| 6/23/26 | ![]() 3 Traits That Make You Likeable, Tactics That Toxic People Use & More | Amy's feeling eager, Kat's feeling refreshed, and they’re getting into all the things! First up: the three traits that make someone instantly likeable (hint: it's not just being nice). Then, how does Maternal Instinct compare to Love Trapped?? Amy shares sneaky ways toxic people test if they still have access to you after they've hurt you, without ever actually apologizing, plus what to do about it. And finally, describing your ex as a store. Some of these are “afterdark”...you've been warned. Get some Feeling Things merch by clicking HERE! | 6/20/26 | ![]() What's God Got To Do With It? Why Focusing on Your Problems Makes Them Worse [With Neurosurgeon Dr. Lee Warren] | What if the very thing mental health culture tells you to do—focus on your trauma, honor your feelings, explore your pain—is actually reinforcing the patterns that are keeping you stuck? In this episode, Dr. Lee Warren and I tackle one of the most controversial (and most important) truths about how the brain works: where you put your attention literally shapes your reality. What you focus on expands. And if you're spending years focusing on your trauma, your pain, your "broken" parts, you're training your brain to keep running those patterns. We talk about the observer effect from quantum physics, how the ACC (the social-emotional brain) operates at the subconscious level, and why your beliefs have to align with what Scripture says about you—not just intellectually, but at the deepest level where your brain is automating your identity. This isn't about toxic positivity or pretending the pain isn't real. It's about understanding that constantly rehearsing "I AM anxious, I AM broken, I AM not enough" is literally giving your brain permission to keep being that. And there's a better way. If you've ever felt like you've been "working on yourself" for years but you're still stuck in the same patterns, this episode will show you why—and what needs to shift. | 6/19/26 | ![]() Soul Sessions: Why the Next 3 Months Matter So Much (Summer Energy Update) | The game is changing, the rules are changing, and this summer is asking you to show up as an embodied spiritual human being. In this Summer Energy Update, Amanda Rieger Green dives deep into the profound evolutionary period taking place over June, July, and August. This season isn't about frantically chasing future goals—it's about conscious participation in who you are becoming right now. Amanda breaks down the unique energetic signature of the months ahead: June: Revelation — A time for internal honesty, deep awareness, and trusting your truth. July: Strength — Finding energetic resilience and staying anchored as things accelerate. August: The Reckoning — Closing old doors while simultaneously stepping into a brand-new chapter. We also explore the curious astrology at play, including Chiron moving into Taurus, and how to navigate the noise of a rapidly changing world without abandoning yourself. Stop waiting for certainty. It's time to trade the "human doing" for the "human being" and step into greater self-leadership. Who are you becoming? The next 3 months matter. | 6/18/26 | ![]() When Opposites Attract, The Sudoku Packing Method & More (Couch Talks) | Amber from Austin is newly married and in a pre-trip standoff…she packs last-minute, her husband packs very early, and the tension gets real before they even leave the house. Amy & Kat travel together and they are VERY different travelers…they talk through finding a middle ground. Then, Amy shares a tip: the Sudoku Packing Method, a 3x3 capsule wardrobe grid that promises 27+ outfit combos from just 9 items that she keeps seeing in her FYP on Instagram. Plus, a voicemail from Darrel, who lost her husband 17 months ago and found unexpected healing and laughter in our episodes…she also gives us an epic quote: “Have the fart you need to have.” Haha. | 6/16/26 | ![]() Is Your Brain Gaslighting You? Plus Why Women Need 47 Minutes of THIS Each Day | Kat is feeling pumped and Amy is feeling shooketh because her son made coffee at church with his friends this morning like it was nothing. He's graduating in 2030 and apparently drinks coffee now…cool. Amy shares a study that found that women feel most fulfilled in their relationships when they get 47 minutes of undivided attention from their partner each day. And then Kat goes over some cognitive biases…the halo effect, the sunk cost fallacy, confirmation bias, zero sum bias, and a few others that will make you look at your own thinking a little differently. | 6/14/26 | ![]() What's God Got To Do With It? Why Mental Health Is Getting Worse (Even Though We're Trying Harder) | We have more mental health resources, more awareness, more support than ever before. So why are anxiety, depression, and suicide rates at all-time highs? In this first episode of our brand-new Spiritual Brain Surgery series, Dr. Lee Warren and I dive into the paradox that's plaguing our culture: more help, worse outcomes. We unpack the stats, explore what's missing from the current mental health model, and ask the hard question: what if the foundation itself is incomplete? Dr. Warren explains why most mental health approaches are built on theory, not on how the brain actually works. We talk about the difference between managing symptoms forever and actually repairing the root problem. And we dig into why knowing the "why" behind your patterns isn't enough if your subconscious self-image is still running the old story. Here's the truth: if your beliefs and self-image undermine what Scripture says about you, it doesn't matter how much therapy you've done or how much you intellectually "know." Your brain will keep automating the old patterns until you learn how to interrupt them at the root. This episode is the foundation for everything we're going to unpack in this series. If you've ever felt stuck—like you're doing all the "right things" but nothing's