentionally shares the personal experiences of a lifelong learner who has navigated the twists and turns of life with purpose, grace, and peace to help others do the same. “This easily digested read is so important since it makes clear how this power we have in our own minds answers our collective human failure to reduce conflict and achieve more harmony in our world today.” —Richard Harrison | — | ||||||

| 9/1/26 | The Chris Voss Show Podcast – A Different Approach and Other Stories by Alex Grant | A Different Approach and Other Stories by Alex Grant https://www.amazon.com/Different-Approach-Other-Stories-ebook/dp/B0FF3PZ1QT What happens when the ordinary turns disturbingly extraordinary? A Different Approach and Other Stories * is a darkly compelling collection of thought-provoking tales from author Alex Grant—stories that twist the familiar, challenge perception, and expose the fine line between normality and madness. Each story explores the unsettling undercurrents of human nature and modern society. From moral experiments gone wrong to eerie childhood memories and the consequences of casual cruelty, Grant’s writing balances sharp satire with haunting realism. These are not tales of monsters—but of people, choices, and systems pushed to their logical extremes. In this captivating collection, you’ll encounter: A chilling new form of justice where punishment truly “fits the crime.” A council worker who signs a seemingly routine contract with horrifying consequences. A man haunted by a childhood vision he cannot explain. Ordinary lives unravelling in unexpected, often darkly comic ways. Grant’s stories are unnervingly plausible—anchored in everyday details yet spiraling into moral and psychological unease. Witty, unsettling, and profoundly human, A Different Approach and Other Stories invites readers to question not just what happens—but why. If you enjoy the moral unease of Black Mirror, the dark irony of Roald Dahl’s Tales of the Unexpected, or the quiet dread of Ian McEwan’s early works, you’ll be riveted by Alex Grant’s unforgettable short fiction. About the author Alex loves reading novels, but having grown up in the punk era, he also values writing that is sharp, direct, and entertaining. However, his stories are far from the literary equivalent of a simple three-chord thrash. Instead, they are layered and thought-provoking, inviting multiple readings to fully appreciate their depth and complexity. An economist by profession, his interests span the criminal justice system, the spiritual dimension of life, and playing bass guitar. He also enjoys the croquet game as quintessentially English as it is vicious. | — | ||||||

| 8/31/26 | The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Grief, Forgiveness, Acceptance, and Rejection by Dr. Daniel Brubaker | Grief, Forgiveness, Acceptance, and Rejection by Dr. Daniel Brubaker https://www.amazon.com/dp/1665763159 Authordrbrubaker.com Healthcare providers and the public had no education in how to conduct end of life grieving until 1969 when Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross published her experience with hospice patients at the end of life. She was a Swiss-American psychiatrist, a pioneer in near-death studies, and author of the internationally best-selling book, On Death and Dying (1969), where she first discussed her theory of the five stages of grief, also known as the “Kübler-Ross model”. Since then, grief has been expanded into different areas other than end of life. This book also describes the five stages of grief and adds two more stages. However, it delves deeper into the emotions involved with grieving and how one manages many grieving areas, such as death, divorce, job loss, and so forth. Therefore, this book is written for anyone going through a grieving process. We say pain, suffering, and grief are inevitable, but how to cope and improve life is only done with experiences and knowledge. This book is not just about grief, but other emotions that come into play such as forgiveness. As Forgiveness is associated with grief. We discuss the different types of forgiveness and how each functions. Understanding the emotions involved with forgiveness helps relieve the pain of hostility and grudges one may hold. Acceptance is the last stage of Kubler-Ross’s five stages of grief, but we take this a step further into social acceptance, which also plays a role in grief. We discuss acceptance by others, such as friends and family. We include rejection by others, which can produce grief. We also discuss acceptance of others, such as people of other races, gender and so forth. Rejection of others, such as being prejudice, can lead to grief by the victims and others around them. I felt compelled to write about all the hatred, pain, and suffering causing grief around the world. I wrote this in empathy for my patients who grieve. I wrote this book out