actually changing—this conversation will show you why, and what's missing. | 5/26/26 | ![]() Weird Things People Do That Are In Love, The 10-Minute Tan & More | Love makes people do weird things and we're getting into all of it. Biting, tickling, farting, and whatever else happens when you're truly comfortable with someone. Plus, Kat is feeling grateful for the overwhelming sunscreen recommendations that came flooding in, and Amy is in a full good mood thanks to a new 10-minute self tanner that changed everything. Then... dumpster diving. A mom and daughter hit the jackpot behind Home Goods and walked away with a car full of brand new items, tags still on, completely free. Area rugs, ceramic vases, fleece blankets, baking dishes. They go over a list and the pro tips you need if you want to try it yourself. Sunday is apparently the day to go! And listener Susan from Austin writes in with a beautiful note, a baby name idea for Kat, a Canyon Ranch recommendation, and the kind of encouragement that reminds you why we do this. Amy went over a list of insults so intelligent you don’t realize you’ve been roasted until a few thoughts later. Sam from Boston called in sharing her go-bag hack for contact lens wearers, and Heidi emailed giving us the full mineral sunscreen download after three years of family testing. | 5/19/26 | ![]() Is Your Phone Making You Less Attractive? Also, Your Texting Habits Reveal More Than You Think | Kat’s feeling excited and Amy’s feeling thankful! Amy also gets real about a candid confession from an ex who called her out for being on her phone too much during their relationship, which leads perfectly into the episode's first big topic. They break down exactly what your "OK" texts say about you. Whether you're sending a firm "OK." with a period, a passive-aggressive thumbs up, or a flirty "OKAYYY," your texting habits reveal more than you think. That conversation opens the door to a fascinating new study on phubbing, the habit of ignoring the people in front of you in favor of your phone, and how putting your device down can actually make you more attractive, warmer, and more likable to the people around you. On a lighter note, Amy and Kat make a case for bringing back the lost art of popping in on your friends, because sometimes the best hangs are the ones nobody planned. They also tease a potential vacation together and share a genius travel hack for scoring deeply discounted trips on reservations that other people had to give up. And finally, a listener named Ashleigh from Georgia calls in with an important food safety PSA: those frozen peas you've been tossing straight into your seven-layer salad? Yeah, you need to cook them first. Consider yourselves warned. Get some Feeling Things merch by clicking HERE! (FeelingThingsPodcast.com) Sign up for the Feeling Things newsletter HERE! | 5/17/26 | ![]() Write Your Story: On Creativity and Capitalism | Can you make money from your creativity? Of course. But does capitalism get in the way of your creativity? Also, I will argue, yes. On today’s episode I take up a conversation that has been going on for centuries: a conversation about the tension between art and commerce. Or as I will call it: creativity and capitalism. Except this time I take the conversation beyond how to create a beautiful thing detached from revenue to discuss how to live a life from a place of utter truth and authenticity, which is the ultimate pillar of creativity. In a world obsessed with the bottom line, this isn’t easy but it’s more important than ever. Link to Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way HERE! | 5/16/26 | ![]() What’s God Got To Do With It?: Why Your Teen’s Emotions Are All Over the Place (And What’s Really Happening in Their Brain) [Teenager Brain Series Part 4] | In this episode, Leanne dives into emotional dysregulation—why your teen melts down over the smallest things and can't bring themselves back down. When a teen experiences something that feels threatening, stressful, or overwhelming, their brain's alarm system (the amygdala) goes off and sends them into fight-or-flight mode. Their heart rate spikes, their breathing gets shallow, and their prefrontal cortex—the part of the brain responsible for rational thinking and emotional regulation—goes offline. That's why your teen can't "just calm down" when you tell them to. Their "sound mind" is literally offline. And here's the thing: In teenagers, the prefrontal cortex is still under construction. It's not fully developed until around age 25. So when a teen's brain goes into fight-or-flight, it's even harder for them to bring themselves back down. But here's the good news: We can teach students how to regulate their nervous system. We can teach them how to go from fight-or-flight to calm in under 30 seconds. Even if they've never been able to calm down before. Even if meditation doesn't work for them. The way we teach it at Teenager Brain is different—it's a foolproof way to access the nervous system through the sensory system, and anyone can do it. Leanne shares powerful examples of what changes when students learn to regulate—from handling friend drama without spiraling, to processing a bad grade without melting down, to navigating social media rejection without falling apart. This is what happens when we teach students how to regulate their nervous system. Not perfection. Not eliminating hard things. Just giving students the tools to process their emotions, respond instead of react, and be emotionally available to themselves. Ready to bring these tools to your school or teen? Head over to TeenagerBrain.com to request a free sample lesson. You'll see exactly how the Teenager Brain curriculum works and test-drive a full lesson yourself. We're looking for our next 25 pilot schools for Fall 2026. This is a 4-week plug-and-play emotional fitness program that teaches students how to regulate their emotions, separate truth from lies, and build a self-image that lasts—without adding to your workload.