of my own experiences of grieving from health, personal and professional negative issues. About the author Republicans for Progress has been initiated by Dr. Daniel Brubaker to release the negative, retrogressive, and oppressive grip of the Republican Party over Americans. The goal of the initiative is to move forward, instead of backward, to compete as a great democracy representative around the world. There is no place for autocracy and fascism in America. We incorporate numerous ideas to continue our democracy, and further compete globally. Dr. Daniel B. Brubaker has spent half his career in academic medicine including the University of Pittsburgh Health Science Center, Oklahoma University Health Science Center, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Departments of Pathology. He has spent the past twenty years in medicine industry, which includes legal and clinical medicine. Dr. Brubaker has been a registered Republican for his entire life, yet he is one of the only truly progressive Republicans. Currently Dr. Brubaker is concerned over the current direction of the Republican Party towards far right nationalism. | — | ||||||
| 8/31/26 | The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Dialogues with Lucifer by Chet Roberts | Dialogues with Lucifer by Chet Roberts https://www.amazon.com/Dialogues-Lucifer-Chet-Roberts/dp/B0F1H9MY9T Few would disagree with the observation that we are living in very challenging times. While individual “rights” are touted as the highest goal, our culture continues to descend into violence, crime, and personal depression. No one would dare utter the words “Shame on you!” that was so common just fifty years ago. “Shame on you!” was a handy phrase by which society would challenge inappropriate behavior. The recognition of a higher power was legislated away for fear of offending someone, and time would reveal an increasing acceptance of weakness and indulgence as our true “rights.” Honor, honesty, and integrity were abandoned by a culture who only recognized “feelings” as the true barometer of human experience. A good idea? The fruit of these choices has resulted in paranoia, degradation, unchallenged crime, and despair. Why? Because we have cheerfully believed the lies of an evil force that desires the crushing of our very souls–a force that will give us what we want now but for a terrible price later. Worse, when we cooperate with this force, we soon find that something is still missing. There are only distractions to fill a void that only a reconciliation with God will heal. Dialogues with Lucifer may bring you closer to that which you really seek. | — | ||||||

| 8/26/26 | The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Bride of Jesus by Oried E Graves | Bride of Jesus by Oried E Graves https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FXNFR5LQ Christredeemsme.com Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God and becomes part of the body and Church of Christ. The Church is the bride of Jesus on earth, and Jesus is her Bridegroom. He died to redeem her from sin and death, and He rose again to prepare a place for her in heaven where she becomes His wife. Jesus made His Church His bride on earth and His wife in heaven because she kept His Word and abided in His love, just as He kept His Father's Word and abided in His love (John 15:10). Before the Church could become the wife of Christ, she first had to be redeemed into the spiritual image and likeness of God. Only Christ could redeem His Church, for she was created in His image and likeness as His closest relative. Jesus did not redeem her merely to marry her He redeemed her because He was already united with her from creation, and He came to save her from sin and the lake of fire. Do you believe this truth? You should want to if you don't. For this is the greatest life mankind can live on earth or in heaven (Matthew 11:11). | — | ||||||

| 8/23/26 | The Chris Voss Show Podcast – My Path to Global International Relations: A semi-autobiographical textbook by Dr Vendulka Kubalkova | My Path to Global International Relations: A semi-autobiographical textbook by Dr Vendulka Kubalkova https://www.amazon.com/Path-Global-International-Relations-semi-autobiographical/dp/B0GJSFG95W Drvkubalkova.com My Path to Global International Relations is a semi-autobiographical textbook. Textbooks are comprehensive compilations of content in a branch of study students learn. Textbooks are produced to meet primarily the needs of educators. They come with ready-made PowerPoints, quizzes, videos, lesson-by-lesson schedules, etc., to facilitate the teacher's job. Unlike textbooks but like fiction generally, the autobiographical format of this work is designed primarily with a reader in mind: to be learned in an enjoyable way since it tells a real-life story. It is a story of "study abroad" gone awry at the height of the Cold War. The permission to study abroad in the Communist country came with strings attached: a KGB espionage assignment. The author's home Prague, and she was only 24 at the time, was occupied by tanks. It became a moral issue for her, and having been blackmailed into accepting the espionage assignment, she blew her cover in England, where she was to study on a British scholarship. It started a lonely path of exile through international relations, statelessness, undocumented, and, for decades, unable to go home. It led to a challenging but successful career as a Professor of International Relations in several countries. Standard textbooks quickly become out of date, the Preface stresses, the "Globe is in everybody's living room." They are the ones governed by fear instead of faith. Unfortunately, many times the loudest of these barking dogs are kenneled right in most people’s own heads. For Jeff and Eric, that priceless quality is wisdom. It goes beyond knowledge or aptitude and transcends this era of cultural and technological hyper-change, with principles that are timeless. | — | ||||||

Tim Brown doesn’t just tell a story of survival—he delivers a blueprint for leadership under the most extreme circumstances imaginable.”—Gary Sinise “I was profoundly moved by Tim’s story of resilience, faith, and enduring purpose.”—Admiral William McRaven, from the foreword Decorated FDNY firefighter, 9/11 survivor, and expert emergency manager Tim Brown shares the lessons he’s learned about grief, resilience, sacrificial love, and transforming pain into purpose. Would you be able to stand again after the worst day of your life? How do you keep serving and leading when the task is heavy and the cost is high? On September 11, 2001, FDNY firefighter and emergency manager Tim Brown was inside the World Trade Center complex when the towers fell. Nearly one hundred of his friends and colleagues were killed. He lived—and vowed to never forget. Then came September 12. And every day after that. Days spent first surviving, then grieving, then learning how to transform pain into purpose. Drawing on decades in fire service, disaster response, and national security, as well as on the lessons learned from the fallen heroes, Brown distills the principles of sacrificial service that he forged in the midst of pressure, trauma, and great personal cost. In The Greatest Love, you’ll learn: • How to re-discover purpose by finding your sacrificial why • What nine therapists missed about managing grief—and the process that finally worked • Why establishing the DNA of sacrificial service in your life is key • How to connect with your brotherhood and leave a legacy Sacrificial service is the greatest love any of us can show. This means carrying the load when no one is watching, putting service before self-protection, and not letting your loss dictate who you become. Step beyond survival and into a life marked by purpose, resilience, and grace. | —

Our children are struggling. Schools, once alive with human connection, are now dominated by screens and digital tools. The result is unmistakable: declining performance, fractured attention, and the slow erosion of rigorous thought. For the first time in recent history, children are falling behind previous generations on many key measures of cognitive development. In The Digital Delusion, neuroscientist and educator Dr. Jared Cooney Horvath reveals how the widespread use of laptops, tablets, and classroom software is undermining how children learn and develop. Drawing on decades of research, he provides practical tools for families to reassess device use at home, equips educators with the means to restore attention-rich learning environments, and helps schools make smarter decisions about technology. He exposes and dismantles the central myths driving the EdTech movement and lays out a clear path for putting people—not programs—back at the center of education. This is not a call to reject technology. It’s a call to reclaim real learning.About the author Jared Cooney Horvath (PhD, MEd) is a neuroscientist, educator, and best-selling author who specializes in human learning and brain development. | 8/17/26 | The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Wrong Side Out: Madness Misdiagnosed by Benton Savage | Wrong Side Out: Madness Misdiagnosed by Benton Savage https://www.amazon.com/Wrong-Side-Out-Madness-Misdiagnosed-ebook/dp/B0GRPVD4NX In Wrong Side Out, Benton Savage tells a starkly honest story of living through prolonged confusion, loss of control, and the slow work of reclaiming himself. Told from the inside, the memoir captures what it feels like when judgment falters, reality bends, and everyday decisions carry unexpected consequences, often with lasting personal cost. Savage writes openly about isolation, damaged relationships, and moments when his own instincts could not be trusted, yet the book resists easy explanations or tidy redemption. Instead, it follows a long, uneven path marked by resistance, collapse, persistence, and gradual clarity. The struggle is not abstract or symbolic; it unfolds through real events, real mistakes, and the determination to keep going when forward motion feels impossible. At its core, Wrong Side Out is a story of endurance and self-reclamation, of learning to live with limits without erasing identity, and of finding steadiness after years of imbalance. It is not about labels or diagnoses, but about what it takes to regain footing, rebuild trust in oneself, and fully reengage with life on one's own terms.About the author Benton Savage’s life story is as rich and varied as his lines of writing. His time spent navigating personal changes and traversing the diverse landscapes has indelibly shaped his perspective and literary voice. Today, Benton resides in Fort Walton Beach, Florida where he balances his property management business with his true passion, writing. His daily dedication to capturing his thoughts and experiences on paper is a testament to his unwavering commitment to exploring the complexities of the human condition. His recently released poetry book, Fortune Cookies:100 Sayings to Help you Navigate Life’s Challenges, a unique collection of poetic musings that mirrors the paper fortunes found in the heart of a cookie, reached number one on Amazon for new poetry in August 2024. Savage’s coming-of-age novel, Free and Satisfied, explores issues with impulsivity, alcohol, and nuances of an interracial relationship, was published in April 2025. | —
| 8/17/26 | The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Leadersh!t: A Look at the Broken Leadership System in Corporate America That Accepts Leaders Who are Really Good at Being Bad by Rande Somma | Leadersh!t: A Look at the Broken Leadership System in Corporate America That Accepts Leaders Who are Really Good at Being Bad by Rande Somma https://www.amazon.com/LEADERSH-Broken-Leadership-Corporate-America/dp/1634919343 With humble beginnings in a small, low-income home in Pittsburgh to over 40 years of business experience including serving as a Chairman, Vice-Chairman and member of several corporate boards of directors, being a corporate officer and running a $20 billion global operation for Johnson Controls, Inc., Automotive Operations, Worldwide, Rande Somma has seen some things in the context of leadership that deeply disturbed him. Somma brings an empathetic top-down perspective to the problem of corporate leadership and the chasm of disconnect that often exists between the workers, management, and the C-suite executives. His book looks at lowered standards for leaders, higher compensation, and the path of convenience, fraud, greed, and corruption that leaders are more often choosing over obligation to their duties. Recently, American businesses have been looking for and hiring leaders who are willing to do anything to elevate our companies to be "successful", to be the "best". The author contends that what is considered to be "successful" and the "best" has changed over the past several years or decades to refer almost exclusively to financial gain. While leaders we hire are supposed to be individuals talented in the art of leading people, they are now those guys and gals who are more talented at being financial wizards and creating the illusion that the business is fundamentally sound. This book is about what we have surrendered in the process of our hyper focus on financial gains, and that includes the exceptional return on investment of integrity. The author presents a narrative about what he perceives as a serious and disturbing truth that is incrementally infecting companies both large and small. This truth that was once unacceptable has now become not just acceptable but expected and normal with regard to leadership in corporate America. Somma demonstrates through his personal stories and others' experiences how corporate American leadership has descended into leadershit. While many of his stories are based on his own experience in the auto industry, Somma sees the problem as a more pervasive issue. It was not just the auto industry having a bad year or two; the pattern was repeated in other companies and industries and in other leadership situations. He recognized this as a leadership system that doesn't serve us anymore, and therefore, it is the system that is the problem. Somma shows how we - all of us - are paying for leadershit's lack of commitment to absolute integrity, authenticity, and real performance. While this book walks through Somma's own tangles with the facets of leadership over the course of his professional career with many organizations, he encourages the reader to recognize the challenges that we all face and for all of us to emerge with solutions and as authentic leaders. | — | ||||||
